How Can Anyone Be Convinced

How can anyone be convinced,
That the banging of their head against a wall...
Has no affect emotionally,
On the ones who may be on the other side of it.
Nor would they care if they are not there,
If someone spends the time to inflict their own grief.

Frankly, the doing of it is rare these days,
Since people are prone to share their agonies...
With those close and claimed to be loved.

How can anyone be convinced,
If they chose to sit on a picked fence...
That anyone paying attention to this,
Hasn't already accepted...
Another one they perceive as being crazed.
And going out of their way to prove it.

Why do the self-centered always believe,
People are patiently waiting to feel their pain?

The Catastrophe of Delusion

The catastrophe of delusion,
Conquered into submission.
And defeated by undeniable truth...
Wounds the minds of many!

The audacity of reality,
Tearing down walls of pretense.
Leaves an exposure of falsities...
With nowhere to hide.
Or a fence to sit!

Those aware with focused eyes,
Take comforts away...
From the ones medicated.
The ones sedated,
Who board daily...
Their escapading 'trips' as scehduled.

Anything to keep their minds numbed...
With detached satisfaction.

A Better Ressurection

I have no wit, no words, no tears;
My heart within me like a stone
Is numbed too much for hopes or fears.
Look right, look left, I dwell alone;
I lift mine eyes, but dimmed with grief
No everlasting hills I see;
My life is in the falling leaf:
O Jesus, quicken me.

My life is like a faded leaf,
My harvest dwindled to a husk:
Truly my life is void and brief
And tedious in the barren dusk;
My life is like a frozen thing,
No bud nor greenness can I see:
Yet rise it shall--the sap of spring;
O Jesus, rise in me.

My life is like a broken bowl,
A broken bowl that cannot hold

Presumption

Her constant communication
Fed his chauvinistic ego
And led him to blind conclusions
That her heart cared for him so.

Her words nurtured in friendship
Made it hard to tell otherwise,
But he felt it was part of a courtship
Where the lady was chasing the price.

Unaware of her true intentions
Too flattered was he to surmise,
He was drunk by his own motivations-
She was not what he soon realized.

He coolly brushed her aside
Thinking he was making a conquest,
But she took it all in stride
For her true love had laid a request.

Sent By Sparrows...

if i undress your eyes very gently,
will i find the last vestiges of fire?
did the great wings of hunger
scar the skies of your soulless darkness?
is the screech of the owl
hidden in your tight numbed lips?
does the snail trail of my body,
still cling to your need in the moonlight?
must my fingers fumble with the latch,
and my footprints haunt your sleeplessness?
or am i just the tree that fell
in the fury of the storm?
am i the leaf floating on the still pond?

the things i buried in the small wooden box,
that night beneath the willow.
perhaps among them were you and i....
will the spiders resurrect us?

if i am dead then let it be,

Identity Theft

Pay attention to the news!
Coups are happening overseas
Soldiers lurk in the bushes here
In crevices of soil and trees

Bugs are slowly hauling off
All your easy liberties
Assured and so familiar
You scarce remember what they were

But you will miss them if they're gone
And your children will thank you none
When drunken agents of the law
Plunge their hatchets through the door

It's hard, I know, to be one's best
Living now and living here
Numbed, fatigued and short of rest
Distraught by loneliness and fear

Dark Purple Cloud (Revised)

Charging the robot, waiting impatiently to
practice my Grand Prix skills - deriving
no real joy from overtaking a few listless
motorists - swerving around a big truck,
arrived at work amazingly enough in one
piece albeit wondering why it felt like I
was caught in a dark hole with no escape

Walked into the brightness outside - to
my shocked surprise the cash machine
turned into a troll and ate my card -
called the magic number immediately to
cancel gobbled-up credit - numbed in
shock returned to my work station so
traumatised, shared my distress with
soothing colleagues who,

On commiserating with my dilemma,
recommended horse liniment for the
lump on my leg - I am still wondering

G2

the lonely wife in the house
for years has been abandoned by the brown colored
husband,
and she in turn pleases herself with some
daily chores: replacing the vase with flowers
everyday
fine tuned with every occasion
of renewal and
revival
sometimes she wears a dress with flowers
of blue designs
she weaves stories for herself
and indulges in the fantasy
of her sorrows
away from grief and
numbed by the pains
this time as the rain pours heavily
and she cannot go into her garden
to pick a flower
she takes a picture of herself

A Frostry Night

Mother: Alice, dear, what ails you,
Dazed and white and shaken?
Has the chill night numbed you?
Is it fright you have taken?

Alice: Mother I am very well,
I felt never better;
Mother, do not hold me so,
Let me write my letter.

Mother: Sweet, my dear, what ails you?

Alice: No, but I am well.
The night was cold and frosty,
There's no more to tell.

Mother: Ay, the night was frosty,
Coldly gaped the moon,
Yet the birds seemed twittering
