Quotes about lessen, page 5

Thirst

Water may be the solace to the throat
But can it lessen or quench my thirst
For what I am searching for,
Tramping across the shallow shore?

Having determined, confident as well,
I gently walked treading on the shell,
Being astray to get from this cosmos
Whatever that'l satiate me more not less.

A Guilty Woman

guilt has a pair of eyes
and you who have nothing to hide
look straight to his iris
that shuts down a bit
to lessen the flow of light
as though hiding
something in the dark
that it still treasures
in its back

you are the sun that shines
early morning to kiss the new flowers of the day
she is the afternoon
that slowly fades away

Having A Bun On The Oven

Not a sea horse
Nor a hermaphrodite
Neither sleep around
Still I have a bun on the oven
Breaks out
All Symptoms of ailments
Writhing with pain
Still pleasure inside
Drink cold water,
Antacid and pain killer
All gone in vain
To lessen the burden
Wanted to vomit
Nothing came out
Restless like a monkey
Badly need a room
For delivery.

On Stephen Duck, the Thresher, and Favourite Poet. A Quibbl

The Thresher Duck, could o'er the Q prevail,
The Proverb says; No Fence against a Flayl.
From threshing Corn, he turns to thresh his Brains;
For which Her My allows him Grains.
Though 'tis confess't, that those who ever saw
His Poems, think them all not worth a Straw.
Thrice happy Duck, employ'd in threshing Stubble!
Thy Toil is lessen'd, and thy Profits double.

Change

You said
she soon will change
you hoped
in time he will alter
yet heard lies
and saw her falter
and him doped

So now make a u-turn
let the tire burn
and the fire retire

Lessen the range
review the facts
limit the scope
go on and adjust
yardstick your acts

Modify your plan
for she will not alter

Coy And Shy Woman

she takes the last seat
where i can see her most
with her bulging breasts
and sexy legs

i know what she is up to
but i can always pretend
that i am more
interested in political law
rather than
sex

i must be firm. i know.
but for how long?

i guess
i must not be too hard on
myself...

perhaps, dinner tonight

Song of Nuns

O fly, my soul! what hangs upon
Thy drooping wings,
And weighs them down
With love of gaudy mortal things?

The Sun is now i' the east; each shade,
As he doth rise,
Is shorter made,
That earth may lessen to our eyes.

Oh, be not careless then and play
Until the star of peace
Hide all his beams in dark recess.
Poor pilgrims needs must lose their way
When all the shadows do increase.

The true Christian is not obliged to renounce the things of this world or to lessen his natural abilities. On the contrary, inasmuch as he incorporates them into his normal life in a disciplined manner, he develops and perfects them; he thereby ennobles the natural life itself, supplying efficacious values to it not only of the spiritual and eternal world but also of the material and earthly world.

His Mistress To Him At His Farewell

You may vow I'll not forget
To pay the debt
Which to thy memory stands as due
As faith can seal it you.
--Take then tribute of my tears;
So long as I have fears
To prompt me, I shall ever
Languish and look, but thy return see never.
Oh then to lessen my despair,
Print thy lips into(the air,
So by this
Means, I may kiss thy kiss,
Whenas some kind
Wind
Shall hither waft it:--And, in lieu,
My lips shall send a thousand back to you.

Let Her Bloom Again

Where is that hurt nightingale?
That brought me alive in life’s dale.
Tell me your saddest tale
and lessen your pain caused by a gale.

Your heartless kin have left you alone
to curse ill-fate and life to moan.
A little mercy none has shown
and your hope to refresh they have blown.

The flowers in thy lawn I make to bloom
and drive-out the mind-boggling gloom.
In thy charred heart leave me some room
To make it lusty and a post-doom boom.
