Quotes about recipient, page 3
On Writing
is talking aloud to myself
i'm the first recipient of my communication,
first translator of my emotion into words.
first witness to the subtle unfolding within
writing is my strength.
writing is my weakness too
to me writing is meditation.
writing is prayer!

And I'm going to work as hard as I can... for cancer research and hopefully, maybe, we'll have some cures and some breakthroughs. I'd like to think I'm going to fight my brains out to be back here again next year for the Arthur Ashe recipient. I want to give it next year!

Fairy Fever
Forty words:
The fairy queen's teardrops are falling
She sneezes all summer long.
Innocent recipient of pollen
Blame histamine's fairy song.
The reason is the sunflower season
Fairy ring carnivals galore,
The scenery is really beautiful
But fairies want fever no more.

Recipient Of Unexpected Adversity
Wouldn't it be wise for anyone,
Before doing something done...
That affects the life of another,
To at least base the act upon facts?
Or 'something' that justifies one's ignorance.
And not what one has heard or assumes.
It would be advisable to use tact as well.
Many people do things without cause,
Or loosely connected reason.
To find themselves the recipient,
Of unexpected adversity.
Directed and with purpose.

Pain In Honesty
Being honest can help people
And correct the lies that were told
There are not always positive outcomes of the truth
Negative outcomes will come out at certain times
As soon as the truth is revealed to the recipient
They may release their tears and pain
Telling the truth is never that easy
Especially when you know what may happen
Considering whether or not the truth shall come out
Can make it easier than saying it without thinking

Everyday
Everyday we reach out to someone we hold dear.
Everyday we try to make our feelings clear.
We tell them that we love them,
always want them by our side
to have and to hold forever,
through times of happiness
and times of heartaches and pain.
Everyday we express our gratitude
to having them close at hand.
Whether it be with our words
or with gestures with our hands.
Everyday we do these things
always hoping the recipient understands.

Behind
Behind every poem that I write,
there is always a message there,
for either my wife or my dear friends.
They are always written,
from where a poem
should be written from - the heart.
They always say something kind,
never accusations thrown about.
Never any swear words,
who needs them, where beauty is concerned.
The poems are always special,
every single one.
They not be always go,
but they are special.
They mean something for me,
and to the recipient they are meant for.

Deposits I Have Made
Deposits I have made,
Throughout the years...
Without expectations,
Of receiving a dividend.
Was not a reason,
Why I chose to bank my time.
There was a giving of it I needed to do.
And then one day it happened.
I became the recipient of interests,
God bestowed upon me...
From those deeds I deposited,
When my needs only God inspected...
To detect it was my time to receive,
Blessings.
Dedicated to:
Gracie Lewis and Family.

Warm and Cozy in New Jersey
To my beloved friend, Raven Garcia
Raven is raging mad
At this cold weather, oh what a drag!
Shoveling this heavy snow
When he could be writing sonnets or even a haiku.
Raven is raging mad
Sleep eludes him, oh what a drag!
He tried to play his guitar but inspiration eludes him just once more
So he went outside to look up and wait for that fire in the sky.
Raven is raging mad
At the unfairness of it all
He has so much to give, but no worthy recipient it seems
Till he looks at Sophia's sleeping face
And realize everything is so worth it.
