I learned in the last few years that it's really unhappy and really unsustainable to try and base your well being on something as arbitrary as record sale and critical acclaim and the interests of the public. All of those things are so fickle. So my approach now to music is I want to make records that I love, and I hope that other people love them, then that's OK.

masterpieces are critic agreed agenda
who decides subject topic to acclaim?
artists significant declared eccentric?

people seek pursue status quo attainment
comfortable lives require basic necessities
achieve in current existing state extant affairs

within global concerns covetousness resides
need greed exploits contemporary opportunity
vision artist evokes ignored spiritual harmony

Rise to Greatness

There is something to be said about those
Who believe they can solicit themselves
Into obtaining attention, notoriety and fame.
Having little talent for what it is they perform.
But understanding the marketing.
And the strategicness of how to play...
The 'Rise to Greatness' game.
Using the skills to annoy in their favor.
Hoping this applied form,
Of their acquired 'art'...
Achieves their aim to gain acclaim!

Within The Shade

Behold, within the leafy shade,
Those famous dwellings called nests:
Bird’s eggs and twigs gathered.
Stay near me, as I uproot
This monument of Nature
With hands of health.
That is work! This matters to us,
The eggs taste special from the wild.
I consume and spare them at will,
The people answer with loud acclaim
That my eggs clad with gold
Are the better waste, the better health.
Behold, within the shade of dwellings
Is a bird’s work, my work,
And the work of people.

Destiny of a Puritan

most emotions, are of a social nature,
nurtured from childhood. I am no different-
but I often pause to wonder, if i could
rid myself of some pride, wonder
is it true, i can not do a deed without-

the praise of another, must i have comment
to value what i have done, can I in secret
perform an act, sincere and sympathetric
without reward or judgment, seeking no acclaim
or caling it pride in what I do

divest myself of this kind of ego
without prize of heaven or punishment of hell

I acclaim you as a sign of beauty of light.

Our love is never obsolete.

As the sun rises with heat.

I Always love every moment when we meet.

But in the end we communicate and relate.

The Hero Within

Limit yourself to the easy
and the difficult you'll never try.
Easys need live on the fringe of the world
grubbing for nickels and dimes,
Claiming that life has dealt a cruel blow;
crying: the fault is not mine.
Heros need training to do the grand deeds
that earn them a hero's acclaim
It's setting your eye on the hero inside,
knowing you're fair to the game.
Knowing you've got what it takes to be tough
no matter how rough life may be.
I'm a hero, I know it! When my actions show it
it's because I'm a hero to me.

A Poet

Attentive eyes, fantastic heed,
Assessing minds, he does not need,
Nor urgent writs to sup or dine,
Nor pledges in the roseate wine.

For loud acclaim he does not care
By the august or rich or fair,

O Abner Doble-whose 'catarrhal name'
Budd of that ilk might envy-'tis a rough
Rude thing to say, but it is plain enough
Your name is to be sneezed at: its acclaim
