Quotes about jellyfish, page 2

Ocean Park Hongkong

it was not the Panda
or that giant jellyfish glowing with it stings inside that giant aquarium,
no, no, not the dancing dolphins
not the friendly sea lions,
not the thrill of the gigantic hot air balloon,

i must admit it was you who was not there with me.

Perhaps

A thought starts a fire
loosening the lips.
I want to scream.

Between dreams and stars
a sky hung with
inverted moon.

The desire springs a scythe
but cannot cut a
jellyfish of eye.

A sunstroke was speechless
without a sun.
The gift of a night.

The sweet tooth of a lie
scoops a truth,
king of bitters.

Too slow to even kill myself

I was supposed
to be gone
to have jumped
to have fallen
down the cliff
into the wild
Mediterranean
crabs jellyfish sharks,
i was supposed
to become the meal
the dead drunkard
the nerd that flipped out,
it was graduation night
it was long
and i was tired,
why did he have to
grab me
and
pull me back

Sky reflected from her mouth

The waves kneaded the beach like fingers
on flesh, like shadow on light.
Sands pulled at until drowned.
The clouds like tattered sailers curse and throw earings
to the swelling sea
Stars, the orange cream swirls, jocund breeze, horizon undone.
and it all reflects from your mouth: and in it I'm lost then found then lost again.
pearls of teeth, sweet jellyfish tongue, cavernous ribs of eternity.

Nuclear Testing

Nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands
Nuclear tests in the Soviet`s Kazakhstan
A mushroom of clouds
from the ground and the ocean
leaves a never ending legacy
of disfigured faces,
of mothers with jellyfish babies
of graves from cancerous tumors
in the human bodies,
and the continuing horror
of the rays of atomic tests.

Nuclear test in its horror
and legacy will forever dwell
in the memory of our fragile humanity.

What Cannot Be Said Directly

so you are in that stage of
having to dive like Adrienne
in the ocean
finding the wreck,

more interpretations about reality.

you climb the ladder and see
another world,

and here you have written another story
about something that you cannot say directly

the mermaid and the jellyfish
the hands of the merman stronger than yours

and the death of one
the name of whom is not written elsewhere

the sand, the sun, and the silence of your

Those Traces Of Us...

we started as a form of darkness
then light leaked and water was formed
more light entered the system
giving birth to one celled organisms
putting on membranes
multiplying upon itself
moss was born and flagellates
and paramecium
until then the plants that learned to move
like vines and jellyfish and
turtles to chameleons and tarsiers
and civets and deers and lions
and monkeys and gorillas
then us....men and women
what is next in this
evolution? sharpened minds into
spirits
into gods?

Forever Tomorrow

beautiful yet ugly
the jellyfish stings until you die
ugly animals turn adorable
beautiful peace,
turns to dreadful hell
clean is made dirty
growing up is faster then ever here
sugar drops float and swim
molecules rush through the water
ugly old gray man monsters come to pray
life is just a hope
because the ribbons are here
ugly strings filled with beautiful nets
and the puffy disgusting mushroom looking things lurk too near us
beautiful and gorgeous when combined,
but ugly, deadly and disgusting when alone

Lost Glasses

My glasses fell into the water
and spent a night taunted by seaweed
The fish used them and became enraged
tearing out each other’s bones
A snail went by and suddenly saw a star
The jellyfish made love from bifocal to bifocal
Minnows licked the fragrant temples
The mud made plans

In the daytime my barefeet returned
The waters went to milk
and my fingers, my fish without hearts
picked them up, rinsed them in the clear
wiped them of all nightly friendship
put them on and redissolved that mental clay
that had made me dream of them and burn

Sea Spray

Sea spray charges towards me
Spitting, salivating horses
or some kind of menacing, murdering monster.
And I am Andromeda,
A sacrifice to the sea
Nothingness washes over me
as I watch and wait for the white horses
to carry the hearse-boat to the Underworld

Salty spray, like shampoo
washing the hair of the sea
Her waves of weed and jellyfish
rinsed by the purifying putrefying salt,
She’s some sort of siren
I feel the magnet pull inside me
Tempestuous temptation
And I understand why John Masefield
was compelled to the sea again and again
