After the War

A songbird on a decayed pole
shivering and woebegone.
nothing remained
everything has turned to dust
except a pauper's inn.
In the darkness
he was searching out of the debris

On the Edge of an Old Water

Dark interpretation of the water: stars in the mouth of the night,

Sighing in black pillows the rosy shadow of man,

Redness of autumn, the rustling of the maple in the old park,

Chamber concerts which fade on decayed stairs.

Potpourri

Do you remember
Honey-melon moon
Dripping thick sweet light
Where Canal Street saunters off by herself among quiet trees?
And the faint decayed patchouli—
Fragrance of New Orleans
Like a dead tube rose
Upheld in the warm air…

The tough pilgrimage

Charming night is still young
And the dark sky is getting old.
Virgin Moon roams around
Until the dawn comes.
Proud Sun burns
And makes wild fire in the hearts of solitary pilgrims.
But still they are ready to worship in the decayed Inn of life.

I dedicate this poem to my poet friend Duncan.

I

A paleness, resting in the shadow of decayed staircases -

It rises at night in silver guise

And wanders under the cloister.

In coolness of a tree and without pain

The perfect breathes

And does not need the autumnal stars -

Thorns over which the other falls.

Lovers ponder long after

His sad fall.

Ripen but a Bitter Fruit

Fallen to the earth with a branch from a decayed old tree.
It must be the 'Specific Gravity' according to Issac.Newton's law,
If the earth refused to plant my seeds
And I am sure a bird never takes me away.
Oh! Then I would be no more this miserable fruit in the solitary garden of Eden where they made illicit love.

With souls entwined,
Hurt's left behind,
As we've refined,
The weak resigned,
All those afraid,
Find hopes mislaid,
For risks unmade,
Leaves love decayed,
When led astray,
Through grave dismay,
We know someday,
Woes shall allay,
All we regain,
We shall maintain,
Fears shan't restrain,
Bliss shall remain.

At A Time You Were Only Part Of A Dream (Strambotto Romagnuolo)

At a time you were only part of a dream
that came to me on a dark rainy cold night
and at that time a fairy tale this did seem,
as in the early morning, the bright daylight,
away was the dream, decayed as the rose,
and it faded from memory as time goes
till one day into my presence you did come
and from its wandering my heart found its home.
