An Alliterative Lament
One March Monday morning
A dark dismal day,
The snow slowly sleeting,
We wending our way.
Just two tired tradesmen
In life's lonely lanes,
Both thoughtlessly thinking
Of bed in our brains.
Temptation entreating us,
'Wait a wee while...
Why have you to hurry? '
It says with a smile.
But we will not wait
Or sit silently still
'Til the day's deeds are done,
We must make to the mill;

Like Centaurs
The fluid works for years and years and more,
This concentrates my time with you this time,
I carefully see twice, my right and crime,
They work together like ambassador.
Arms fully die, like what is there before,
Legs march once those who march can come and climb
Like those before, as fast as any longtime,
We search tonight, then wonder anymore.
Like centaurs many ride the plains for food,
These creatures time their tracks once they fetch it,
They warn and read the dangers so distinct.
My fluid works in ways that continued,
The creature cries just like one hypocrite,
This means my living just is all extinct!

In Translation
Arriving with no intepretator
Leaving with signals and signs
On the elevator
In the pressed drudged crowds
Filled by the strangeness of infatuation
Your first arrival
Under the flash of a neon ray
Leaving with the wrong signs
In your back pocket
The price tags and the labels

Revolution Now
they're calling for revolution!
things must change!
the only sword we carry is truth...
as we march with justice
and equality...
what's past is past!
we cannot change
what's already been done.
the only way to heal the wounds
of the past is to create a future...
a future that begins with today!
no longer divided by color or creed,
we march hand to heart as one.
knowing that no man is free
until every man is free!
(and woman, and child...)
no longer owned by the things

Tendulkar's 100th Ton
My father gave a chocolate
when I walked hundred steps
In eighth standard, in maths
I got hundred out of hundred.
The hundred meant me more
When I watched Tendulkar,
hitting his hundredth century
after previous, waiting almost a year.
Delighted every spectator
watching the great cricketer,
either in the ground or television
hitting historic hundredth ton.
Since last ton hit in March last
waited eagerly every fan and sportsman
March 16 of twelve was set
to witness that great moment.

Double Standard II
DOUBLE STANDARD II
The adage: ‘two is company’
applies to you but not to me.
Law? What I bade, not what I do, -
for that, my maid, applies to you!

Getting Married
You called to share your good news!
That your getting married, on March fourteenth!
You knew that is my Birthday?
who would, or could ever think?
That you would have both planned it that way
in some sort of honored memory to me dear.
I'm blessed to know you both love me that much
for your wedding day with me to share.
I remember the first day they handed
your little precious body over to me.
Born in another woman's womb
but always felt you were, a real part of me.
You grew up with such sweetness
that you have shared now with your wife to be
and I'm honored to be now a part of you both
on your wedding day, and My Birthday this March fourteenth.

Have any like Myself
736
Have any like Myself
Investigating March,
New Houses on the Hill descried—
And possibly a Church—
That were not, We are sure—
As lately as the Snow—
And are Today—if We exist—
Though how may this be so?
Have any like Myself
Conjectured Who may be
The Occupants of the Adobes—
So easy to the Sky—
'Twould seem that God should be
The nearest Neighbor to—
And Heaven—a convenient Grace

A war song!
I see the soldiers marching on
Singing a cold war song
On the road they hold onto their guns
As the fighting goes on all day long
Fight, March, and fight
Shoot, aim and shoot right
Whether the sun shines, this is war
This is war whether the rains pours
This is war where we kill
Our friends, sisters and brothers
For they are our enemies for real
If they choose against us for another
They go to war
Because of a handful of political men
Who stand alive; in erect offices still holding their pens
The soldiers fight until no one stands up anymore!

Modern Love XXXV (Manhattan's white flowers)
I always saw these
beautiful white flowers
blossoming in March,
as I walked the streets
of east Manhattan in my
garden. I strolled
from 77th to 92nd street
and Madison to 3rd avenue
This year, for some
reason it will be
in April,
This year, for some
reason it will be
in April, say the
tiny chickadees.
So, during this winter
let us meet during a storm
and after sitting
