Ode to a lime,
heavenly divinity that contorts my face so
your tint taking a pale bright green hue
to yourself I shall be the coconut
drawing you into my mouth
my jaw clenching all the while
your eyeless gaze pleads with me to leave you be
but citrus love my beverages glass is in need of garnishing
a slice of you will do the honors oh so fine
