Just A Thought

On a sunny afternoon when
rain pours on my wooden deck
sometimes at dusk when I drive
as the evening lights begin to glimmer
daily routine is conjured up
and then the old tune plays on my radio
I am reminded again of that smile of yours
I heave a sigh and find myself with you
Eons have passed
The dust has settled
I have moved on
And so have you
Yet every now and then
You seize my thoughts

What is this hold I feel
I wonder now
Could this be real
Can this exist
I have read it in fairy tales
Screens are embellished time and again
This notion of love
What is it?
I sometimes wonder

An invisible string
That ties that knot
Somewhere two souls just stay and drift along
No touch is needed to keep it warm
No words are written but the saga goes on
Sometimes as a smile
at times a painful knot deep in the throat
A luminous secret
Cherished in the bosom
a butterfly that's let go but stays within you
just because its meant to be

i fooled myself
tried to run away
Put away those lovely notes
Hid all those happy pictures
Stayed away from the crowd
that has known me as yours
gone far away from the land you wake up and sleep
Yet not a day goes by
Not a dawn breaks through
Not a song passes by
not a love lorn look is lost
when your thoughts don't seize my mind

Don't get me wrong
I am happy where I am
I still smile and dance
I think I have it all
But that powerful magical whiff of warmth
I feel when I think of you
Now that's what I don't understand

i yearn at times
to see you
to talk to you
Sometimes just to sit next to you
on long bus rides along the dusty path
where roses are all I smell and fairies make my bed

I feel I may explode if I don't find u now
And then I wake up to make the meal
So long my friend
My soul's faith
I shall do what I need today
Till next time
When u seize my thoughts
And I give away
