To Validate A Feeling Felt Inside Themselves
A request to express an appreciation,
To motivate and inspire one who solicits this...
Places another in an awkward position.
Especially if the one solicited,
Hates to discourage...
With a response that is negative.
Flowery criticisms do not exist.
And if a critique is constructive,
What is suggested becomes misinterpreted.
The best advice I had ever been given,
Was to never ask for someone's opinion.
If I believed in a direction I followed,
Without fear of making mistakes...
Eventually I would learn on my own.
By researching that task I wanted to master...
As I developed a voice I alone grew to condone.
Some people are not willing to be that patient.
While others want to hear...
How great they are.
To validate a feeling felt inside themselves...
With a wish to have others,
Gaze upon them as if they were 'stars'.
And if that is the feeling already felt,
Nothing anyone says or recommends...
Will change what is already known within.
Many need to leave the feeding of their egos,
And just 'be' about what it is they choose to do!
If accolades come they come if they don't they don't.
