I Could Not Have Shown You That!
By that time you were in between,
Making up your mind...
Which direction to take,
With an identity that was your own...
I had been there, by myself, alone!
And you could have asked me...
What it was like.
But that struggle would have been,
Still your fight!
I know for you...
The road ahead would have been easier,
To pursue.
But,
You chose not to ask what you should do.
And I respect that.
Since we have become closer...
After you stumbled more than a few times,
To know exactly what you've gone through.
And...
I could not have shown you that!
What you needed and wanted,
Could not have happened overnight.
