We Are Separate And Yet I Love You
We are separate and yet I love you,
in my mind I see your face
at the breaking of day
as if you are constantly with me.
I love you in the flowering of spring,
even in the stripped deadness of winter
you still have my heart rushing
and maybe I am longing for you in vain,
maybe the thoughts of you bring only pain,
but still I love you at twilight
even when the darkness sets in
the stars look through your eyes.
Even in time’s clockwork stream
you come to every dream
and my love for you
is never through.
