Today I missed you
Today I missed you more
than I thought possible
and the missing
wasn’t of your body
and not being able
to make love to you.
I missed your company,
the way that you sometimes frown
at the bright light falling on your face,
the way that you throw your head back
to get the hair from your face,
the way that you blow
smoke out after
sucking a cigarette
and still something lingered with me
as if in a way you were here.
