Will You Hold Me Close?
Will you hold me close to you tonight
and take my fear away?
For in my mind I know that this
closeness just won't stay.
But if you hold me close tonight
then I can always remember
how you made me feel so good
in the dark of night.
And even though I know my world
will never be the same,
I made the choice to love you
so I will share the blame.
And so this night, this final night
when you hold me close to you
will give me memories that will have to last
for my whole life through.
In the morning when you leave
I'll close my eyes in bed.
I'll think of how you held me
and all the words we've said.
Those words I must remember
so they'll stay inside of me.
For nothing else will soothe my heart
as far as I can see.
