It’s Nice
It’s nice to bring a smile
to a face sad and forlorn.
It’s nice to raise a laugh
when someone’s feeling down.
Some friends can do that
as a matter of course.
They make you feel special
when you don’t feel it.
It’s nice to chase someone’s blues away
when their world has dragged them down.
It’s nice to make them feel special
when they don’t feel that way about themselves,
but that is what friends are for,
to be there when you’re down
and turn your frown upside down.
It nice when we do this,
and we should do it more,
for making people happy
with laughter and a smile
is not really a chore.
If we all did it more often,
can you imagine
just how our world would be?
Probably filled with sunshine instead of pain.
