A Waking Day
The dew jewelled life
sparkles under the morning sun
at the beginning of a new day
as sleepy heads awaken
across the tundra of city life.
Mouths open wide in yawns
as alarm clocks ring the call
to awake from our dreamy hollows,
to rise for work or play
and greet the coming day.
