Quotes about yucca
Life's Longings
Down in dark doldrums fears fixate
upon vast gap twixt heavens high
and quandary's kernel: Time flies by,
love leaves, heart grieves regrets too late.
Age rues youth's fizzle, former state,
hopes hinging on dea[r]th's mirthless 'why? '
as jeroboam from which fly
can't drain a drop, perpetuate
life's longings, cannot integrate
dust sediment in desert dry,
or moth-less yucca stamen shy
where stigma vainly contemplate
that Death's dark drizzle/sizzle lasts.
Deprived of hummus, humour fasts.

The Rainy Mountain School
There was a school on Rainy Mountain
A mountain named by the Kiowa’s
A beautiful mountain it has always been
And has been an enormous draw
Prickly Pear and Yucca plants
Are vegetation that can be seen
Herds of cows also roamed
But it wasn’t always considered a dream
For winters were vicious and mean
As storms blew with tremendous rage
The beauty of this mountain
Went through a different stage
The mission school was built
In 1892 and till 1922 it ran
This was a boarding school that
Taught English to Kiowa children

God's Song
Cain slew abel, seth knew not why
For if the children of israel were to multiply
Why must any of the children die?
So he asked the lord
And the lord said:
Man means nothing, he means less to me
Than the lowliest cactus flower
Or the humblest yucca tree
He chases round this desert
'cause he thinks that's where i'll be
That's why i love mankind
I recoil in horror fro the foulness of thee
From the squalor and the filth and the misery
How we laugh up here in heaven at the prayers you offer me
That's why i love mankind
The christians and the jews were having a jamboree
The buddhists and the hindus joined on satellite tv
They picked their four greatest priests
And they began to speak
They said, "lord, a plague is on the world

A Treatise On Poetry: IV Natura
Pennsylvania, 1948-1949
The garden of Nature opens.
The grass at the threshold is green.
And an almond tree begins to bloom.
Sunt mihi Dei Acherontis propitii!
Valeat numen triplex Jehovae!
Ignis, aeris, aquae, terrae spiritus,
Salvete!—says the entering guest.
Ariel lives in the palace of an apple tree,
But will not appear, vibrating like a wasp’s wing,
And Mephistopheles, disguised as an abbot
Of the Dominicans or the Franciscans,
Will not descend from a mulberry bush
Onto a pentagram drawn in the black loam of the path.
But a rhododendron walks among the rocks

Flora
REMOTE from scenes, where the o'erwearied mind
Shrinks from the crimes and follies of mankind,
From hostile menace, and offensive boast,
Peace, and her train of home-born pleasures lost;
To fancy's reign, who would not gladly turn,
And lose awhile, the miseries they mourn
In sweet oblivion ? Come then, Fancy ! deign,
Queen of ideal pleasure, once again,
To lend thy magic pencil, and to bring
Such lovely forms, as in life's happier spring,
On the green margin of my native Wey,
Before mine infant eyes were wont to play,
And with that pencil, teach me to describe
The enchanting goddess of the flowery tribe,
Whose first prerogative it is to chase
The clouds that hang on languid beauty's face;
And, while advancing suns and tepid showers,
Lead on the laughing Spring's delicious hours,
Bid the wan maid the hues of health assume,
