Unmet Need

I know not that for which I yearn
But know my life is incomplete,
At night I lie and toss and turn
But always I meet with defeat.

Sometimes my heart will miss a beat.
I know not that for which I yearn
A malady I cannot treat
Sometimes it goes but will return.

Perhaps in due course I will learn
What I must know to be complete.
I know not that for which I yearn
Until I know I can’t compete.

So like an echo I repeat
What must I do to earn
full forgiveness for my deceit
I know not that for which I yearn.

Once upon a time, a child was born
With a light, to carry on,

Only one true perfect love no more searching

Always searching for a love we think we'll never find.
Oh heartache after heartache we start losing faith.

From mistakes we can't escape.
Our shattered dreams start burying us in darkness until we can no longer see the light.
Hate for ourselves and others start building up.
From all the shame, guilt, regret, and lies
we wonder who we are and how we've fallen so far.
Why can't we find someone to love us the way we yearn to be loved?
How does love turn to hate so fast?
Why does everyone give up?

Always searching for a love we think we'll never find.
Oh heartache after heartache we start losing faith.

She Touches A Sad String Of Soft Recall

Return, return! all night my lamp is burning,
All night, like it, my wide eyes watch and burn;
Like it, I fade and pale, when day returning
Bears witness that the absent can return,
Return, return.

Like it, I lessen with a lengthening sadness,
Like it, I burn to waste and waste to burn,
Like it, I spend the golden oil of gladness
To feed the sorrowy signal for return,
Return, return.

Like it, like it, whene'er the east wind sings,
I bend and shake; like it, I quake and yearn,
When Hope's late butterflies, with whispering wings,

Hero's Return

In a time of fear and confusion,
silence charging the air
The sunlight is gone, darkness lives on
in the heart of the dragons lair
Lost in a world of illusions
No trace of the missing ore
Stealing our souls, were out of control,
knocking at deaths door
All our beliefs fading into ashes
Heed the words that we pray
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
Now we charge, the battle is raging,
blood runs everywhere
Our anger is fierce, avenging the years
No time for a final prayer
