Scope of life

Scope this out
I have no doubt
I see what's going on

My heart is blessed
With scope I guess
To see what's going on around me

The scope of my thoughts are manic at time
But survivors are greater than those who give up
To the thoughts that make our emotions erupt

We look beyond the bad and good
We live our lives like God says we should

So scope this out
I have no doubt
That heaven is what's going on.

By the pale marge of Acheron,
Me thinks we shall pass restfully,
Beyond the scope of any sun.

There all men hie them one by one,
Far from the stress of earth and sea,
By the pale marge of Acheron.

'Tis well when life and love is done,
'Tis very well at last to be,

No busy voices there shall stun

The Highgrounder

Far away on the planet Highground
A ‘Highgrounder' heard a most hideous sound!
He took out his scope, to locate the vibration
and soon it came up with the planets location.

It was a planet called Earth far away near a sun,
from where there was coming a most awful hum.
There was chirping and grunting, mooing and more.
There was roaring and snoring and bleating galore!

The loudest of all was a chattering noise
it came, said the scope from some humanoids
The scope said, "look here, if you've got any sense,
you'll avoid planet Earth, the gossips immense!

You can't say a thing without somebody chattering
and hell, if you're famous you'll take such a hammering.
Whatever it was that they first heard you say
will just be mistold in a couple of days."

Margaret Alice Comment: Within the context set by the previous poem, “Cosmic Probe”, the description of a lover’s adoration for his beloved becomes a universal ode sung to the abstract values of love, joy and hope personified by light, colours, fragrance and beauty, qualities the poet assigns to his beloved, thus elevating her to the status of an uplifting force because she brings all these qualities to his attention. The poet recognises that these personified values brings him fulfilment and chose the image of a love relationship to illustrate how this comes about; thus a love poem becomes the vehicle to convey spiritual epiphany.

Hieroglyphic Beguile Meant

HIEROGLYPHIC BEGUILE...MEANT

I sought inspiring way to play “beguile”
blood's flood rush-blushing flush, then hibernate,
lush, hid ‘mid hieroglyphics of soft smile.
It dawned that very few can reconcile
emotions' brakes while breaking conscious state,
to draw more definitions for “beguile”.
Most, blind behind closed minds, can’t conjugate
dimensions manifold, unfold, translate,
decypher hieroglyphics of soft smile.

It takes so many lifetimes to compile
right signals light, bright eyes communicate
decoding definitions for “beguile”
into word worlds both varied, versatile,
deep, difficult to truly contemplate -
expanding hieroglyphics of soft smile.
