Shouldn't Be

Refuge centres, care homes and the like,
All vying for their cause or plight.
Even the last place like hospices,
Relying on subsidies, to ease last wishes.

Charity for kids abused,
Donation money misused.
Just one story,
Of one charity.

Most are reputable, I'd like to agree,
But money breeds corruption, in our caring society.
An allowed travesty in a democracy.

Whatever form of government, plain to see,
All of the above shouldn't be.

Of The Visage Of Things

OF the visages of things--And of piercing through to the accepted

Dodging Bullets

Never will a resolution,
Stick to fit...
Without some exchanging done to it.
By the ones quick to fast step,
In a rendition of a song and dance...
To skip over,
What has been targeted...
For a direct hit.

People of today arrive prepared,
To dismiss what they say...
And come equipped,
For a dodging of bullets...
That get to close to their slick mental trips.
Just to trick those conscious and analytical.
And ready to shoot holes into a claimed and reputable,
Credibility that is questionable!

A Polite Refusal

When you think there cannot be
anyone for you, then why not me?
I am reputable, firm and kind.
I'm not a bad looker you will find.
I never overstep my bounds,
neither do I make the rounds.
I'm happy to indulge a glass of wine
but only when I'm about to dine.
I keep myself content with sport.
I'm one that's never been to court.
I polish my shoes 'til they do shine.
I'm sure you'd be happy if you were mine.

Dear Sir, 'tis quite a resume
and I'm sure that you will find a way
to enchant someone to be your wife
and live an uncomplicated life.
As for me I cannot conceive
of a life with you for I do believe
I'd die of boredom within a week

Buying Gifts

The veil of heart to lift,
And to evince the concern and love,
One is found to plough
Through the shops for a gift.

To present many occasions crop:
Festivals, Ceremonies and Birthdays,
Seasons Greetings and Wedding days,
None are we prepared to drop.

One goes for a present, hunting
The scale and variety on display,
Boggles the mind at the array,
And stands confused and wondering!

If it's for a bubbly little kid,
The toy shouldn't hurt or break,
And be of reputable make:
Yet within the purse's grid.

Cranking Up of Notches

We live in times that reveal the use,
Of lowdown tactics.
Anything mentioned and innuendoed,
Is subject for destruction.
And immediate devastation showing to expose.

Everyone demands their desires be represented.
No one chooses to hear with clarity,
Facts and reason researched.
People are prepared to lurch and attack.
With or without assessing what 'is' or 'is not' true.

Many have been through,
The cranking up of notches.
Many have been accused...
Based on suggestion alone.

But we live in those times that reveal the use,
