The Poppy

To Monica

Summer set lip to earth's bosom bare,
And left the flushed print in a poppy there:
Like a yawn of fire from the grass it came,
And the fanning wind puffed it to flapping flame.

With burnt mouth, red like a lion's, it drank
The blood of the sun as he slaughtered sank,
And dipped its cup in the purpurate shine
When the Eastern conduits ran with wine.

Till it grew lethargied with fierce bliss,
And hot as a swinked gipsy is,
And drowsed in sleepy savageries,
With mouth wide a-pout for a sultry kiss.

Death Is In Love With Us

I know it hurts too much
I know that youre scared
I know youre running out of trust
Wishing you were dead
In your misery
Youre not alone

And witness it all go wrong
I know it and I feel it
Just as well as you do, honey

We All Are Only Here

We all are only here on a life's journey
A journey that will have an end one day
A journey that for all will have an ending
Whether we travel far from home or at home stay.

The reaper is the champion egalatarian
For he treats everybody as the same
He does not bow to president or monarch
Or draw distinctions between anonymity and fame.

Humans are not that different to other life forms
Since we too are only born for to die
The woodlouse who hides under a stone in the garden
In many ways no less a mortal than i.

So many people weighted down by their egos
Success is a thing that can go to the head
But the reaper is the renowned egalatarian
You will not find any egos amongst the dead.

Just One More Dead Hero

So much about his courage we have heard of and read
So sad about the brave man so sad to hear he's dead
A decorated soldier from a war far away
The Reaper claimed the life from him suppose he had his day
One the nationalists and patriots used to celebrate
But with the coward and the traitor he shared a common fate
Not one to respect money or bravery or fame
To the Reaper the life of the coward and the hero are equal and the same
Though memories of the man he was will take some time to fade
Next year he won't be around to march in the war veterans parade
Ninety two when he died his best days long gone
Just one more dead hero and life does go on
The coward and the hero and those of wealth and fame
Are made equal by the Reaper he treats them as the same.
