Incredulous Creed

Inflated are their claims to fame,
And nonexisting deeds.
Overblown has been their worth to others...
And what they have done,
To fulfill the 'little people' and their needs.

With destruction they've created opportunities,
For themselves.
And to feast like beasts...
Has been their thoughtless spreading of disease.

With division and conflict they have manage to suppress,
Those they have chosen and believed...
Were powerless,
With no defense.

Blasphemistic Emoting Hypocrites

Turned off I am,
By those in church voice.
Softly spoken scripture quoting,
Folks who approach...
Those with souls to save.

~They seem to be all over the place,
These days.~

Passing out their leaflets,
Depicting the end of life as known.
With pictures of Sunbeamed disciples,
With wings and halos worn and overblown.
Blazing away and being lifted up by the rays.

And when these folks are safe,
In shelters behind closed doors.
They pick up their phones,
To gossip with neighbors.
To talk about the minister.

No-one on earth could feel like this.
I'm thrown and overblown with bliss.
There must be an angel
Playing with my heart.
I walk into an empty room
And suddenly my heart goes "boom"!
It's an orchestra of angels
And they're playing with my heart.

Most people here agree that the rhetoric got overblown on both sides of the Atlantic before the Iraq war, and it was a disagreement among friends over the timing, not the substance, of the Iraq war.

When I'm writing the book I'm laughing at just how overblown the characters seemed. How full of himself he seems. But I didn't get far enough in the series to really drive the joke of it home.
