One more rose

One more rose in our family
We all remained awake wearily
It was expected at any time
The child’s cry made clock to tick that time

We all noted arrival from heaven
The prophesy from elders was proven
It is good omen and sign in the family
Everybody must rejoice and accept it happily

Many people die childless with so much to their regret
It is blessing from heaven so not to be taken as bad luck or fate
Not all people may be that much lucky or have it with choice
So early morning cry from child was heard like cuckoo’s voice

“I will be called grandpa” how much joy it generated
Gave enough of joy and occasion was certainly to be celebrated
My feet were taking unusual steps to spread news
Though it was known to family members and to others very few

A defence line

The country is secured by its own fellow citizens
No out side help can save even if it comes then
It is national pride and sacrifice that may help
All necessary precaution can stave off situation with correct steps

It is our sacred duty to rush for help and defend
You must rush for help and can’t pretend
It has to be protected at all cost
It must occupy our attention and remain upper most

We are duty bound and committed to defend territorial integrity
Whether it is in case of internal disturbances or by mutiny
The state must find itself in preparedness and challenge
It is their internal matter and must be able to manage

It gives sense of belonging to the motherland
Strong nations may try to be hostile or be friend
The diplomacy must also play part to ward off danger
Nothing should be thought of out of anger

I

A washing hangs upon the line,
but it's not mine.
None of the things that I can see
belong to me.
The neighbors got a radio with an aerial;
we got a little portable.
They got a lot of closet space;
we got a suitcase.

I say, "Le Roy, just how much are we owing?
Something I can't comprehend,
the more we got the more we spend...."

Ch 03 On The Excellence Of Contentment Story 28

It is related that an athlete had been reduced to the greatest distress by adverse fortune. His throat being capacious and his hands unable to fill it, he complained to his father and asked him for permission to travel as he hoped to be hoped to be able to gain a livelihood by the strength of his arm.

Excellence and skill are lost unless exhibited.
Lignum aloes is placed on fire and musk rubbed.

The father replied: ‘My son, get rid of this vain idea and place the feet of contentment under the skirt of safety because great men have said that happiness does not consist in exertion and that the remedy against want is in the moderation of desires.

No one can grasp the skirt of luck by force.
It is useless to put vasmah on a bald man’s brow.
If thou hast two hundred accomplishments for each hair of thy head
They will be of no use if fortune is unpropitious.
What can an athlete do with adverse luck?
The arm of luck is better than the arm of strength.

The son rejoined: ‘Father, the advantages of travel are many, such as recreation of the mind entailing profit, seeing of wonderful and hearing of strange things, recreation in cities, associating with friends, acquisition of dignity, rank, property, the power of discriminating among acquaintances and gaining experience of the world, as the travellers in the Tariqat have said:

As long as thou walkest about the shop or the house
Thou wilt never become a man, 0 raw fellow.
