Quotes about mired

Yesterdays

Jerome kern / otto harbach
Yesterdays
Days are new as happy sweet
Sequestered days
Olden days
Golden days
Days of mad romance and love
Them gay youth was mine
Truth was mine
Join us be in flame and live
Then sooth was mine
Sad and mired
Glad and mired
For today Im dreamin of
Yesterdays

Goth culture, as mired in the past as it is, even it goes through changes, so Goth when I was growing up is not what it is now. When I think of Goth culture as it is at the moment I think of mall culture.

Sugar Moon Sacrifice

sugar moon sacrifice
red sky dawn
tiger claw-like
fingernails
dig in earth

morning’s rescue
fades beyond
the depths
of the watery
abyss

broken life mired
behind veil of
truth and lies
falls forever
silent

Now that our troops are mired in a dangerous effort to defeat the insurgency and are also trying to help rebuild the country, Americans of all political persuasions simply want the United States to succeed and our troops to be as safe as possible.

It is sad that while science moves ahead in exciting new areas of research, fine-tuning our knowledge of how life originated and evolved, creationists remain mired in medieval debates about angels on the head of a pin and animals in the belly of an Ark.

Remedies to health

Tired?
Katha Yoga sooths aching muscles.
Wired?
Dhyan rests the warring mind.
Uninspired?
Spontaneous movements in
Dance or play tones the sagging thought.
Mired?
Involvement in arts, music or writing
Unlashes the crippled bodily Instincts.
12.1.2002
(hatha yoga = yoga exercises; dhyan = mditaion)

Too Long Gone

Big guns shoot and limp off fields.
Mired deep...
In failed ancient philosophies.

Crippled mentalities,
Rush to heal from wounds quick.
With hopes to return to an existence,
Missed.
But too long gone.

Too long.
Too long.
Too long...
In the worship of the wrongs.

Out of minds weakened.
No longer found to be strong!

Too long.
Too long.

The Other Warrior

taking the victory, let none escape
ensuring no vengeance takes shape
through murder, pillage and rape

basking in glory, steal the prize
never seeing the pain which lies
behind blind, defeated eyes

mired in mud, join in cacophony
heart hard, black and ugly
ignorant of the final irony

bathing in blood, exalt in battle
sword slaying enemies like cattle
never hearing your own death's rattle

Night Ride

Night Ride

The sun lights only to trail dark
Like this car lighting to trail dark
Along its night ride

I turn back to count the gone days
I've lived so far in breathed lighting
Just to find nothing

Dark and dark alone, nothing else
I doubt I lived atall ever
Mired mind tired musing

Bends and turns hit the journey on
Trailing still the car dark behind
Sealed with odds and ends

I gaze at the forerunning light
Waiting for the heavenly arc

Fragments from the Beach

(Nonasyllabics)

In retrospect the tragic nature
of sea is a taste wept too daily,
too depleted by freedom's rupture;
the eyes have other secrets to see

and deeper use for the detritus
within us: the bright effluvium
of ego dries up, mired as it is
in wealth, that remedial medium.

Blame it on fate, on beach memories--
pebble put in the pocket or shell
fragments; any memento carries
us as much as we it. Time capsule

contains every evening's interval.
The ocean observes its own puddle.
