Quotes about maiming

Never Ready For a Maiming

I'm not a cough dropp popper,
To hide a tainted breath.
If my breath gets that bad,
I'll get myself arrested.

You may offer your suggestions,
If onions eatened overwhelm.
But we're not together kissing.
So dismiss what you smell.

You're not all that...
To get me to believing there's an interest.

You ask me why my shoes aren't spitshined.
And my tie not straight...
As if we're dating,
To become cell mates.

Don't aggitate me please,
I'm not ready for it!

D.H. Lawrence

Oh, what a catastrophe for man when he cut himself off from the rhythm of the year, from his unison with the sun and the earth. Oh, what a catastrophe, what a maiming of love when it was a personal, merely personal feeling, taken away from the rising and the setting of the sun, and cut off from the magic connection of the solstice and the equinox!

Leaves and thorns

It is greed in you that motivates you
To do all evils maiming conscience.
To block greed's entry, your skin must grow thick
To bear heat and cold and tread leaves and thorns.

Hatch

Hatch the egg offered above the shelf,
Inside, the foetus is maiming itself.
Help it - one more will be orchestral,
Like a person who is minstrel,
As many as a group of heavenly children
Who grasp their path to the age of eleven.

Atkins

Yonder's the man with his life in his hand,
Legs on the march for whatever the land,
Or to the slaughter, or to the maiming,
Getting the dole of a dog for pay.
Laurels he clasps in the words 'duty done,'
England his heart under every sun:-
Exquisite humour! that gives him a naming
Base to the ear as an ass's bray.

Aim high, to live high

Having chased a bull is more a valour
Than capturing a mule.
Having aimed at a lion is more chivalrous
Than maiming a hare.
Having lost to an angel is far better
Than courting a devil.
To win over the heart of the virtuous is manly rather
Than being with the randy woman.
To dive for a pearl is a better venture
Than fishing from the bank.
So I prefer losing you to getting any.
I prefer loving you to being loved by any.

Save The Girls, Not The Afghan Honor

It is appalling but a reality
Sometimes it makes us sick
To witness such human cruelty
So disgusting it defies logic.

This culture of social injustice
On innocent Afghan girls
Must be cut, totally abolished
Outlawed by the whole world.

Beating them up and maiming
When they refuse the marriage bond
Is beyond abuse that's sickening
It destroys the young of the land.

Young girls who refuse are killed
As the despicable fathers reason
It's a dishonor to him fulfilled -
What a warped culture he relies on!

Church Street Bomb blast

Forgive
forgive them
who set the bomb
slaughtering nineteen people
wounding and maiming two hundred more
who sit in parliament with blood on their hands
being responsible in ordering numerous killings,
not being held responsible or caring about it now,
killing innocent civilian children, women and men
whose blood, body parts, guts and broken bodies I saw
and now the elements have washed away what was left of some
and yet I will not forget this madness and cruelty, which made man loose all humanity.

Until the end of it

One day I will have
my death of her
and let her fade away
out of my heart
and we will part.

Even if she still
is part of me
I’ll bury every feeling
letting it slip into iniquity
and maiming myself
until what’s left
is only me.

Even if it be her
that makes me breathe,
that gives colour
to every leave,

even if it guts me
