Quotes about litter

In My Mind! All This Time

Your per-son-ality...
Was not just picked from any litter.
Your dig-ni-ty...
Is of the best I've ever seen.

You are so far from routine,
And it gets so hard to leave...
The matter of affection I feel.
That matter of affection felt.

Your Per,
Son...
Ality!
Was not just picked from any litter.
And your,
Dig...
Ni,
Ty! ?
Is of the best I've ever seen.

Muley Malak

THUNDER of guns, and cries—banners and spears and blood!
Troops have died where they stood holding the vantage points—
They have raced like waves at a wall, and dashed themselves to death.

Dawn the fight begin, and noon was red with its noon.
The armies stretch afar—and the plain of Alcazar
Is drenched with Moorish blood.

On one side, Muley the King—Muley Malek the Strong.
He had seized the Moorish crown because it would fit his brows.
Hamet the Fair was king; but Muley pulled him down, because he was strong.

The fierce sun glares on the clouds of dust and battlesmoke,
The hoarsened soldiers choke in the blinding heat.
Muley the King is afield, but sick to the death.
Borne on a litter he lies, his blood on fire, his eyes
Flaming with fever light.
Hamah Tabah the Captain, stands by the curtained bed,
Telling him news of the fight—how the waves roll and rise, and clash and mingle and seethe.
And Hamah bends to the scene. He peers under arched hand—

The Last Rose Of Autumn

Upon the leaf litter that covers the ground
The faded rose petals lay scattered around
The last rose of Autumn has answered the call
Of the cold grim reaper and so too must we all.

The last rose of Autumn she too had her day
She bloomed bright and lovely through June from late May
But the beautiful pink flower the last on her tree
Has returned to Nature and so too must we.

And now on the rose tree the tiny buds show
The green baby buds that to pink roses will grow
And in the green parkland the birds chirp and sing
And the magpies stick gathering at the coming of Spring.

Upon the leaf litter now faded and gray
The last rose of Autumn has gone to decay
And the mother who bore her has new baby flowers
And the fate of the rose it will also be ours.

Armistice Day

‘Died some pro patria non dulce non et decor.'
So Ezra Pound adapted Horace's lines
for those whose sufferings for their nation
had bred a dull, dark, painful generation
with gloria cauterised from their minds.

In the calendar their deaths are still recorded.
Poppies and medals and uniforms are worn.
Services are held and sacrifices lauded.
Public concern and private grief are borne.

On a cold November day.
In a cold November wind.

In Oxford 1993,
in remembrance of their sufferings and trials,
cars are towed untidily from St. Giles
and scattered without symmetry in surrounding streets.
To protect old rememberers
from new bombs.

This New Shamful Nigeria

I remember 14 to 17 years ago
When i was giving 18 naira to buy fuel
The pump will sell accurate amount with its litter fitting the litter of the keg
But now if you are not that smart you will pay for the same litters with nothing or little
inside your tank or get
Yes this is our new Nigeria let's embrace it

Do you remember those weekends then
When party will be every where and people will eat and still pack home
And on it next monday on our way to school you will see food waste mounted up as hill on the road side
Please do anyone still see such?
And we were told our land is full with milk and honey
But it a pity not all of us got access to that honey

Heal our land oh lord
Heal it from this flu that is spreading rapidly
Heal our land oh lord cause this disease is spreading fast
And it killing our young ones
Sending the stars of this land to the land beyond

Elegy on a Lady, whom Grief for the Death of her Betrothed Killed

Assemble, all ye maidens, at the door,
And all ye loves, assemble; far and wide
Proclaim the bridal, that proclaimed before
Has been deferred to this late eventide:
For on this night the bride,
The days of her betrothal over,
Leaves the parental hearth for evermore;
To-night the bride goes forth to meet her lover.

Reach down the wedding vesture, that has lain
Yet all unvisited, the silken gown:
Bring out the bracelets, and the golden chain
Her dearer friends provided: sere and brown
Bring out the festal crown,
And set it on her forehead lightly:
Though it be withered, twine no wreath again;
This only is the crown she can wear rightly.

Cloak her in ermine, for the night is cold,
And wrap her warmly, for the night is long;

A Legend Of Christ's Nativity

At Bethlehem upon the hill,
The day was done, the night was nigh,
The dusk was deep and had its will,
The stars were very small and still,
Like unblown tapers, faint and high.

The noises had begun to fall,
And quiet stole upon the place,
The howl of dogs along the wall,
Voices that from the houstops call
And answer, and the grace

Of some low breath of even-song
Grew faint apace: between the rocks
In misty pastures, and along
The dim hillside with crook and thong
The lonely shepherds watched their flocks.

The Inn-master within the Inn
Called loudly out after this sort,

Countin' The Cows Ev'ry Day

Oh i'm just a cowboy, an old hired hand
Never seen nothin' majestic or grand
I just received a great big tax return
Now i'm off to las vegas with money to burn
It's been a while since i last left this town
Bought a new suit and i'm nevada bound
Gonna make it, gonna break it, i've been there before
Nothin's gone wrong, this town's such a bore
Chorus:
Aw, the train leaves at seven, all go to heaven
Nothin' here to make me stay
'cause that las vegas glitter sure beats kitty litter
Countin' the cows every day
Chorus:
Yeah, the train leaves at seven, on up to heaven
Nothin' here to make me stay
'cause that las vegas glitter sure beats kitty litter
Countin' the cows every day
And countin' the cows every day
