Quotes about hoarding

Filippo Baldinucci on the Privilege of Burial

"No, boy, we must not"—so began
My Uncle (he's with God long since),
A-petting me, the good old man!
"We must not"—and he seemed to wince,
And lost that laugh whereto had grown
His chuckle at my piece of news,
How cleverly I aimed my stone—
"I fear we must not pelt the Jews!

"When I was young indeed,—ah, faith
Was young and strong in Florence too!
We Christians never dreamed of scathe
Because we cursed or kicked the crew.
But now, well, well! The olive-crops
Weighed double then, and Arno's pranks
Would always spare religious shops
Whenever he o'erflowed his banks!

"I'll tell you"—and his eye regained
Its twinkle—"tell you something choice!

The Growth of Love

1
They that in play can do the thing they would,
Having an instinct throned in reason's place,
--And every perfect action hath the grace
Of indolence or thoughtless hardihood--
These are the best: yet be there workmen good
Who lose in earnestness control of face,
Or reckon means, and rapt in effort base
Reach to their end by steps well understood.
Me whom thou sawest of late strive with the pains
Of one who spends his strength to rule his nerve,
--Even as a painter breathlessly who stains
His scarcely moving hand lest it should swerve--
Behold me, now that I have cast my chains,
Master of the art which for thy sake I serve.

2
For thou art mine: and now I am ashamed
To have uséd means to win so pure acquist,

Wealth and Power

Flaunting wealth gives pride and irritates others.
Hoarding wealth earns ranks but invites jealousy.
Having power is strength and a target too.
With these in mind, earn and grow the children.

Dangerous

A mind that knows,
The definition of conformity
And comprehends who benefits,
With full pockets unwilling to share.
Staring at faces not reflecting theirs,
Is dangerous for those who find themselves...
Opposed and hoarding!

Like birds and beasts

Like birds and beasts
I being a man enjoying
Sense pleasures.
More and more I am desiring
Objects and money and I
Indulge in hoarding money
And adopting foul means
Falsehood fraud thefts robberies
And I am proud of myself
I am totally damned.

Materialism

What is materialism?
Affluence and lavishness,
Extravagance and pomposity,
Hoarding and possessiveness,
Or miserliness or being a spendthrift?
No,
Swindling to spend,
Smuggling to spend
and wasting the abundance.
Can’t you avoid materialism?

my nest, re-arrange twigs
i laugh has sense of humor
likes words arrangement
left it alone; i don't mind
visited couple of times

others would say a devilish
for me a whisper from above
doing for shear fun, power
over things that's has value
to somebody hoarding :)
