Herd, heard!
Move, drove, dove, cove, clove, glove, trove;
Armies, spies, flies, families, willies, homilies, butterflies! !
But, this garden is down under there;

Raining,
Fitness lady,

Cheer leaders! !

Affection,

But, time for action! !

Mother Becomes Daughter

The shopping mall
Brimmed with crowd
Individuals and families
With children and parents
Youths and elderly
Swarmed from everywhere!
Mothers got busy
In getting the correct size
Picking the right color
Checking the fitness
Buying bangles and belts
All ornamental in entirety!

Suddenly I saw a pram
Pushed forth by a small girl
Inside that, was not a child
But an invalid mother!
Mother was uneasy;
Daughter got busy;
She got the correct size

The Anchor

Firm trust of the bold sailor on the shores of sudden storm,
What strength is in its structure and the fitness of its form!
Old ocean’s bed-rock gripping, with the hurricane’s tug ’twill cope,
And therefore ’tis the emblem held of man’s eternal hope.
Through the billows ceaseless raging, by the bleak and stormy steep,
Like a thunderbolt down-rushing it is shot into the deep;
Down where some mute sea-monster its so hideous bulk uprears,
And mightiest silence drowned hath lain for many a thousand years.

In some famed bay of battle when ’tis plunged with sullen roar,
In the Nile, In Navarino, or by Danish Elsinore,
How deep there shall its slumbers be beneath the sounding waves,
Amid the bones of gallant tars in glory’s watery graves.

In the bright and landlocked harbour, the weary voyage o’er,
When only pleasant breezes breathe sweet welcome from the shore,
Its massive form down-dropping to its quiet bed below
Gives signal to the first glad boat that beachward pants to go.

Training For Christ

It is good to be physically fit, but what about our soul and spirit?
For it’s a man’s spirit and soul, which makes him spiritually whole.
Physical fitness now my friend, has no spiritual benefit in the end,
But it’s the training in godliness, which leads us to spiritual fitness.

All us who belong to God’s Son, need to train for the life to come,
Through the Spirit of Jesus Christ, for the present and a future life,
Our manual is the Word of God, as we labor upon this earthly sod,
With eternity as our final goal, we need training for our eternal soul.

Exercises for our heart and mind, with a training of a different kind,
And memory is the place to start, as we hide The Word in our heart.
This won’t strength us physically, but prepare our souls for eternity,
And as God’s Truth we do recall, we’re lifted up as we begin to fall.

This training by The Spirit inside, helps believers in Christ, to abide,
As The Lord transforms our mind, leaving old worldly ways behind.
This as we exercise our new life, living for The Savior, Jesus Christ,
And when we’re lifted from that fall, it’s in Christ, we then stand tall.

New Traditionalists

'Who are you listening to?
How do you like this new guy.
The one that's coming to office.'

I'm listening to some old Devo stuff.
'The New Traditionalists'.
Had it since 1981.
Back then in the 'day'
They were calling this 'new wave' music.

At first...
I admit I was excited.
Just the thought of the President of The United States,
Actually 'playing' basketball.
Not golf or tennis...
But basketball.
He's coming in with a whole new set of rules.
And it may look easy,
But basketball is a rough and physical game!
