Hurt and tense are writer's slaves
So she'll slash through page by page
Burning holes with vivid tongue
Still the feeling strikes as young

Through and through this time again
Misery welcomes her like a friend
Slash and slash and through and through
She spells her feelings as if they're new

Instead of skin she beats a page
A healthy cure, sure, lest she names
These demons, the things that she writes about
That she names other names to give them doubts

Things like this she knows all too well
Her hurts and pains often etch the spell
Before she even thinks to open her eyes
She's solved her feelings with a metaphor for cries

Vicious Repetitiousness

As night comes...
I begin hours of denial.
Why I put myself on trial,
I ask...
And hear no response.
Why have I allowed my emotions
To stack and pile?
As if someone will discover them,
And take the time to sit with them awhile!
As night comes...
I smile as I revisit memories.
I am connected until sunrise
When dawn begins to etch and leave shadows!
Upon grass and leaves...
Robins seen and Sparrows!

This darkness on my shoulder rides and whispers.
Influenced and addicted I become.
Succumbed and borrowing moments,
From a youth unchallenged that has gone!

Dedicate Dream

Majestic maiden smiles, complete man scans
Amazed, nears woman angel, sacred, fault free
Unsung soul's crux, unused, dumb, soundless, can
Draw down, dropp dead-end deeds, and open key,
Etch heaven, heart enfeebled help, smart plan
Meld to mimamsa aim, dharma moments. Agree
As swept away are cares. Sea, earth round span,
Uniting human nature's future study
Destined idyll addressed, - add locked doors ban.
Ease scene. Remember if metered harmony
Mends madmen all, smart art may man pavan,
Age damns all hurrahs unshared - absurdity!
Unbundle unused fund of truth found dear,
Dedicate dream! Cede man-made fool dealt fear.

A glimmer slowly seen,
and then, hope burned,
in the cold cavern.

Christmas Light

at the darkest, deadest, depressed
nature's hour,
holiness yeasted a light,
a glimmer, slowly seen,
and then hope burned,
and knowing slowly caught.

This is Christmas, light and dark,

Wounds that scab, but will not heal.

A broken heart once healed,
will never be the same.
Don't take things as they come,
but take it as a game.

To find a hurt once lost,
is to look beneath the skin.
To etch it very deep,
is to throw it to the wind.

Listless as you sleep,
the truth will haunt you still.
It wakes you in your dreams,
For now it always will.

Son, when I am dead
Put no angels at my head
Buy flowers for your girl instead

Son, when my soul has flown
Etch not my age in brass and stone
Write to your love or pickup the 'phone

I will come in a smile or your baby's hand
I will be at the seaside buried in sand

So son when I am read
Remember these little words I said
