I've got many close friends, but there's an awful lot about friendship that is not demonstrative in my case.

The subtle love
The dog that loves, wags
But not the calf that does.
Love subtle is more intense
Than the love demonstrative.

Our people, though capable of strong and durable feeling, were not demonstrative in their affection at any time, least of all in the presence of guests or strangers.

In the ordinary affairs of life we do not require nor expect demonstrative evidence, because it is inconsistent with the nature of matters of fact, and to insist on its production would be unreasonable and absurd.

A Duck Point Of View
when a man feeds a number of ducks
on the river
he thinks of the money and the meat
and the eggs
setting aside the noisy quacks
and the pestering constant
call for attention,
i wonder how the ducks see the man
his demonstrative care and charity?
did they see him as God?

If any human being earnestly desire to push on to new discoveries instead of just retaining and using the old to win victories over Nature as a worker rather than over hostile critics as a disputant to attain , in fact, clear and demonstrative knowlegde instead of attractive and probable theory we invite him as a true son of Science to join our ranks.

Modern Love XX: I Am Not of Those
I am not of those miserable males
Who sniff at vice and, daring not to snap,
Do therefore hope for heaven. I take the hap
Of all my deeds. The wind that fills my sails
Propels; but I am helmsman. Am I wrecked,
I know the devil has sufficient weight
To bear: I lay it not on him, or fate.
Besides, he's damned. That man I do suspect
A coward, who would burden the poor deuce
With what ensues from his own slipperiness.
I have just found a wanton-scented tress
In an old desk, dusty for lack of use.
Of days and nights it is demonstrative,
That, like some aged star, gleam luridly.
If for those times I must ask charity,
Have I not any charity to give?

Words And Words
let us have an illusion of words
mesmerize ourselves with the movements of its verbs
and pretend about the beautiful feeling of its adjectives
let nothing be too personal about nouns
let us not be too excited about some interjections
let us shy away from so many questions
no orders, no imperatives no coercions
for tonight let there be only demonstrative pronouns
lips kissing, arms embracing, neck petting,
thighs making on top of each other hands entwine
fingers running, abdomens ebbing
let all be not just wishes, let it not just be on subjunctive moods
let there be verbs of romance, let there be sentences of lust
let us forget for once the word much abused by all:
i do not wish to utter it, let not love be feigned.

Sunshine
Plagued by iniquity was I, until sunlight was offered to me
Nary may I extend recompense for what has been bestowed
From whence so much has been given, so too, so much is owed
Demonstrative of His omniscience, this, He proffered to me:
A gift sans pareil of radiant replendence, in human form-
A lasting brilliance, surely ne'er to wither nor to pall,
Alas, solace is provided as if to ease the fall,
Provide for inspiration, and ensure my soul's warmth!
Celestial magnanimity, love eternal and spirit pure
Define surely, the essence of her prescient import!
Naught shall there be to absent my majestic consort,
Upon our love's genesis, evident was the allure! !
Sunshine- a mere word falters to delimitate your essence;
An honor it has been, surely, I am humbled in your presence!
