Long long ago,
Once upon a time,
There was a beautiful village,
There was a beautiful school in that village,
There was a beautiful teacher in that school,

She... She... She....
She is now retired...
She is now old and
her hairs are grey;

Story is over... Brinjal is grown,
All of you go back to work.

Applauding A Boo

Vegetables on the chopping board
Inaugurate a television recital..
I chop chop
Recital going on
The lady joins me harmoniously
Chopping, chopping, chopping
Chopping the brinjal, raga
Potato, tala, onion, lyric
Her vocal chords strain to wriggle
The accompaniments, onion shed laughing tears
Dissonant, discordant, cacophony
Screaches to countless decibels
I'm chopping lady's finger
My finger weeps red

I saw an old man from Mozambique

Kenke jimi ho aaru karmi kana
e kame paemi kenu kete dam
Khaemi kana aaru rahemi kena
Kie achhe kena ho Kana thik kana bhul
Kahemi kentakari aaru janba kie
Han baluchha ki nein.

Kie chhinhichhe kahake
