Too much confusion (aaa-aaah), so much frustration, eh!
I dont wanna live in the park (live in the park);
Cant trust no shadows after dark (shadows after dark), yeah-eh!
So, my friend, I wish that you could see,
Like a bird in the tree, the prisoners must be free, yeah! (free)
Never make a politician (aaa-aaah) grant you a favour;
(doo-doo-doo-doo)
They will always want (aaa-aaah) to control you forever, eh!
(forever, forever)
So if a fire make it burn (make it burn, make it burn)
And if a blood make ya run (make ya run, run, run),
Rasta de pon top (aaa-aaah), cant you see? (doo-doo-doo-doo)

Of Hell And The Estate of Those Who Perish

hus, having show'd you what I see
Of heaven, I now will tell
You also, after search, what be
The damned wights of hell.

And O, that they who read my lines
Would ponder soberly,
And lay to heart such things betimes
As touch eternity.

The sleepy sinner little thinks
What sorrows will abound
Within him, when upon the brinks
Of Tophet he is found.

Hell is beyond all though a state
So doubtful[10] and forlorn,
So fearful, that none can relate
The pangs that there are born.

Ballad Of Dodgy Dave The Preacher Man (A Spoof Of Me)

He stood tall and strong
with a Bible in one hand
and a fist of iron as the other.
No one cusses during his sermons
or fell asleep there.
Fire and brimstone
was the way he spoke
and everyone listened.
He took an unruly congregation
and made them toe the line.
While they were in God’s house,
his words were their command.
He knew who the sinners were
and he would eye them out.
Once his gaze was on you,
the only one thing you could do
and that was repent your sins.
His name now lingers
on the tongues of men and women.
He has become a legend in his own time.

Steppingstone

Home (from Court Square Fountain—
where affluent ghosts still importune
a taciturn
slave to entertain
them with a slow barbarous tune
in his auctioned baritone—
to Hank Williams' headstone
atop a skeleton
loose in a pristine
white suit and bearing a pristine
white bible, to the black bloodstain
on Martin King's torn
white shirt and Jim Clark's baton,
which smashed black skulls to gelatin)
was home, at fifteen: brimstone
on Sunday morning, badminton
hot afternoons, and brimstone
again that night. Often,
as the preacher flailed the lectern,
the free grace I couldn't sustain

How Love Looked For Hell.

'To heal his heart of long-time pain
One day Prince Love for to travel was fain
With Ministers Mind and Sense.
`Now what to thee most strange may be?'
Quoth Mind and Sense. `All things above,
One curious thing I first would see --
Hell,' quoth Love.

'Then Mind rode in and Sense rode out:
They searched the ways of man about.
First frightfully groaneth Sense.
`'Tis here, 'tis here,' and spurreth in fear
To the top of the hill that hangeth above
And plucketh the Prince: `Come, come, 'tis here --'
`Where?' quoth Love --

'`Not far, not far,' said shivering Sense
As they rode on. `A short way hence,
-- But seventy paces hence:
Look, King, dost see where suddenly

Hellfire & Reuben Rose

A hundred and thirty years has passed
Since Reuben strode our turf,
A Hell-fire Methodist Preacher
Cursing souls with every breath,
He claimed an exclusive license, sanctioned
By our gracious Lord,
To dispense both sulphur and brimstone
To the sinners of the world.

At Moonta, in the mining days,
When copper ruled as king,
A fluctuation in the price
Soon ruined everything.
Families left in droves; for jobs
Were harder then to find,
The congregations withered,
They were the few that stayed behind.

There wasn't enough to pay the fund
To keep their minister,

Narrowmindedness

and then he came upon a town
that did not entertain him

he asks his men
to put it on fire
lash lightning and thunder
and throw the brimstone

flood the river with red blood
the air with fire

simply because he is slighted.

Brimstone was great. That was another occasion when they called me in to do the pilot and it turned into a regular job, which made me quite happy. It was another really good experience and we were all so surprised when they pulled the plug on it.

auction your ciphers
whether cryptic or plain;
express your disdain,
princes and paupers,
your joys and your pains

upload them web-wide,
your caustic protuberance;
spread digital conflagration
let relentless talons purge
the sting of sulfur on brimstone
