And headed off to bed,
She often spent the night away
Carousing with 'the girls',
The forty-something's group of them
Out on their monthly whirls.

They'd known each other all their lives
From kindergarten on,

Goose stepping Aryan Gods
blond hair blue eyes
master race inspires on parade

according to Nazi ideology
Hitler's ideal 'Germanic type'
has fair hair clear blue eyes

is slim and tall does not smoke
does not drink to excess does
not indulge in substance abuse

is chaste without any trace of
unwholesome sexual desires
no homosexuality nor sadism

Understand That This Is a Dream

Real as a dream
What shall I do with this great opportunity to fly?
What is the interpretation of this planet, this moon?
if I can dream that I dream / and dream anything dreamable / can I dream
I am awake / and why do that?
When I dream in a dream that I wake / up what
happens when I try to move?
I dream that I move
and the effort moves and moves
till I move / and my arm hurts
Then I wake up / dismayed / I was dreaming / I was waking
when I was dreaming still / just now.
and try to remember next time in dreams
that I am in dreaming.
And dream anything I want when I'm awaken.
When I'm in awakeness what do I desire?
I desire to fulfill my emotional belly.
My whole body my heart in my fingertops thrill with some old fulfillments.

Fresh Air

At the Poem Society a black-haired man stands up to say
“You make me sick with all your talk about restraint and mature talent!
Haven’t you ever looked out the window at a painting by Matisse,
Or did you always stay in hotels where there were too many spiders crawling on your visages?
Did you ever glance inside a bottle of sparkling pop,
Or see a citizen split in two by the lightning?
I am afraid you have never smiled at the hibernation
Of bear cubs except that you saw in it some deep relation
To human suffering and wishes, oh what a bunch of crackpots!”
The black-haired man sits down, and the others shoot arrows at him.
A blond man stands up and says,
“He is right! Why should we be organized to defend the kingdom
Of dullness? There are so many slimy people connected with poetry,
Too, and people who know nothing about it!
I am not recommending that poets like each other and organize to fight them,
But simply that lightning should strike them.”
Then the assembled mediocrities shot arrows at the blond-haired man.
The chairman stood up on the platform, oh he was physically ugly!

VA Pour Vapour

If one lover I lose
two replace as hot wire,
though vow, promise I use
to divert, set pace higher,
perjure, promise recuse,
soon in Time’s wind expire.

When a fair face I see
I feel sudden afire,
but for life lock love’s key
ain’t my style spite my lyre.
Constant court paid, for me,
is not goal I require

More flighty than moon, -
free range change I admire, -
blond, brunette, free to spoon.
Constant cravings soon tire:
both brunette, blond too soon
senses sap, jade desire.
