A New Horizon

Coming above is a new horizon, for all who are found in The Son,
But this horizon you can not see, as this horizon friend, is Eternity.
The Son is The Lord Jesus Christ, and the horizon is Eternal Life.
And no man can truly conceive this new horizon for all who believe.

This new horizon has much to behold, in a world that won’t grow old,
This world will be awesomely bright, for Jesus Christ will be the Light.
With this new world being totally pure, it shall endure forevermore.
Sin and darkness will be no more, they will be absent forevermore.

This new horizon was meant for all, to put behind man’s sin and fall,
This New Paradise that has no time, for it is Eternal by God’s design.
And even our bodies, racked with sin, are being renewed from within.
Although we have spiritually died, are new bodies shall be Glorified.

By God, Eternal beings we were made, this is why we’ve been saved,
God saved us from the Eternal Fire, for this my friend, is God’s desire.
Christ died so we won’t perish, and He is the one to eternally cherish.
For it’s only through God’s Son, that we can enter His Eternal Horizon.

The River

Last Sunday
I spent a whole day
with a beautiful river
trying to feel close
to each being, each thing,
even to become one with everything
that surrounded me.
In some way,
I learned from the natural
flow of water
what it means not to look back.
I should remember that river
every time I need to forget the past.
And it helps me to not mind much the now...
Why? Well don't you see how
"Now" is going into the Past fast?
So, the river taught me to aim forward.
It may last.
I tried to follow it
with my eyes towards the horizon.

Between the Now and Then

Upon horizon, night to day ~
there between the now and then,
I often pause along the way,
to tiptoe through the moonlit glen ~
or perhaps take in sun's light,
night to day ~ day to night.

Upon horizon, day to day ~
there between the then and now,
as seasons grow along the way,
to crease the face of timely brow ~
or perhaps steal time away,
day to day ~ day to day.

Upon horizon, day to night ~

I stand beneath my autumn light,
bereft as memory calls again ~
to pain the heart with bygone sight,

I'd give anything, everything
To have something better than this
Look there, do you see it
Something hidden beyond the horizon
And I'll watch it in the rain pouring down
Turn into fog, just a mystery
He looks for a glance out the window
Sees me sitting there, watching, in the rain
I'd give anything, everything

I see a memory, my memory
When I said, look there
But he didn't see it, never will see it
Something's there, hidden beyond the horizon

Sees me kissing my dreams in the rain
Turns away quickly with a bitter smile

Close to the Edge

My father was a sailor
He was always off the shore,
And I’d watch his sailboat ‘Ransom’
As it gaff-rigged past our door,
And he told me – ‘When you’re old enough
I’ll show you where they dwell,
The mermaids, with their necklaces,
Made out of cockleshells!

Then out on the verandah
He would stare straight out to sea,
Where the sun meets the horizon
Then he’d sit me on his knee,
And he’d tell me tales of Morgan,
Tales of Captain Kidd and Co.,
When they roamed the Caribbean
In the days of long ago.

Our Lady of the Mine

The Blue Horizon wuz a mine us fellers all thought well uv,
And there befell the episode I now perpose to tell uv;
'T wuz in the year uv sixty-nine,--somewhere along in summer,--
There hove in sight one afternoon a new and curious comer;
His name wuz Silas Pettibone,--a' artist by perfession,--
With a kit of tools and a big mustache and a pipe in his possession.
He told us, by our leave, he 'd kind uv like to make some sketches
Uv the snowy peaks, 'nd the foamin' crick, 'nd the distant mountain
stretches;
"You're welkim, sir," sez we, although this scenery dodge seemed to us
A waste uv time where scenery wuz already sooper-floo-us.

All through the summer Pettibone kep' busy at his sketchin',--
At daybreak off for Eagle Pass, and home at nightfall, fetchin'
That everlastin' book uv his with spider-lines all through it;
Three-Fingered Hoover used to say there warn't no meanin' to it.
"Gol durn a man," sez he to him, "whose shif'less hand is sot at
A-drawin' hills that's full uv quartz that's pinin' to be got at!"
"Go on," sez Pettibone, "go on, if joshin' gratifies ye;
But one uv these fine times I'll show ye sumthin' will surprise ye!"

7 Days on the Sea

Monday
The world is a ball of water.
See, it is round-sided.
I move across its topside,
upon the world, not in it.
The boat is a comb, acomb over idle
white hair.
Waves grow on a round skull
uncountable.
Sea, it is round-sided.
Fog is building a vessel.
Sea is the butt of a bottle.
Boat bobs in the center.
At the V
of the stern standing,
I see below me sea,
ceiling of fog, see
the round horizon, sea
tears on my cheeks. I see

Just Over The Horizon

Just over the horizon
there's a love that waits for me.
Just over the horizon,
the place that I can't see
is where we'll meet again my love
and then we will be free
to share again the warmth of love
to shine upon our face.
I look toward that horizon
somewhere out in space.

I am comforted in the knowing
that what I felt with you
is burning brightly every day
right beyond the blue.
There is no end to a love like ours.
There's only another start.
