God’s Trophies

I am but one trophy of God’s Grace, to be displayed in every place,
Each and every place, which I go, for His Matchless Grace to show.
God’s trophy for all eyes to see, what God’s Grace has done in me,
God’s trophy is my changed life, of what He’s done in Jesus Christ.

This world is God’s trophy case, filled with those changed by Grace,
Changed to live their lives for Him, the Savior, who died for their sin.
Other fallen sinners just like us, who in Christ have placed their trust,
Trusting in The Lord above, He saved and changed us by His blood.

We are set in place by God to shine, with a Love that’s purely divine,
With a glow that’s not from us, but from our Savior’s Righteousness.
And when we let our Shepherd lead, God brings others to their need,
Their own need of the Savior’s Light, to deliver them out of the night.

So that they shall be a trophy too, of God’s Grace, like me and you,
Another sinner that has a New Life, through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
One more, saved to be a vessel for, the Righteousness of The Lord,
With work by God prepared for us, who come to know Christ Jesus.

The Haglets

By chapel bare, with walls sea-beat
The lichened urns in wilds are lost
About a carved memorial stone
That shows, decayed and coral-mossed,
A form recumbent, swords at feet,
Trophies at head, and kelp for a
winding-sheet.

I invoke thy ghost, neglected fane,
Washed by the waters' long lament;

From Epidermal Taxidermy to Internal Epiphany

FROM EPIDERMAL TAXIDERMY TO INTERNAL EPIPHANY

Portrait of fair mind is neither, nor!
neither mastered nor in pieces shred,
displayed to touring tourists - Turrell's bore -
whose dreams no themes of genius hint ahead.
Could paint drip down to mop pain's vail of tears,
unveiling pooled oasis to exchange,
past wraith, fresh faith to grace remaining years,
then fears would fade before excitement strange.
From monochrome to rainbow glow display
“we are such stuff as dreams are made of” shows,
no lifeless stuffing, feathers drooping, fray;
vitality surpasses surface glows

Striving For Suffering

It is not achievements or goals or trophies
Or accolades or awards or the end itself
For which we strive, we as humans think that
Is what we desire, but
What we really seek is adversity and suffering
We all desperately long for it

Yo may at first think it strange or untrue
But in fact it is what we all yearn for, even you
Simply getting a trophy or award means nothing
IT is the work, the blood, sweat, and tears
That we all really desire, it's that something
There's a voice inside everyone hears
Pushing them to do more, to achievement,
but that achievement is wrought in suffering
Empowered by the pain and time, as if heaven-sent

Africa Hosts to Win

Good luck to all the African teams
I can already feel as Africa beams
my wish that an African team wins
Is not like searching in a bag of pins
but as a just reward for Africa’s toil
First ever world cup on African soil

Yes, the trophy goes to the very best
yet the race not to be for the swiftest
