My Eyes Are Getting Better
My eyes are getting better
as I get older
despite the sunspots
and leggy eclipses

Nothing is ever lost
What we haven’t said will be spelled by the wind
What we haven’t reached will be whispered in ashes
What we haven’t whispered will scream out in pain
Lies unthinkable of will spread the shame across the universe
The Truth hidden in dark cellars will shine over the spheres
As it already does in sparkles of beauty ruined at the entrance

Such as innocence
It’s important where and when
I saw that car come in
And back out of my eyes

It’s been seven years and a week since it happened
And all I see when such irony comes around
Was how it is that though you’re gone

I haven’t ate in days, haven’t slept in a week
