Quotes about horseback, page 3
The Goose-Girl
Spring rides no horses down the hill,
But comes on foot, a goose-girl still.
And all the loveliest things there be
Come simply, so, it seems to me.
If ever I said, in grief or pride,
I tired of honest things, I lied:
And should be cursed forevermore
With Love in laces, like a whore,
And neighbours cold, and friends unsteady,
And Spring on horseback, like a lady!

Early Works - The Sunshine Girl
Rainbow curves across the sky
after the rain has fallen,
petals glint of diamond jewels
after the dew has callin’,
a painter strokes his brush
like a moving finger across the canvas.
A writer with pen poised
near a sinking sun.
A girl on horseback
silhouetted on a purple hill.
A shrieking call for morning’s bid,
side by side we sleep
lost in dreams of tomorrow.

Command
Every morning I see the army commander
Provide command his soldiers
ran around the field
Before learning marching
Using weapons
Horseback riding
As he aimed his arrow into the target enemy
Far and near
Invisible to the eye, and which slipped quietly
In a blanket in the recesses of our hearts tonight
Hidden Enemy
A far more dangerous
From the superpower nuclear arms
More than just a play on words

Other God Was Sleeping
Time within the earth hour
was lengthening.
The other god was sleeping.
Becoming was inviting the death
while climbing.
Frostbite amputates the memory.
Ending without beginning,
I was asking the seeker to stop
searching the answers.
The houses were burning on the road,
silence, had a vertical sound,
no words, no tongue.
Death had tears of blood
riding on the horseback
it was charging on the wandering incense.

Sonnet: Rely In God
Like rider lone on horseback in desert,
While vultures scream encircling overhead;
To sun and wind and dusty storms inert,
In quest of hope-filled plains, I ride half-dead!
My horse is weary and I am tired;
The mirage of an ‘oasis’ I see;
The air I breathe is hotter expired;
I need water and food and rest surely.
And suddenly, I see a stream aflow!
But it is full of crocodiles afloat!
From one danger to another, I go;
To cross the stream, God must give me His boat.
The God who cared for me until today,
Will surely guide me rest of my long way.

interpretation of Odin's hanging
Odin hung
& all the following Old Norse mouthpieces of Odin
hung on Hávamál's Speech of the High One's windy
constantly verdant world tree
Yggdrasil
Ygg: 'the terrifying'
one of Odin's epithets
& drasil: 'horse'
hung pierced by a spear like a rider hit in battle
down from the horseback
& at the same time
at the same time like a fetus
for nine days with its head downwards
in a womb

Hold The Heart
Something magical happens
In bein' with a woman
Who can hold the heart and soul
Of an inamorato
Whether tall or short;
With whatever color eyes,
And however long hair;
With cinnamon skin
Or skin that is pale or dark
Something magical happens
Something magical happens
In seein' the lightness
And swiftness of movement
In watchin' her dance
Or ridin' horseback
Or brushin' her hair
In witnessin' her
Fervent attentions
Her ardent advances

A Knight's Meeting
splash splash, the waves came onto the shore
the knight on horseback, rode toward the maiden
oh the vision was so lovely and the sea so blue
across the golden sand he rode
big fluffy clouds floated across the evening sky
the full moon was just now, coming into view
could any scene be more lovely
the knight was mesmerized
the closer he came to the maiden, the more so-
who was this lovely maiden, by the aqua blue sea
when his horse drew near, 'whoa' he cried,
he saw the beauty and was unable to speak
for the first time ever in his life
the knight was speechless, lost in a trance

Life is a short journey.
Life is a short journey
It may be bitter
It may be honey
Life is a short journey
Choose your way
Choose your mate
You won't be early
You won't be late
Our ways may differ
But our end is there
Go by car or by train
Go on foot or by plane
Go on horseback or by rocket
Go by bike or by boat
Life is a short journey
All of us will be on time
All of us will be the same
All of us will have a luggage
Choose what to leave
Choose what to take

Poignant Pure Youth Flame White Passion Polished
poignant pure youth flame white passion polished
marble fresh bone china bowl of life fully rounded
you ride not high upon summit peaks or ridge rim but
deep in valley contemplation bottom sentenced grave fated
upon life’s word ripple rim many brown blood tears
fall for you cut out from heart centre in a corrida community
mourning every leaf fallen from Spanish passion trees
withers already a few begin to merge into mud
viewpoint ridges away distance horseback astride merged
you appear legless riding down into death cloud
