Aura of Felicity

He meets by chance he’ll ever bless
a maiden, and some hidden hand
unveils an inner loveliness
too few take time to understand.
Time stands stock still, clock can't progress,
as second sight's embracing strand
second-thoughts disbands - caress
sends shivers through pores which expand.

His promise, through her presence, grows
to match the merits in her eyes,
to blushing envy turns flush rose
acknowledging true Paradise.
They flow together, former woes -
in ways no verse may summarize -
replaced by links no blinds can close
metamorphosis supplies.

Thought trains awake dreams skeins asleep,
her aura haunts him day and night,

Memory Will Endure (Revised)

‘Cent Mille Chansons’ stirs memory, beautiful
voice, melody of such bitter-sweet nostalgia, a
whispering spirit crying in the cupboard: no drag
worm relates stories of new knights and dragons

Just dream sustained characters who take their
bows, spirits bolstered by lyrics of this song, there
always will be a hundred thousand loves – and
castles and stars to remain untouched by us

One hundred thousand horizons of love, we shall
add new another romance as we join a hundred
thousand lovers in the blue sphere of earth; the
world will never need to know –

Fumant Dans Le Cristal

Fumant dans le cristal, que Bacchus à longs flots
Partout aille à la ronde éveiller les bons mots.
Reine de mes banquets, que Lycoris y vienne;
Que des fleurs de sa tête elle pare la mienne;
Pour enivrer mes sens, que le feu de ses yeux
S'unisse à la vapeur des vins délicieux.
Amis, que ce bonheur soit notre unique étude;

Kakemono Kites of Spring

Kite hung in cerulean sky
invites comparison to scroll
as string unwinds see colours roll
ascend, descend, as butterfly
breasting current, soaring high,
then gliding, fabric on cross pole
stitched, kakemono parabole
whose history of times passed by
or vibrant dragon scarcely shy,
prints memory one may unroll
when seeking causal links whose string
plays out or reins in Chance's sting.

Kakemono kite portrays
chromatic hieroglyph within
rollers wooden, yang and yin
invite a glance. Attention stays.
Beyond horizon's curtain haze
kami set reeled wheels a-spin,
mislaid sensations may begin

La vieille demoiselle

La demoiselle en bandeaux noirs,
Qui brode à l'aube et brode au soir,
Toujours à la même fenêtre,
Est assise derrière un écran vert
Et regarde la rue et le temps gris d'hiver,
De son fauteuil bourré de laine et de bien-être.

Deux béguines ont salué l'apothicaire,

Prions ! voici l'ombre sereine.
