Quotes about splat!, page 2

A mantra

Here we both lie in our bed
She is sleeping, dreaming
In an unconscious world
While I lay here awake
Conscious of the dark
Concentrating on the sound
Of raindrops pitter-pattering
On the roof. I listen intently
To each distinctive descending drop
Different and yet the same
Like a mental mantra
Repeating over and over
Drip! Drop! Splash! Splat!
Until I [yawn] fall……

The rain drops dance

The rain drops dance
They twist and twirl
They smack the ground
Only to rise into the sky

They twist and twirl
They fall with glee
Only to rise into the sky
They dance the eternal dance

They fall with glee
With grace and poise
They dance the eternal dance
Till splat do they part

They sail through the air
They smack the ground
Painting a canvas in the dust
The rain drops dance

Splat!

I watched the woodlouse cross the floor.
It slowly crawled to the patio doors,
then, it tried to creep under my seat!
I caught my breath, I nearly screamed.
I couldn't possibly leave it there,
Good God, it might climb up the stairs!
So I hid, was quiet and as it moved
I clobbered it with the heel of my shoe!
Well I didn't dare sweep it under the mat
so I made damn sure the woodlouse went splat!

Desinding Into My Last Fall

Right now I feel like I am walking on a type rope,
with a broken end hanging out in space,
being prodded by the devil just to see me fall,
and now I am free for the first time that I can recall,
floating on air as descending in my last fall,
that the earth take me up and spit me out,
just before I hit the ground,
and maybe I might just bounce,
then float again high into the sky,
but the ground seems to coming up way to fast.
or I just go splat.

Relief

Gathering winds cumulate moisture seeds
rolling athwart tempestuous seas,
that float in gossamer clouds on
cooling breeze, easing savage
summer swelter parching
stark expectant fields.
Sweeping inward
monsoon black,
lightning
Flash!
crack!
Thunder,
splat! Heavy
drops, dance, dart, dash.
Joyful hands clap! Young
feet, jump, splish, splash; relief
floods. Torrents rain down warm on
earth's upturned face, rivulets run
wild along nakedness, baptising
thirsty toiled fields made ready for planting.

Muscidae

I’m foraging for food again only this time there are only crumbs. I haven’t a clue what it is but I know it is edible; I’ve eaten it before. This place is a very risky place to eat. I have seen a few of my kind die here. Their deaths were not a pleasant sight to see so I must always be on my guard. Oh, oh I see that square shadow coming at me fast. Splat! Whew! That was close. I better stay up here where it’s safe for the moment.

Two-winged diptera
Lives to see another day
Survives the onslaught.

Two To Go

I’m hunting them,
All of them.
One went down with a pull of my trigger,
As did the next,
And the next.
Do you want me to take you out as well?
No,
So get out of my way.
The next one falls,
Splat, on the ground.
Followed by three more,
Then another two,
One by one they dropp dead.
All with a bullet in their head.
Makes me laugh.
A silly little bullet.
Put it in a head,
And it kills people.
Isn’t it funny?
Still hunting,

5. Breakfast with Eagles

Tall mountains in a morning mist
Where snow fits like a cap
Craggy rocks hold icicles
That thaw before they snap

An eerie roost stood empty
Its owners both took flight
Out on a hunting party
After resting through the night

The warm air from the thermals
Gave wind beneath their wings
It lifts them higher easily
They swirl around in rings

Their eyes forever searching
A head kept fully still
Watching for a movement
To make their next big kill

Desserts Anyone?

Alarms fire back...
Splat!
Landing square in your face;
While nightingales sing dirges-
Of never to be...
Aghost long tucked away...
Reappears again
Pointing guilty fingers
Towards YOU;
You so arrogant and sure
Are ruffled;
Your feathers are everywhere;
Taken by surprise
Were your decitful eyes...
While wearing a mask to cover your lies...
Exposed now in the worlds light--
Too brillant and much too bright--
Adenaline prepares you to fight---
Rebounding evil back to you...
A boomerang of 'just desserts'

Frogiven (no thats not a typo)

Not quite a Prince Charming
with your propensity to stick
the glass slipper
in your little green mouth
But alas if when I kiss you
you do not turn to my prince.
I guess I will have to love
an adorable frog that
occasionally acts as a toad

As many times as I kiss
your adorable green face
your still my adorable frog.
A prince of one indeed
but green and bumpy all the same.

Leaping through most days
sometimes you miss the lillypad
Splat you submerge
only'to swim up again.
