I've played heavies for years and years and years. I was bald. I came to Hollywood. I did a play about junk. I was a pusher, so I played pushers for years and years and years. I did war movies and things like that.

A Pusher Of Words

I've been made effectively invisible for years.
Considered a fool who jokes.
And not to be taken seriously.
Afterall...
I am just a writer.
A pusher of words.
Not a politician.
Or a minister who preaches.
Nor am I a thief.
So what possible influence could I have?
When I speak...
Few remember what has been heard.
Or read at their convenience.

An uncle from Philadelphia

I was so upset after reading this fancy letter from an unknown.
Hey! Pen pusher you have an uncle here,
Perhaps you have no idea.
Never mind, I have a large graphite mine
And the old Foreman leaves soon.
I am sure that you can handle this task.
Don't get frighten son
Come and see me soon.
I am good-for-nothing
And waiting for my termination.
