There better be pizza

When I go that kingdom, high in the sky
When I shed life’s coils, when I lay down to die

When my breath finally leaves me, with a last soft sigh
I’ll go to my reward…and an eternity of hot Pizza pie

I pray that there’s gonna be cheese filled crust
And piles of Pepperoni’s a definite must

I wanna see oceans of melted Mozarella
An’ don’t be getting’ stingy with the olives ‘Big Fella’

Lots of angelic onions, bits of heavenly ham
Could even contain slices of spiritual spam

Some divine diced tomatoes, some holy Swiss cheese
I’ve been real religious Lord, and I’m beggin’ you please

I better see hot cheese abubblin’
I implore you o’ Lord to provide that rapturous smell

Something To Do Was Payment Enough

You say you work to have 'stuff' and things.
Things for you that make your life more meaningful.
And you believe those denied,
Should be classified as lazy.
Since they do not use initiative...
To recognize or create their own opportunities that await.

Yet there is something missing from your assessment!

You and others like you,
Have successfully blocked all their avenues to progress.

That's not true,
When my ancestors arrived...
They spoke not a word of English.

For Us, but anyway I have taken
A room for 500 a night at YMCA.

Yellow bubbles

Suddenly the world appeared plain
and people's faces, gray rained smears;
I ordered a pepperoni pizza again,
Sunday noon order with a couple of beers!

I recalled a friend of years before,
(one of Emily Dickinson, poetic types) ,
dancing in rain, walking on shore,
watching on sunsets the color stripes.

I am pizza stricken! Is this my fate?
Is it a precognition of what to come?
Above me low, black clouds of late,
turned me to chew a huge bubble gum.

The accumulated rain restarted to pour,
the moment I thought of our e-mailing;
my carelessness denied an umbrella or
a yellow raincoat I have for sailing.

A Ponderous Moment At Pizza Hut, Cagayan De Oro City

i am sitting in one of those commercial benches
of Pizza Hut

the glass walls divide me from the rest of this world
the sidewalk is filled with people rushing in different directions

the main road of this dusty city is filled with cars and trucks and
buses
if only i can hear their rush of horns and screeches of their rubberized wheels
i should have know better how noisy will it be

across the road is another set of people walking, rushing, running

they are all busy, and the dusts on their shoes have become too visible
like clouds of brown and gray on the surface of the pavements
and roads

inside is this peace of comfortable living
i have a plate of hot vegetable pizza, ice cold red tea,
vanilla sundae
