Quotes about makeshift, page 2

Sea Of Love

Upon the coast of 'Make Believe'
Near the shores of alibaster sand-
Two lovers swoon-'neath a makeshift moon...
Clasping one anothers needy hands;

Contemplating what may come next...
Aspiring with hopes of togetherness-to be...
They embrace this day-come what may-
Casting their Fate into the sea;

Unfathomable and so very profound...
Their love 'tis alive in the Deep...
Bound together-no matter the weather...
Embracing their love-to keep;

Precocious

When, gifted mentor, I made shift
to sift your manuscript makeshift,
which swift my spirit to uplift
you sent to me in shortest shrift, -
I meant to thank you for your gift.

In your thesis there is a rift
between fact, fiction, careless clift,
a most unfortunate abyss,
thus with your aptitude I'm tiffed.

Because key arguments snow drift
it seems, Sir, that the point is miffed,
it had of course to come to this,
my servitude is spent, so shift!

Salt Lake

In my domain I am the child again
lost in labyrinth of stairways
unable to find my home.

A swarm of bees descends
gives anaphylactic shock
I am dead in my arms.

You carry a dead gorilla
on the makeshift scaffold,
somewhere a female was beating her chest.

Blood on the face of moon
my sobs will not stop
flowing in muddy streaks in pits of tattoos.

Eggs of blue bird were waiting
for the mother to come,
kids were on doormats.

Lost My Name

Did you taste the ejecta
after a sacred ritual of exploding
a makeshift bomb in a crowded market?

I am worried.
I am becoming death, curling backward.
The wood spirits have started a fire dance.

The healing, yes, it comes from the blood
of steel, they claim, the blackness of a hole
has a purity.

Hunger starts a riot of lewdness in the
ribs of an empire. A skull on the hill
betrays a slaughter of young boys.

The makers of AK-47 were repenting,
for the brutal aura. I have started
telling lies.

Litotes II

Mighty fall, all dust returns to dust
As pride's joy-ride proves vain, life's flame departed.
Uncertain is our sojourn, iron's rust
Describes swift cycle's spin before it's started.
Effervescence, foaming at the mouth,
Makeshift bubbles evanescent blows
Away where no-one knows, East, West, North, South.
Unworthiness pares pomp, hour's power lids close.
Despair in turn prepares for disappointment,
Efforts vain, pain plain, refrain cut short,
Most fail to meet their goals, keep youth's appointment,
AUguries by contradictions caught.
Despite profanum vulgus' anguished cries
Each rule finds one exception rules defies!

The Sonnets To Orpheus: I

A tree ascended there. Oh pure transendence!
Oh Orpheus sings! Oh tall tree in the ear!
And all things hushed. Yet even in that silence
a new beginning, beckoning, change appeared.

Creatures of stillness crowded from the bright
unbound forest, out of their lairs and nests;
and it was not from any dullness, not
from fear, that they were so quiet in themselves,

but from just listening. Bellow, roar, shriek
seemed small inside their hearts. And where there had been
at most a makeshift hut to receive the music,

a shelter nailed up out of their darkest longing,
with an entryway that shuddered in the wind-
you built a temple deep inside their hearing.

Summer’s Now Coming Near

Summer’s now coming near
Nature in its bright giving

Soon again is spring’s year
In the freshly days of living

Ground with new blossoms
In colored shade symphony

Tinctured in fairest bosoms
Whitish and yellow lemony

Easter days impending April
From under snow-white drift

Innovation so much undeniable
In their inventive makeshift

Summer summer‘s soon here
In its delicate scent pleasures

The Challenge

All alone in this armidillo desert...?
One cactus and a makeshift dusty road-
The sweltering heat plays tricks on my eyes...
Enter: Mirages of vast mesas covered in Gold;

Oh the rites of the deserts drum beats out to me...
As i enter someones land through a 'rusty' 'iron' gate-
Lo and behold, i find a delapidated farmhouse empty...
And as if into a downward spiral-i approach my fate! ! !

I am descending from the top of the mesa...
My body is laced in the deserts sands veil-
Dressed in rag-tag camoflouge glittering...
Not accepting the challenge: Of Mice and Men, i fail! ;

For what is it that is so special of Mice and Men?
That deciphers the muck for the Winning Crown?
Is it who can out last another in 'Extreme Conditions? ? ? '
With no answer forthcoming-alas, 'tis the armidillo desert, i am bound;

Risk Of Losing Peace

I have lost it somewhere during the long journeys,
When thinking of one or more incidents and agonies,
I might have let someone to steal it from me,
I might have been careless to lose it to a snatcher,
Knowing the long arrogant nails adorn the fingers,
My heart had been kept too near to scratch and tear,
When the things were placed too high to reach,
I wore the ignorant efforts of high heels without any research,
Involved with unknown territorial business in red water,
I have lost it somewhere and don't know how it occurred,
Once it's happened, it is very hard to bear and solve,
Losing it will not be a choice, we will lose it to resolve,
The blunders that we have made and it may take many months,
And years. The hearts without peace create havoc,
The mind without peace is a place for hell's makeshift block.

Death of My Childhood Place

I miss the place so much
where I could climb trees
ate star apples and green mangoes
from fruit trees near our house

bath in the river
made a raft
out from banana or bamboo trunk
go boating with my brother
and enjoyed swimming in the river

Where we made a makeshift dam
got some catfish
or played with the tadpoles
and shooed away the frogs

and on rainy day
played with my childhood friend
creating pots and anything from the mud
forming clay vases and figurines
