You're Not Going To Believe

I tell you
I was kidnapped
by little green men
they beamed me up
to their saucer shaped den
first dissected
then unlike Humpty
they put me
together again
before ejecting me
back to Earth
faster than I could say
Big Ben
with my lucky tale
of being imperfect
thank you
quality control.

Forgive and forget, says Prospero.

Alice In Wonderland

i must remember alice.
and when i remember alice,

i must again remember
the wonderland: where

rabbits talk and caterpillars
smoke where Humpty Dumpty

always has a story to tell
where politics become

but a fantasy, where riddles
come like fables and

parables. after all these
imaginings, i am lost

If it is true that a heart cries,
Then my heart weeps like a thousand
Willow trees!

STRESS (Life Poem)

Stress is living life in a self-inflating balloon
From airless to full is the excitement in life
Increasing pressure is a tension of colour
Stress filled is not stressful in this party of life
With survival a knack of avoiding sharp objects
And where excessive inflation will inevitably
Cause an instant deflation in very small pieces
Of the dreams and goals which are life today
And like Humpty in pieces these cannot
Be easily put back together again.

Gravity

I would be a lot less heavy
if you would just lighten up!
Running up a flight of stairs
With you in tow, that's tough.

You are the fore-sworn enemy
of a woman's perky breasts.
Nor are you any friend of knees
Or lower backs, I guess.

It's true you do some useful things:
You keep the moon in tow.
You've set escape velocity
To keep me here below

All who would rise resist you,
All who yield must fall.
You're the bete–noir of existence
For Humpty Dumpty on his wall..
