Digital World

Surfin' for love
Spellin' my heart out
Somewhere real far out
In a digital world
Messages to start my day
Been sitting on my bus since wednesday
Tried to hit you on your two way
Your mailbox was full all the way
We can meet tonight by satellite
What about half past midnight
I should just be off my flight
But for now I'll just dance and think about you
Electric love electric light electric life
Electric love electric light electric life
Lets just freak out freak out freak out
Me and you all alone
Freak out freak out freak out
But how we gonna freak off over the phone
I thought we were supposed to have a date
I guess he couldn't help but be late
It's ok I had to go
I had this conference call at 4 you know
I'm glad you paged me to say sorry
Cause I know your thinking of me
Don't worry baby I'm not angry
Cause for now I'll just dance and think about you
Electric love electric light electric life
Freak out freak out freak out
Me and you all alone
Freak out freak out freak out
But how we gonna freak off over the phone
Sugar we can do whatever tonight
Whatever you like but first darling
Can we get our jig on get our swig on
Head back to our crib, before these niggas get to drawin' up in here
Please mind me for asking
Have you ever had sex with a person with no attachments
And the heat of the moment
One night of passion
Nothing but a whole lot of grinding and grabbing
Moanin and groaning till six in the morning
By the time you rolling over yawning
You'll be hearing my car door slamming
And Perelli's ballin, coltrane daddy for short honeysuckle bartender
E and j on the rocks
Make it a double
By the way if I might say
You're looking quite ravishing in your Prada apparel
From the shoes to the bags
You're lucky I don't rob your ass dear
Cut to the chase, gimme your pin number
And lets get outta here
Surfin' for love
Spelling my heart out
Somewhere real far out
In a digital world
Electric love electric light electric life
Electric love electric light electric life...

Real Cool World

So far this love is delightful
The face of seduction was you
But I listened for each and every footstep
In this real cool world
Questioning saintlike and fantastic heroes
Feeling like lost little children in fabled lands
So I listen for each and every friendship
In this real cool world
Now there is you
In my real cool world
Starry-eyed life but somehow believing in nothing
You whisper sweet nothing but reading between your lines
I listen color me doubtful
In this real cool world
Now there is you
In my real cool world
You came from nowhere
You came from nowhere
You held me you shook me
Hey
Its a cool world
Its a cool world
Its a real cool world
Its a real cool world
Its a real cool world
Its a real cool world
Now there is you
In my real cool world
Now there is you
In my real cool world
Mmmm
Real cool world

Explore your potential and earn the heart of the world

Village mud road
Afternoon and the hot sun
A buffalo in its own slow pace
On its back a half naked boy
Sweat droplets twinkling

Seated and enjoying a mango
Making all efforts to extract
The entire flesh upto the seed

A clean and white seed
Now in his hand
Aiming to hit a crow
Sitting on a milestone
Innocently glancing left and right
Threw the seed at his full speed

Thank God, the crow flew unhurt

The seed finding its way
To a mud-ridden drain
With its drowning deep
Bubbles appearing
Pronouncing the end of
A mango fruit

But it was only a beginning

The seed fighting all odds
Sprouted establishing
In the stinking waste water drain

Growing steadily
To a sapling first
Then to a big tree
Now standing tall
With branches in all directions
Bearing sweet fruits
Now being exported and
Earning foreign exchange

Apparently a useless seed
Had this potential
Which when rightly exploited
Earned global recognition

Explore your potential and
Earn the heart of the world

Around The World In A Day

Open your heart, open your mind
A train is leaving all day
A wonderful trip through our time
And laughter is all u pay
Around the world in a day
Around the world in a day
Now dig
Loneliness already knows u
There aint no reason 2 stay
Come here and take my hand, Ill show u
I think I know a better way, yall
Around the world in a day
(listen 2 me, babe)
Around the world in a day
(all the babies sing it now)
Ooh-la-la
Ooh-la-la-la-la-la-la
No-sha-sha
No shouting
No shouting
No - no shouting
The little 1 will escort u
2 places within your mind
The former is red, white, and blue
The ladder is purple, come on and climb
Around the world in a day
Around the world in a day
Come on, sing
Around the world in a day
Say papa, I think I wanna dance
(summer she is sweet)
Around the world in a day
Around the world in a day
All the little babies, sing around the world
Around the world in a day
A government of love and music boundless in its unifying power
A nation of alms, the production, sharing ideas, a shower of flowers

The Dance Electric

Good morning children
Take a look out your window
Our world is falling
It's almost time 2 go
(Dance)
Dance the Dance Electric
The rhythm is love and love is blind
Love your enemies
There isn't much time, there isn't much time
Look - our world is falling
A rhythm-less house of blinded prophecy
Hear our Master calling
This isn't what He wanted us 2 be
We got 2 dance the Dance Electric
Listen 2 the rhythm of your soul
Come on and dance the Dance Electric
We better love each other, it's almost time 2 go
Don't - it don't make U happy
2 give another someone your own smile
Dance the dance electric
Never mind your hatred, try a brand new style
Dance the Dance Electric
Listen 2 the rhythm of your soul
U got 2 dance the Dance Electric
We better love each other, it's almost time 2 go
We... love... all... enemies
Look - U're livin' in Babylon
Makin', but not feelin' love at all
When your youth is gone, when it comes 2 dawn
A light of truth will shine and U will fall
That's why U got 2 dance the Dance Electric
Listen 2 the rhythm of your soul
U got 2 dance the Dance Electric
We better love each other, it's almost time 2 go
See the light inside of us
U're stuck in living, livin' life as bad
Whatever U do, don't U let your life go without my love
It's the only life that U will ever have
Why don't U (dance) dance the Dance Electric?
Listen 2 the rhythm of your soul
Why don't U dance the Dance Electric?
We better love each other, it's almost time 2 go (almost time 2)
Dance the Dance Electric
Listen 2 the rhythm of your soul
Come on and dance the Dance Electric
We better love each other, it's almost time 2 go

Family: The SMS-Messages Start...

It is still dark when we leave home - the
school gate is barely open; an hour and
a half before school starts a little boy
already there; out in the winter cold; then
a little girl is also left half an hour before
her school starts; in the afternoon he goes
to after-school; but she has to stay in the
school grounds; at two-forty-five the SMS-
messages start: Hi mom, what are you
doing? - Im typing my love, and you? –
I’ve got nothing to do; - I know that’s
not true with all that maths and homework
tasks, yet I play along; I wish she were
here or already at home instead of at
school all alone; that was the choice I
made as a working mom; if I give up
my job Ill never find one again – its
all about quotas and race and not expertise
– besides, it is my whole social lifeif
only school did not end at two in the
afternoon and children were not left
all by themselves so soon…

A Real Good Place To Start

Still reelin from a relationship that left me torn in two
Tryin to find that first step that leads to someone new
Gettin me back together, didnt know it could be so hard
But if Im ever gonna mend this broken heart...
You look like a real good place to start
I need a new beginning, and girl you fit right in
Sometimes a new beginning is found in an old friend
If Im ever gonna mend this broken heart...
You look like a real good place to start
Thereve been times when you and him just couldnt get along
Id hear your knock and let you in, be your shoulder to cry on
And now hes finally left you, and Ive find you in my arms
If Im ever gonna mend this broken heart...
You look like a real good place to start
I need a new beginning, and girl you fit right in
Sometimes a new beginning is found in an old friend
If Im ever gonna mend this broken heart...
You look like a real good place to start
If Im ever gonna mend this broken heart...
You look like a real good place to start

All That I Hear

My head clearly ached for while
As he was far and away in miles
But I hand just hung up
After making brief talk and covered up

He was felt as if so near
I was turning confident with no fear
He was breathing near by
I had to just feel it without making any try

I need not murmur now
That was happening any how!
He was felt despite being miles apart
I was finding new light on the way to be a part

How great feeling it is!
It is not words of his
Yet they come as if from inner heart
Real feeling with beautiful start

I had chosen him not by look
But something special had struck
He was now ruling on whole of body
As if to become important and somebody

We may become one tomorrow
Yet that has to happen and be allowed
Yes I am sure of its happening it any time
I miss and die for him all the times

Water was deep and shallow
That must make me swim and allow
To float over it with nice dreams
And skillfully guided by sun beams

I am not sure of real love
Yet I hold on with trust and believe
That takes me away from pain and relieve
All bad thought now that can't deceive

I shall hold on and move
All apprehensions may be allayed and removed
He will be mine one day
And that I how I am dreaming away

I lost a World - the other day!

181

I lost a World - the other day!
Has Anybody found?
You'll know it by the Row of Stars
Around its forehead bound.

A Rich man—might not notice it
Yet—to my frugal Eye,
Of more Esteem than Ducats—
Oh find it—Sir—for me!

Fusion of the Innocent

unless clashes ignited
my calm, light
would just
rest in me

flash the luminous heart
and the world
brighten that day,
surrender losses nothing
but a pride of
innocent, stay for a while
and a piece of
the day
is prize for eternity

touch me and I will blow
all the crystal
droplets of illusion,
where the heaven
would be
free

light me up and wisdom
will come at a time,
let me show
the innocent glow, for
the world waits my command,
and as you'll understand that I
am not yet gone

touch me, as you go and I will
show you my humble one.....

The Last Rose Of Summer

That strain again? It seems to tell
Of something like a joy departed;
I love its mourning accents well,
Like voice of one, ah! broken-hearted.

That note that pensive dies away,
And can each answering thrill awaken,
It sadly, wildly, seems to say,
Thy meek heart mourns its truth forsaken.

Or there was one who never more
Shall meet thee with the looks of gladness,
When all of happier life was o'er,
When first began thy night of sadness.

Sweet mourner, cease that melting strain,
Too well it suits the grave's cold slumbers;
Too well the heart that loved in vain
Breathes, lives, and weeps in those wild numbers.

Birthing Pains (Day Of Change)

world in turmoil... time of the end, or birthing pains?
peoples of all countries... common, everyday, honest,
hard working, dreaming... battling against the oppression
of the few, those who control, those who profit at the expense
of human life, without remorse! and now we can communicate!
we see each other, we hear each other, as if side by side,
in the battle for human dignity.
should there be hunger? should there be families without
shelter? should there be children without chance? can this
world continue with the elite having too much, and so many
people suffering? no!
birthing pains, a new world, a new day! a cohesive journey
taken together!
freedom demand equality, acceptance without prejudice,
and a fair distribution of what life has to offer! no free rides,
all working together! accepting the need for intelligent
questioning, and for diversity!
the voice of the peoples grows stronger, almost a roar!
it is the day of change!

You Really Wouldn't Want Me That Way

I know I'm far from perfect, too set in my ways for my own good
And there's other things about me you think you'd like to change if you just could
I could let you shape me,mold me like a potter's piece of clay
But you really wouldn't want me that way
It's a crazy world we live in and it keeps on getting tougher all the time
You say you wish I wouldn't let life's troubles weigh so heavy on my mind
When things are wrong I guess that I could smile pretending everything's okay
But you really wouldn't want me that way
I'm just the man I've always been,I don't know how to be nobody else
And a man can only change so much till he becomes a shadow of himself
I never could be happy if I were just your puppet on a string, yes I could change
But you really wouldn't want me that way
Now don't misunderstand me,I want to be a man that makes you proud
I ain't ashamed to show how much I love you every way that I know how
I can make concessions but don't ask me to bend until I break
'Cause you really wouldn't want me that way
Don't ask me tomorrow to become someone I wasn't yesterday
'Cause you really wouldn't want me that way

On A Stage All Across The World (album Mix)

Suddenly it's friday night
Answering the question why we're here tonight
We're the band thats going to rock and roll the crowd
So can you tell me how to get to the stage in town?
We're the poster "live on stage"
We gotta hurry up it's absolutely late
Can I take this picture with you?
But just in case I would rather take two.
And then straight on to the hotel
See you here at 10 o'clock down in the hall
take a rest in a while we gotta go
Cause tonight think on another show
It's time get ready to play
No matter how we try in the end we're always late
20 minutes on the clock
But we'll give it all that we've got
On a stage all across the world
And another concert begins
Soon they'll tell us its time so let's go
People applauding
Jumping at the dance and roll show
And we'll have a great time while we're riding
On the highway and overseas
There is someone at home that's waiting
for you to come back
after the publicity
But it can't be over now
Look at all the people that are getting down
There's a lady that is waving a CD
Can you sign it for my daughter?
She's your big fan
And what a hostile (...) backstage
We've gotta change cause we have a minute free
Just a question for Radio (...)
Could you smile for our local TV?
Finally we can sit for a bite
Go for the lasagne that is always right
And there's someone who doesn't know why
We decided for Eiffel 65
I'm uncertain where do we go?
There's a club where there's another show
Where a DJ plays tonight
And we'll dance to his morning light

Wicked Witch

See the wicked witch ride her broomstick,
As she rides with the moon,
Her pointy hat her distinguished feature,
For it is a full moon tonight,
For magic will reign until the morning light,
For many spells are being cast,
And who will win the magic stakes,
No one knows,
For many a cauldron is being stirred,
The supernatural in nature being brought alive,
And love spells bring love into the wide open,
And treasure good fortune and luck,
For there are many facets in nature,
And spells can be cast, so you'll never be stuck,
Many good luck charms and wishing dust reawaken the spirit,
And throwing salt over your shoulder,
Not walking under ladders,
Knocking on wood,
And keeping a black cat for good luck,
Will keep things swinging your way,
And the phases of the moon will keep the spirits at rest,
At least until the break of day,
For traditions say witches practice their craft through black magic,
But this is not true,
For the way of the witches will never be tragic,
For love spells are also their forte,
And a beautiful prince or princess will greet you,
For you are magic itself,
You have those magical eyes,
That will reveal a pleasant surprise,
The night opening up your unbelieving eyes,
To all of nature and its magic powers,
That keep balance and proprtion in all things,
And give life to those beautiful and colourful spring flowers,
That only heaven itself, with all its magic,
Could create and nurture with the changing seasons.

When the world changes, you adjust
So, on this joint right here we about to take flight ya'll

Got to keep moving keep reppin' it up

You got to go now and fill up your cup ?

I be fallin' up never fallin' down
'Cause I keep it on a higher level, elevated ground

Got to keep moving keep reppin' it up

Life Is A Real Addiction

Out of love
I can take tricks and schemes
But from the beautiful faces
I won't take lies..

When she says ‘' I want to die ‘'
in this world this is a great lie

in heart every one likes to live
no matter in what conditions,
this is the quirky charm of life
none can deny

suicide is not normal
it is abnormal mental condition
it is forced upon
and exceptional one

the beauties of life lie not only on possessions
or in physical comforts
beauties of life lie even in thoughts
in seeing, in listening, in feeling
life produces a mysterious music
out of whatever is the flute..

even if you are not in the position
to enjoy the mysterious music of life
still you can dance with the tune.

so stop tell a lie ‘' I want to die ‘'
keep dancing with tune of life..
lets the wind blow
the rain to come down
and see in wonder how nice is the rainbow! !

the faces of men and women
relatives and friends
such a infectious
you can not avoid seeing
life is a real addiction!

Stop, Drop & Roll

Oh, it's six o'clock in the evening
I just wanna be on top with heavy breathing
Oh, baby are ya thinking what I'm thinking
I'll take off your Victoria Secrets
Yes, I just want you to undress
Roll on top, put your hands on my chest
Baby are ya ready for daddy get blessed
Stop, drop and roll with me oh yes
1 - Stop, drop and roll with me
Baby, you know you got me in heat
I'm on fire
Now I know exactly what you're thinking
No, I'm not Dion, one of a psychic friend readers
But boo, I can tell by you moving closer
Puffin the trees, and pouring more mamosa
Baby please don't tease yourself or tease me
Daddy can freak ya completely like E.T.
Check me out, tongue in your mouth
How 'bout some in and out right now
Repeat 1
Repeat 1
Everytime I think about your love
I need it
You got me heated
I need some squeezing
You make me shiver with a touch
When we clutch
I'm heating up
Hot for your love
What's his name, lets get to freakin'
There ain't no speakin'
Just heavy breathin'
Don't keep me waiting
Come on lets go
Baby stop and drop and roll
Repeat 1 until fade

Regulate

G:
Regulators
We regulate any stealing of his property
And we damn good too
But you cant be any geek off the street,
Gotta be handy with the steel if you know what I mean, earn your keep!
Regulators!!! mount up!
G:
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon
Warren g was on the streets, trying to consume
Some skirts for the eve, so I can get some funk
Just rollin in my ride, chillin all alone
Nate:
Just hit the eastside of the lbc
On a mission trying to find mr. warren g.
Seen a car full of girls aint no need to tweak
All you skirts know whats up with 213
G:
So I hooks a left on the 21 and lewis
Some brothas shootin dice so I said lets do this
I jumped out the ride, and said whats up?
Some brothas pulled some gats so I said Im stuck.
Nate:
Since these girls peepin me ima glide and swerve
These hookers lookin so hard they straight hit the curb
Wontcha think of better things than some horny tricks
I see my homey and some suckers all in his mix
G:
Im gettin jacked, Im breakin myself
I cant believe they taking warrens wealth
They took my rings, they took my rolex
I looked at the brotha said damn, whats next?
Nate:
They got my homey hemmed up and they all around
Aint none of them seeing if they going straight pound for pound
I gotta come up real quick before they start to clown
I best pull out my strap and lay them busters down
G:
They got guns to my head
I think Im going down
I cant believe this happenin in my own town
If I had wings I could fly
Let me contemplate
I glanced in the cut and I see my homey nate
Nate:
Sixteen in the clip and one in the hole
Nate dogg is about to make some bodies turn cold
Now they droppin and yellin
Its a tad bit late
Nate dogg and warren g had to regulate
I laid all them busters down
I let my gat explode
Now Im switching my mind back into freak mode
If you want skirts sit back and observe
I just left a gang of those over there on the curb
G:
Now nate got the freaks
And thats a known fact
Before I got jacked I was on the same track
Back up back up cause its on
N a t e and me
The warren to the g
Nate:
Just like I thought
They were in the same spot
In need of some desperate help
The nate dogg and the g-child
Were in need of something else
One of them dames was sexy as hell
I said ooo I like your size.
She said my cars broke down and you seem real nice,
Would ya let me ride?
I got a car full of girls and its going real swell
The next stop is the eastside motel
G:
Im tweaking
Into a whole new era
G-funk
Step to this
I dare ya
Funk
On a whole new level
Nate:
The rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble
G:
Chords
Strings
We brings
Melody
G-funk
Where rhythm is life
And life is rhythm
Nate:
If you know like I know
You dont wanna step to this
Its the g-funk era
Funked out with a gangsta twist
If you smoke like I smoke
Then you high like everyday
And if your ass is a buster
213 will regulate

That just to open your eyes
to watch the stars and fireflies
is enough to make other people feel blind
and insist you black them out
like pearls in an air-raid?
What's a starmap to a mole?
What's a lamp that shines in braille
to someone without fingerprints?
Is it true that beauty summons the worm
as a material eye-witness to its ruin?
That genius is devoured
by cannibalistic Neanderthals
into homoeopathic magic
for the power of its brain
to turn thought into protein
with a high creatine content
that can make your dick strike twelve anachronistically
so you can go on knapping flint
for the next hundred thousand years?
That genius is a freak in isolation
that gets its own back
for being pecked at
like a phoenix among chickens
by opening Pandora's box
like the atom at Los Alamos
like the genie in the lamp
and making a Trojan horse of its gifts
gives them everything they want
because anything as red
as Van Gogh's hair and beard and ear in Arles
must be either a phoenix
or a fox with chicken-pox.
Sometimes you have more to fear
from the keys
than the locks.
Is it true
that a friend is a random event
in a space-time continuum
that's got no room in its impersonality
for loyalty or sentiment?
That the heart has replaced the golden rule
with Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle
and everyone's looking for love
like a Faberge Easter egg
that's already hatched its ugly duckling
sans fairytale?
Or the Czar's family?
I asked Annie
as we were landing in Toronto
from the West Coast
like a waterbird with its wheels down
on a tarmac lake
is it true
that everything we thought sincere
has been exposed as fake?
That forever isn't worth
the loveletter
it's written on
for twenty minutes
because of temporal inflation?
Is it true
that all roads
that lead to Rome or Ottawa
never return the way they came
like arrows and fishooks and Vercingetorix?
That justice is a celebrity fame-game with ratings
brought in by a jury of mirrors
selected by the reflections of their peers
to convict the innocent
for their sins of omission?
That the God-particle
everyone's looking for
like something they can't get out of their eye
might not be
trying to make a point at all.
It's hard to get a fix on
just how fundamental you are
in the scheme of things
when you're stuck in the starmud
up to your knees
looking for your keys like koans
you swallow like pills to feel real
but hey
no big deal
but I was meaning to ask you
is it true
that we're wounded by death
and life is the way we heal?
I know how you feel
about what's real
but you can have all the money you want
and that still doesn't mean
you'll ever really know
what it means to be rich
without having to steal.
You've got the disease
but none of its symptoms.
Is it true
that the most successful grow
by never accepting a challenge
that wasn't a bigger failure than the last
and call the summits of their Himalayan defeats
experience and progress?
Answer no.
Answer yes.
Answer yes and no.
Or just nod your head diagonally
like the sum of the squares of the opposite sides.
Because the questions were less rhetorical
than sincerity being facetious
I don't expect people to answer the doorbell
or read every piece of spiritual junkmail
that shows up on their doorstep
like a flightfeather to paradise
on the wings of a seagull.
If you're wounded deeply enough
there's no resentment in the pain.
You just play with your brain
like an angry child plays with the eyes of a doll.
You control your rage like a nuclear reactor
or Chernobyl goes cosmic
and you throw a tantrum
that expands like the universe.
You can polish the mirror all you want
and call it clarity
until your sleeves are as threadbare
as the carpets under the windows
you've been staring through
as long as it take to turn your eyes to glass
but enlightenment's on the dark side of the mirror
like a star is
like your eyes are.
Like waves on a lake
that takes things as they come.
Myriad deaths in a single birth.
Life on earth.
Intense heat.
Unusual sprouts.
A Zen sententium worth consideration.
But the clear light of the void
isn't radiation.
It's a lucidity
with nothing to illuminate.
It's the Uncreate that plays creatively
in the absence of itself
like a child alone with its imagination
making the world up as it goes along
taking the Inconceivable
and making it believable.
Giving airy nothing
a local habitation and a name
as Shakespeare did
and dandelions do in the fall.
As I am now
by asking if it's true
you haven't noticed yet
how it's always the overprivileged
who send the underprivileged off to war?
Death in the hearts of the governors.
Death in the hearts of the profiteers.
Death in the hearts of the generals.
Is it true
this spider-web shines
like democracy in the morning
star-spangled with dew
but late at night under the streetlight
it's tearing under the weight of its own greed?
That obese spiders who once pulled the strings
of a sticky mandala to eat well
ripen like the dead weight of toxic fruit
hanging from the branches of a dead tree?
This web is not a constellation.
This web is not a starmap.
This web is not a bloodstream
that gives back what it receives.
This web is not the lyre of a siren
that called people to the rocks of a new continent.
This web is not an electric guitar.
Is it true
the interminable buzzing of panicked flies
stuck to its strings
like masses of people
waiting to be consumed
is not the music of celestial spheres?
Empathic ingestion of agony over many years
like a fish trying to identify with heavy water
by adapting to it like a sick mother
who passed on her genes like Love Canal.
Is it true
you can die tending the ill in a hospital?
Carnage without redemption.
Eye-soup.
Severed feet.
Outrage imploding into black dwarfs
that warp space like a child's mind
into believing God is best served by the blind
than those who can read for themselves
before they martyr her body like a judas-goat
to God's great design
for the faithful dead
who expressed their gasp of divinity
in a holy war
a marketable crusade
a deniable genocide
a mass grave
a defensible border
that doesn't know who gave the order
to dropp cluster bombs
and white phos
on the hospital
when it ran out of bandaids
and watch it flower like a white dahlia
or a belly-dancing jellyfish
with poisonous tentacles
spreading out like the spokes of a beach umbrella.
The aesthetics of atrocity.
The age of desecration.
Is it true
the next best career move for evolution
like an unknown writer
listening to his legend gossip among rumours
like a suicide note without a table of contents
is unnatural extinction?
The mystery in the riddle of the sphinx
after all those years of sand and stars
is what would she have asked
if we weren't there to answer.
Is it true
that Saturn's shepherd moons
have turned into human coyotes
jumping borders like orbits
in the Van Allen Belt
where the asteroids are broken by drug rings
thawing rocks in a crack spoon
to defy the laws of gravity
with deified norms of depravity?
I might be a vague social democrat
walking a Zen plank
like a blindfolded political platform
who doesn't need a party
to spell out
or sell out
what I believe
but it's easier to write a folksong
about a successful thief
than a man or woman
for whom love was an art
that transcended its inspiration
and compassion the root of all understanding
and when death approached
because it's hard to be alive and real
at the same time
embraced it as a great relief.
Is it true
that more similes turn into outlaws
than metaphors do?
That when Jesus asked
the little children to come unto him
he wasn't speaking in tongues
behind sacred firewalls
for polyglot child molesters everywhere?
The pen might be mightier than the sword
like a mammal is to a dinosaur
but I have my doubts about a bullet
and electrically detonated C-4
wired to a lab rat like the black plague
and holy warriors
with the radioactive half-lives of dirty bombs.
Suras and psalms.
Gardens with underground rivers.
And fruit trees by flowing streams.
Shalom.
Salem.
Muslim.
Jerusalem
Islam
And Bethlehem the House of Bread
that breaks into peace
when it's shared
like a common word
from the pelican fountain-mouth
of the same mother tongue.
Peace brother.
Peace sister.
May you live to be
forever young and free
of walled partitions
and the double helices
of chromosomatic razorwire
uncoiled like vines
around your secret gardens
where the waterlilies bloom in gene-pools
and the grapes are bleeding
like a miscarriage of sacred wines.
When the Great Lucidity appears
like a star of wheat in the Virgin's hand
and shines down
on everyone's shelter for the night alike
no mangers in the beginning
no arks at the end
may we all understand
that the blood-oaths of enemies
are not stronger than the bonds between friends.
May you know the enchantments of life
when it doesn't belong to anyone
as well as you know the horrors
of disowning it now.
Or as I imagine they would say in Zen.
The pen is the sword.
It's just a voice with words.
A lamp that gives its light away
like an extravagant genie
you don't have to blow out to see
but you should
if you want to write good.
Black glee.
Bright vacancy.
Too much pain.
The agony of the seed realizing
the harvest was in vain
not worth what had to be endured
to live it all again.
Eleusinian ergot on the grain.
Is it true
heaven prefers
the hallucinogenically insane
and the sun only comes up
when a cock crows like a weathervane
or a God-struck lightning-rod?
On the return journey
which is more amazing than the first
you get to pass backwards
through all the stations of your life
you progressed forward through.
A prodigal innocence
that resonates with experience.
A dream reflected in a mirror
like a waterbird
dragging its wake through the clouds
like a knife ploughing a wound
through the envelope of a loveletter
no one can wake up from but you.
And no one can take away
because everything is trued by time
to the path you took
just by walking on the earth
alone on a dark night in the starless rain
when you removed the world like a mask
that proved false to your faceless pain
and you realized
how much closer a stranger is to you
than you are to your unrecognizable self.
Though pain may be prophetic
when your heart hangs on a hook
like bait on a question-mark
great suffering doesn't reveal anything
you didn't already know.
It doesn't stay.
It doesn't go.
It's a nothing that exists.
It's an existence that's nothing.
A gust of fireflies
from the mouth of a dragon.
But what does come as a surprise
like dusk overtaking the window
are the numberless eyes
that emerge from the depths of your darkness
like grapes ripening on the vine
like fish coming to the surface
like urgent diamonds
growing like mushrooms
in the long night of an abandoned mine.
Numberless eyes.
Myriad stars.
Light-years of memories.
And is it true
every one of them
is a myth in the making
each an enlightened Zen master
with nothing to teach
who insists
it's not the stars that are shining
it's your mind?
That they're all within reach
all the time?
