Last Night I Dreamt Your Perfume

Last night I dreamt your perfume
While I held you in my hand
Last night I dreamt your perfume
You will never understand
The way you make me feel
The promise that you give
Last night I dreamt your perfume
Lost in those dreams I live

Last night I dreamt your perfume
Arched fingers cupped your breast
Last night I dreamt your perfume
Felt your warm breath brush my chest
With gel coat slide I gripped you
Sensation through my veins
Last night I dreamt your perfume
She who bears no name

Last night I dreamt your perfume
Your body meshed with mine
Last night I dreamt your perfume
A guilty pleasure, sweet, sublime
Quiet by my pillow
Your touch I never feel
Last night I dreamt your perfume
This morning, wished you real

Parfum Exotique (Exotic Perfume)

Qu'éblouissent les feux d'un soleil monotone;

Une île paresseuse où la nature donne
Des arbres singuliers et des fruits savoureux;

Exotic Perfume

When, with both my eyes closed, on a hot autumn night,
I inhale the fragrance of your warm breast
I see happy shores spread out before me,
On which shines a dazzling and monotonous sun;

A lazy isle to which nature has given
Singular trees, savory fruits,
Men with bodies vigorous and slender,
And women in whose eyes shines a startling candor.

Guided by your fragrance to these charming countries,
I see a port filled with sails and rigging
Still utterly wearied by the waves of the sea,

While the perfume of the green tamarinds,
That permeates the air, and elates my nostrils,
Is mingled in my soul with the sailors' chanteys.

— Translated by William Aggeler

Exotic Perfume

When I, with eyes shut, on warm autumn eves,
The fragrance of your warmer breast respire,
I see a country bathed in solar fire
Whose happy shores its lustre never leaves;

An isle of indolence, where nature raises
Singular trees and fruits both sweet and tender,

Hey

And I said Hey
When I'm making my movie, baby
You keep saying all my...
You keep breaking all my...
Said hey
You like boots and perfume
Said hey
Your red pumps and your cadillac blues
Said hey
You want that fine
white wine
on my dime
What you want from me?
'Cause you're on my mind
Don't you get no more
'Cause you're losing yourself
Don't you want some truth?
'Cause I'll give you mine
Hey, when I'm making my movie, baby
You keep saying all my lines
And I said hey, after sunset drive cruising, baby
You're just yesterdays prize
Said hey, do do do do do
You want trips on a white yacht for two
Said hey,
Beverly heights
Bright lights
Late nights
What you want from me?
'Cause you're on my mind
Don't you get no more
'Cause you're losing yourself
Don't you want some truth?
'Cause I'll give you mine
Hey, when I'm making my movie, baby
You keep saying all my lines
And I said hey, after sunset drive cruising, baby
You're just yesterdays prize
You're just yesterdays prize
Hey, Hey
Your red pumps and your cadillac blues
You want trips on a white yacht for two
Your red pumps and your cadillac blues
You like boots and expensive perfume
Your red pumps and your cadillac blues
You want trips on a white yacht for two

You want trips on a white yacht for two

La Chevelure (Her Hair)

Ô toison, moutonnant jusque sur l'encolure!
Ô boucles! Ô parfum chargé de nonchaloir!
Extase!

Se pâment longuement sous l'ardeur des climats;

Dans ce noir océan où l'autre est enfermé;

Vous me rendez l'azur du ciel immense et rond;

Head of Hair

O fleecy hair, falling in curls to the shoulders!
O black locks! O perfume laden with nonchalance!
Ecstasy! To people the dark alcove tonight
With memories sleeping in that thick head of hair.
I would like to shake it in the air like a scarf!

Imperial Bedroom

Everyone agreed that she looked delightful
Except for her sister, who was hateful and spiteful
Blushing bright red from her head to her feet
But rushing into her bridal suite
The imperial bedroom, the regal boudoir
This casual acquaintance led to an intimate bonsoir
Life turns out like a tv serial
A head full of daydreams, his hands full of material
She says its nothing, hes messing up her hair
And still he looks so neat
Stepping into the bridal suite
The imperial bedroom, the regal boudoir
This casual acquaintance led to an intimate bonsoir
So the best man will do his best again
Now theyre getting dressed again
Blushing bright red from her head to her feet
Sneaking out of the bridal suite
The imperial bedroom, the regal boudoir
This casual acquaintance led to an intimate bonsoir
We know who youre with and where you are
In the imperial bedroom, the regal boudoir
This casual acquaintance led to an intimate bonsoir
Two names under the register
In the imperial bedroom, the regal boudoir
This casual acquaintance led to an intimate bonsoir
Au revoir

Intimate Since We Met

Intimate since we met.
With no mention of it intended.
And feeling free not to defend it,
To experience this without regret.

It was as if this was meant to be.
A meeting of coincidence...
That began for us so innocent.

And intimate since we met.
A magnetic attraction we cemented.
First with our eyes,
Then to our surprise we kissed.
Feeling that tingle between us,
With a need to be together...
To explore more of it!

And we have been intimate,
Since we met.
With no mention of it intended.
And feeling free not to defend it!
To experience this without regret.

So blessed we are,
To share this added spice.
That increases in our happiness,
Each of us knew.
But did not expect...
Could reach and climb to further heights.

None that we dreamed of.
Or planned to invite.

Intimate since we met.
With no mention of it intended.
And feeling free not to defend it,
To experience this without regret.

It was as if this was meant to be.
A meeting of coincidence...
That began for us so innocent.
And did not expect...
When we met,
Could reach and climb to further heights.
Further with no intention...
To be this intimate,
Like this intimacy we have is meant.

The Garden of Years

I

I have shut fast the door, and am alone
With the sweet memory of this afternoon,
That saw my vague dreams on a sudden grown
Into fulfilment, as I oft have known
Stray notes upon a keyboard fall atune
When least persuaded. I besought no boon
Of Fate to-day; I that, since first Love came
Into my life, have been so importune.
To-day alone I did not press my claim,
And lo! all I have dreamed of is my own!

II

I have shut fast the door, for so I may
Relive that moment of the turn of tide—
That swift solution of the long delay
That clothed with silver splendor dying day;
And, with low-whispering memory for guide,
See once again your startled eyes confide
The secret of surrender; and your hand
Flutter toward mine, before you turn aside—
And the gold wings of young consent expand
Fresh from the cracking chrysalis of Nay!

III

I did not dare to speak at first. It seemed
A thing unreal, that with the air might blend—
That strange swift signal—and I feared I dreamed!
Ahead, the city’s lamps, converging, gleamed
To a thin angle at the street’s far bend,
And, as we neared, each from its column’s end
Stepped out, and past us, furtive, slipped away:
Nor could Love’s self a longer respite lend
The radiant moments of our shortening day,
That Time, the donor, one by one redeemed.

IV

We spoke of eloquently empty things;
Of younger days that were before we met,
The trivial acts to which the memory clings,
And in familiar spots unbidden brings
To mind, when graver matters we forget.
The sacred secret lay unspoken, yet
Hovered, half-veiled, between our conscious eyes,
Touched with an indefinable regret
For that swift moment of our love’s surprise—

Perfume 'A La Larissa

“A La Larissa” perfume has appeared!
The fragrance of it is great and neared.
It’s just for your elegance and intelligence.
It’s not for the masses!
It’s for the women in the evening dresses.
It’s for the ladies of extra classes.
This perfume is an explosion of warmth,
It gives you real sexual storms.
It gives you the enveloping notes,
It rises up your best emotes,
It’s a heady memorable ode,
It’s the mode of a highly sort of perfume.
You’ll feel comfortable with it at any ballroom.
It’s eccentric smell will make you feel so well.
When you are in the evening gown,
It will turn all heads on its own.
This perfume is really the best.
The best and… out of the rest!
Just a dropp of it and…you are on the top.
And a dropp and …you’ll be for sure the pop.
What a prestige! What a delight!
Magic perfume “ A La Larissa”! ! !
You can only hear men’s whisper:
She is a vanquisher!
Is she a princess from Saragossa?
Oh, no! This aroma is from Odessa!
It has the smell of the Black Sea.
It has the fragrance of an acacia tree.
“A La Larissa’ perfume is just fantastic!
It’s so poetic and esthetic!
It smells the rain, it smells the snow!
The world of all flowers it shows!
With “A La Larissa” you’ll understand
What real art is on our land.
Using “A La Larissa”
You’ll get the ocean of sensation.
You’ll get your impersa
And…it will cause a poet’s inspiration.
It will give you the best charm,
It will give you the tenderness alarm.
You’ll be out of masses an exception!
You’ll be … The Lady Perfection!

Reunion

I had guards like watchdogs
Dogs in a manger
I could feel the protection
Possession and anger
And I drove out of there
With no on behind me
Feeling funny and free
All you pretty pretenders
Negligent vendors
Arent you precious inside
I have no need for anger
With intimate strangers
And I got nothing to hide
Yeah
I laughed as I said it
This is my situation
Its not pictures or privilege
Its just self preservation
I dont want you to feel
Any obligation
It feels so funny to be free
All you pretty pretenders
Negligent vendors
Arent you precious inside
I have no need for anger
With intimate strangers
And I got nothing to hide
We act empty and innocent
But we are fueled by distortions
(I remember you)
Of lives led in discontent
(when we were shiny and new)
Trading misfortunes
(now you guard your faith)
Cause faith is one thing
That is hard to deliver
(temper your speed)
It feels so funny to be free
All you pretty pretenders
Negligent vendors
Arent you precious inside
I have no need for anger
With intimate strangers
And I got nothing to hide
I got nothing to hide
All of us arent we
Pretty pretenders
Negligent vendors
Arent we precious inside
I have no need for anger

Mmmmm....
Yeah C'mon
Don't stop what you're doing
Don't stop,
Please.
Don't stop what you're doing,
Don't stop,
Please!
Don't stop what you're doing
Don't stop,
Please.
Don't stop what you're doing,
Don't stop,
If you can read my mind
If you could look inside
I guess you know what I'm feeling.
The moment you decide
Let go of fear
You're fine
Love him a deeper meaning!
I'm tired of all these things
Your Pride Just turns to shame
No more secrets between us
No, no!
I'm here in front of you
I feel the same way too!
Let's turn and make this love deepen>
If you wanna be intimate with me
Gotta let me see a part of you
No one else knows!
I wanna be intimate with you
Feel you reach into
The part of me no one else,
No one else!
Knows like you do!
Heaven and death we meet
Baby when I'm with you
No one else can touch us
And no more emptiness
I feel like I've been blessed!
Boy I believe in you
Boy I Believe in You
Your love can see me through!
Your love can see me through!
You!
You've got the power I need!
You've got the power I need!
Show you believe in me
Like I believe in you
Baby, I'm down on my knees!

Un Fantôme (A Phantom)

I Les Ténèbres

Dans les caveaux d'insondable tristesse
Où le Destin m'a déjà relégué;
Où jamais n'entre un rayon rose et gai;

Condamne à peindre, hélas! sur les ténèbres;

Spilled Perfume

(pam tillis/dean dillon)
I aint even gonna to ask you
I can read you like a book
Girl if I ever saw one thats an
I cant believe I did that look
You look like something that the cat drug in
So I wont kick you while youre down
Just let me tell you friend to friend
bout a block Ive been around
Did you really think last night would last forever
Did you really think that guy hung the moon
Right now you hate yourself cause you knew better
But theres no use crying over spilled perfume
Theres a big difference between lonely
And lonely for way too long
And I knew when he made his move
You werent feeling all that strong
So I bit my tongue cause I saw it coming
As you danced so close to him
Its two steps forward and three steps back
When a heart is on the mend
Did you really think last night would last forever
Did you really think that guy hung the moon
Right now you hate yourself cause you knew better
But theres no use crying over spilled perfume
You fell in a moment of weakness
Well you just got to pull yourself back up
Dry your morning-after tears
cause whats done is done
Did you really think last night would last forever
Did you really think that guy hung the moon
Right now you hate yourself cause you knew better
But theres no use crying over spilled perfume
No use crying over, no use crying over
No use crying over, spilled perfume

Tigre adoré, monstre aux airs indolents;
Je veux longtemps plonger mes doigts tremblants
Dans l'épaisseur de ta crinière lourde;

Rien ne me vaut l'abîme de ta couche;
L'oubli puissant habite sur ta bouche,
Et le Léthé coule dans tes baisers.

À mon destin, désormais mon délice,
J'obéirai comme un prédestiné;
Martyr docile, innocent condamné,
Dont la ferveur attise le supplice,

Je sucerai, pour noyer ma rancoeur,
Le népenthès et la bonne ciguë
Aux bouts charmants de cette gorge aiguë
Qui n'a jamais emprisonné de coeur.

Lethe

Come, lie upon my breast, cruel, insensitive soul,
Adored tigress, monster with the indolent air;
I want to plunge trembling fingers for a long time
In the thickness of your heavy mane,

To bury my head, full of pain
In your skirts redolent of your perfume,
To inhale, as from a withered flower,
The moldy sweetness of my defunct love.

I wish to sleep! to sleep rather than live!
In a slumber doubtful as death,
I shall remorselessly cover with my kisses
Your lovely body polished like copper.

To bury my subdued sobbing
Nothing equals the abyss of your bed,
Potent oblivion dwells upon your lips

The Bride of Abydos

"Had we never loved so kindly,
Had we never loved so blindly,
Never met or never parted,
We had ne'er been broken-hearted." — Burns

TO
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE LORD HOLLAND,
THIS TALE IS INSCRIBED,
WITH EVERY SENTIMENT OF REGARD AND RESPECT,
BY HIS GRATEFULLY OBLIGED AND SINCERE FRIEND,

BYRON.

THE BRIDE OF ABYDOS

CANTO THE FIRST.

I.

Know ye the land where cypress and myrtle
Are emblems of deeds that are done in their clime,
Where the rage of the vulture, the love of the turtle,
Now melt into sorrow, now madden to crime?
Know ye the land of the cedar and vine,
Where the flowers ever blossom, the beams ever shine;
Where the light wings of Zephyr, oppress'd with perfume,
Wax faint o'er the gardens of Gúl in her bloom; [1]
Where the citron and olive are fairest of fruit,
And the voice of the nightingale never is mute;
Where the tints of the earth, and the hues of the sky,
In colour though varied, in beauty may vie,
And the purple of Ocean is deepest in dye;
Where the virgins are soft as the roses they twine,
And all, save the spirit of man, is divine?
'Tis the clime of the East; 'tis the land of the Sun —
Can he smile on such deeds as his children have done? [2]
Oh! wild as the accents of lovers' farewell
Are the hearts which they bear, and the tales which they tell.

II.

Begirt with many a gallant slave,
Apparell'd as becomes the brave,
Awaiting each his lord's behest
To guide his steps, or guard his rest,

Hard to bear 2010

Like spectres in the gathering gloom.
White lilac trees are in full bloom
and fill the air with sweet perfume
The perfume that you used to wear.

When first I set my eyes on you
I knew you were my dream come true
Quite certain no one else would do.
We were destined to be a pair.

You smiled at me and then I knew
my darling that you felt it too
For once Dan Cupids aim was true
he hit his targets fair and square.

Two separate hearts now beat as one.
We both knew that we’d undergone
a sudden transformation
And so began our love affair.

We had been wed for forty year.
Known happiness beyond compare.
But death took you left me to bear.
My grief alone. Life is unfair.

Like spectres still white lilac trees
their perfume carried on the breeze.
Refreshing my fond memories
of perfume that you used to wear.

Although I know it can’t be true.
I sometimes sure I can see you.
Smiling at me as you used to do.
But as I watch you disappear.

An old mans foolish fantasies.
Or do you really visit me?
Do I see what I want to see?
‘Cos I won’t face reality.

I know your watching over me
I feel your presence frequently.
Let other people disagree.
they think I’m mad but I don’t care.
