The good die young — but not always. The wicked prevail — but not consistently. I am confused by life, and I feel safe within the confines of the theatre. O'Neil's dramas are slapstick farces, Albee's riddles are simple explanations, Pinter's threatening and threatened anti-heroes are innocent babes — next to life and the living. I cry out for order and find it only in art.

The Good Die Young

[talk]
These is hard times we livin in
Churches burnin, planes fallin from the sky
Murder, the good die young
The good definitely die young
This is a lil somethin
To help you get through the day
If you could
It was more than a tragedy
Emotions be grabbin me
Plane fell from the sky
We tryin to figure what happened
Burnin churches, fearin god
Who can be so cruel
We all ignorant to aids
Till it happens to you
Just be a man, make plans
Listen to your voice
A womans tryin to make decisions
We should leave them a choice
Cause who are we to say who lives and die
Breathes and stops
All this judgement on other lives
Needs to stop
What are we livin for
Givin more back than takin
On my knees still waitin for my own salvation
Now I feel abandoned
Cause pat bucanan say Im greedy
You can take my taxes, send me to war
But cant feed me
Its so easy to regret things
After they done
Babies catchin murder cases
Scared to laugh in the sun
The tragedies that we all need
Love in doses
In times like these we feel closest
The good die young
Does anybody have an answer why
It seems the good die young
Can anybody tell me why
Can anybody tell me why (2x)
Now in my world will it get worse
When I been trapped since birth
But I had to sleep in a hearse
Cause it was my bed first
My grands probably burnin
Turnin in they grave
Some folks aint even get to see a high age
But they did so I aint afraid
And this money got me feelin like a star
And this murder got me
Feelin like my death aint far
And the land (? ) and stolen cars
Dont get no better
Dont get no weaker or no harder
I was raised in a rush without my moms
And my father
So tell me somethin
If I grab my gat and get the dumpin
Would God get to lookin at me funny
Rest in peace to my mother aquillah beale
Rest in peace to my father salek beale
Rest in peace to my grandparents
And thug in peace to my brother seike
You know I love you
Witch world first storms (? ) and then al
Pac and then yak

Coulda sworn I seen ya face in a cloud
Family grievin on your last breath
Close to the heart whether you know it or not
I swear the love wont stop

>from jump
You kept it true, helped to feed the crew
The good die young
Livin fast jumpin the gun
Mama blamin the community for killin her son
My cousin darren wasnt scared of goin
But never knowin he was dyin slower
I guess I see ya when I see ya soulja
Does anybody have an answer why
It seems the good die young
Can anybody tell me why
Can anybody tell me why
I know my life aint promised
Thats why the wise move in silence
Analize these scandalous times
Its hard dogg but we manage
Schools turn to war zones
Even homes unsafe
Leavin children to play caged and raged
They hate, how come
Someone explain why the good die young
Why the bad die slow and outlive everyone
Its time somethin is done
For our young kids
They growin opus (? ? )
That aint the way to live
Tell me why
Days go past and as they pass
Time move quicker
No time for wastin
Put your hustle down my young dealers
Cause the end is nearer
But at least thats what they tellin me
Hell, all I know brothers
Aint ridin 4 3 felonys
Its time to plan, plot, and strategize
Capitolize, mobilize
We in the war yall
Its for all yall
My family to the ones that stabbed (? ) me
Little bit mo love is whats recommended
Yeah, and its plain to see
The seeds from you and me
Gon be the ones to lead us towards unity
Thats if we treat them right
Man, teach them right
Raise your kids better than you was
And see what it does
But if you dont
Man, we sho to be done
Well all see exactly why the good die young
Does anybody have an answer why
It seems the good die young
Can anybody tell me why

Only The Good Die Young

Twas many and many a year ago
and this saying we all do know
it has been sung and rhymed by so many
by those who made fortunes to not a penny...

The saying goes as we all do know
'Only The Good Die Young' the cliches go
I watched my elders proclaim this sagely
all gathered agreed whole heartedly nodded wisely...

And yet I know as realizations grow
And you know it's true that the bad die low
But nobody notices and nobody cares
Except very few who hide their tears...?

Knew I could not on this saying hold my tongue
and truth be said most are glad they are dead and done...
for some were born wicked bad eggs rotten vile
best said we say no more about sad past lives of trial...?

The Good Die Young

bullet shattered through
skin like broken glass
blood rains from the sky as a nation cry
all because another died
eyes barely opened to the world
feet still dry but now cold
as the good die young
before it all said and done
a mother lost a son
as his body returns to the sand
as it hard time when the good die young
no among of rain can watch
away the blood stained pavements
as am down on my knees
praying for my own salvation
seen so much brother die
and my god you along know why
the good the young
and the bad stay around

Only The Good Die Young

The demon in your mind will rape you in your bed at night
The wisdom of ages the lies and outrages concealed
Time it waits for no man
My future is revealed
Time it waits for no man
My fate is sealed
If I cancel tomorrow the undead will thank me today
Fly in the space of your prophets I mock your morality plays
The moon is red and bleeding
The sun is burned and black
The book of life is silent
No turning back
Only the good die young
All the evil seems to live forever
Only the good die young
All the evil seems to live forever
Only the good die young
Only the good die young
Mistery madman a victim of cruel charade
Some innocent pawn in an end game one more stalemate
Is death another birthday?
A way to kiss your dreams goodbey?
Do the undead live within us?
And look through our eyes?
Walking on water are mirarcles all you can trust
Measure your coffin does it measure up to your lust
So I think Ill leave you
With your bishops and your guilt
So until the next time
Have a good sin
Only the good die young
All the evil seems to live forever
Only the good die young
All the evil seems to live forever
Only the good die young
Only the good die young
Seven deadly sins
Seven ways to win
Seven holy paths to hell
Seven downward slopes
Seven bloodied hopes
Seven are your burning fires
Seven you desires...

There Is Something In The Soul That Cries Out For Freedom'

'There is something in the soul that cries out for freedom';
There is something in the heart that bleeds for another;
There is something in the mind that wants for equity;
This travesty's exodus from each is needed, for long-sought finality-
To banish forevermore, this all-too-pervasive bother;
But one answer presents more than ever-I need Him!
Should my penance of today hasten this liberty,
I would want for naught else, but that given me;
Alas, freedom purloined by another's whimsy
Is not freedom at all, but fallacious and flimsy;
If need be, I shall bide still, and wait
For time and distance to further abate
What is now overwhelmingly, painfully real;
This is all I may do, until I finally begin to heal!

Tear Drops And Closed Caskets The Good Die Young.

I went to a party, Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink and drive, Mom,
So I drank sprite instead.

I felt really proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you're always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone drives out of sight.

As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece,
Because of the way you raised me, Mom,
So responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled onto the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And it hit me like a load.

As I lie here on the pavement, Mom,
I hear the policeman say,
The other guy is drunk, Mom,
And now I'm the one who'll pay.

I'm lying here dying, Mom,
I wish you'd get here soon.
How come this happened to me, Mom?
My life burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom,
Most of it is mine.
I hear the paramedic say, Mom,
i'll be dead in a short time.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom,
The others didn't think.

He didn't know where he was going, Mom,
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, Mom,
He drank, and I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now, Mom,
Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying, Mom,
While all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom,
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I get to heaven, Mom,
Write 'Daddy's Girl' on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they'd have take the time, Mom,
I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom,
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom,
Because when I needed you, you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom,
Before I say good-bye.
I didn't ever drink, Mom,
So why am I to die?

This is the end, Mom,
I wish I could look you in the eye.
To say these final words, Mom,
I love you, and good-bye

When Judgement Comes

Bad things happen to bad people
and bad things happen to good people.
They say only the good die young
but in driven droves the bad die young
also except when the bad die young
usually nobody notices and or nobody cares.

When bad things happen to good people
usually friends neighbours relatives people
will willingly come flock to their aid
but for the hand mind which chose evil paid
reality check is alarm wake up call delayed
death judgement waits for every soul rewards...

are made paid
according to choices
choices greedy good
or evil before the spade
all are weighed measured
in judgement of soul lost saved?

The Last Signal Of Fall

(Written during the power crisis and on the moment when electronic media broke the news that a daughter of the nation has been rapped by the law imposing sentinels at the tomb of the Quaid-i- Azam: The founder of Pakistan)
We weep in pauses, we sleep in pieces,
Our dreams break, we wake to the nightmares;
We scratch, rag our bodies, our nails are blooded,
And we take bath every night in our own sweat.

The infants and children weep and wail
As if we are condemned to hellish zones,
But with out being judged,
Much earlier summoned to damnation
And with no hope of deliverance.

The rulers ask us to be patient a little more,
The day of drudgery will pass if we show strength,
The whole nation is going through the grindstones,
And being given childish consolations in response.

Whom should we ask to relieve us of painful dilemma?
All the doors of justice are shut tight,
Offense it is to speak the truth
Or cry out, for the sleeping ears get disturbed.

Who is responsible for the chaos?
Certainly not we but those who rule,
Those who looted, plundered the entrusted wealth,
We save penny by penny and they rob in sacks,
And heap wealth for the sons of their grandsons.

They have made topsy-turvy all the order,
The places of peace are perilous,
We have cheated and deceived God;
We fulfilled not the promises that we vowed,
That the country would be an incarnation of faith
And invincible castle of peace.

Where have gone all those vows,
Who broke them and who are enduring inflictions?
Yes; those who get high places and power through illegal means,
And yet claim to rectify the system.

They are the toys in the hands of global scoundrels
Who are a few but they have kidnapped the humanity,
And they follow them shutting the eyes.

What fears they have?
What are the temptations that have made them silent?
Our future is grim for they have blown out all the lamps,
Darkness is the fate unless we submit to God
And confess our follies and reassure Him to mend our ways.

Every event portends destruction, our extinction,
History imparts the lesson,
Those who adjoin their minds with the wicked planners,
And those who differentiate not between friends and foes
Have no right to exist, and if they do it is either a miracle,
Or concession or violation of the law of nature.

The last signal of fall has appeared, now we are to be trapped
For today a daughter on the tomb of Quaid has been rapped
By no one else but by the wardens of law.

California

I remember I was in the tanning salon
When I heard that river phoenix was gone
They say that only the good die young
But that aint true where I come from
California...california
It took a lot for me to say
I want to walk away, la
From the sharks and the chardonnay
In california...california
4 in the morning we were in our beds
The swaying palm trees above our heads
Woke up to a primal rumbling sound
When the northridge quake ripped open the
Ground
California...california
It took a lot for me to say
I want to walk away la
From the sharks and the chardonnay
In california... in california
Golden state, Im back in the golden state
Golden state of mind
Golden state, Im back in the golden state
Golden state of mind
It took a lot for me to say
I want to walk away la
From the sharks and the chardonnay
In california... in california
Walk, walk away
I remember I was in the tanning salon
When I heard that river phoenix was gone...

Thats The Way Love Turned Out To Be

(quinton claunch, dave hall & ry cooder)
Brand new day, brave new man
Its a miracle what love can do
All the joys romance can bring
Come smiling down on a heart thats true
When love is real, you cant turn it around
Its like a river running down to the sea
This old world turns around for lovers like you
Its not the way love turned out for me
People in love build a house they can share
Takes a long time to get it just right
But a fire can start in the kitchen somewhere
And burn that little house down over night
That flame burning bright in your heart, I believed that
You turned it on just for me
Another man held that fire, burned our house to the ground
Thats the way love turned out for me
People turn out for the big show
Pretty flowers turn out in the spring
And the light turns out in the kitchen
When somebody pulls on the string
But theres no light burning in my kitchen
And no doors open up with my key
And I aint got no one to turn to
Thats the way love turned out for me

Love is the inspiration

Love is the inspiration for the heart to sing a tune,
For the ear to hear,
For the soul to warm,
For the mouth to smile,
For the eyes to glisten.

Love is the inspiration for want,
For the soul to draw near another,
For the mouth to utter sweet words,
For the eyes to gaze upon,
For the heart to speak out.

Love is the inspiration for need,
For the mouth to touch,
For the eyes to close,
For the heart to race,
For the ear to burn.

Love is the inspiration for longing,
For the eyes to see only the one,
For the heart to cry out,
For the ear to hear whispers,
For the soul to join another forever.

Love is the inspiration for forever,
For the heart to be whole,
For the ear to always hear those words,
For the soul to have another,
For the mouth to speak the truth.

Love is the inspiration for the heart to seek God,
For the ear to hear his word,
For the soul to reach for him,
For the mouth to speak his truth,
For the eyes to always look upon him first,

For God is the inspiration for Love.

Psalm 44

Oh Lord we hear the tales
Of saints from long ago
Who came into your presence
And in your Spirit, flow

Your Shekinah fell like morning dew
Upon them one and all
Your glory and your majesty
Before your throne they fall

Its by the light of countenance
That we take the promised land
Its by your strength and your right arm
That we walk hand in hand

But now o Lord you've cast us off
And put us all to shame
The enemy comes and takes from us
And we shall never be the same

Arise O Lord, please do not sleep
Why do you hide your face
Our souls are bowed down to the dust
We cry out for your grace

Veteran Sirens

The ghost of Ninon would be sorry now
To laugh at them, were she to see them here,
So brave and so alert for learning how
To fence with reason for another year.

Age offers a far comelier diadem
Than theirs; but anguish has no eye for grace,
When time’s malicious mercy cautions them
To think a while of number and of space.

The burning hope, the worn expectancy,
The martyred humor, and the maimed allure,
Cry out for time to end his levity,
And age to soften its investiture;

But they, though others fade and are still fair,
Defy their fairness and are unsubdued;
Although they suffer, they may not forswear
The patient ardor of the unpursued.

Poor flesh, to fight the calendar so long;
Poor vanity, so quaint and yet so brave;
Poor folly, so deceived and yet so strong,
So far from Ninon and so near the grave.

Walking Away

the day i left you was the worst mistake i ever made
was ready to become something i didn't need you dragging me down
thought your love just wasn't enough
my hair combed, nice shoes tied tight
was ready to conquer life
help unwanted i can do this on my own and then i found myself wounded
tripping over myself, falling and scraping my knee
sadness fills for i know i've failed
why did i leave scared to go back
hoping you'll take me in with open arms
but also know the hurt i've caused
the breeze of angel wings
standing there a midst of lowers of every being
tears grow and orchestra begins to play
what a beautiful day, why are you alone
run child it's time for you to go home
wounded spirit face in the dirt
i cry out for you to take me in
your heart holds me close, and
i look up to face this world which so scares me
faith in you loneliness just seems to fade.
the man once inside now a child walking in your footsteps
hoping held leaves under feet from the trees of fall
listening to autumn's call
a deep breath to continue on, fragile
depending on you Christ carries me the rest of the walk
