A mornings word 11/02/07

All these bits and pieces
that have fallen in disrepair
as a broken heart unleashes
all the sadness and despair

upon the fartherest reaches
as slowly it pervades
upon my soul it leaches
how completely it invades

as the tears that seem to ever flow
down upon my face
to find themselves ever so
oh so out of place

and there the pain and sorrow
seem to have taken root
and upon my emotions borrow
to pillage there and loot

all these bits and pieces
that have fallen in disrepair
as a broken heart unleashes
all the sadness and despair

All These Words and What Have I Done with Them?

All these words
And what have I done with them?

No one cares
And no one has been helped
And no one has found in them
What I wanted there to be in them.

All these words
And what is worse perhaps
The years ahead
To still try and write
The real thing
And go on failing more despairingly.

All These Poems I Have Written/ What Are They?

ALL THESE POEMS I HAVE WRITTEN/ WHAT ARE THEY?

All these poems I have written
What are they?
What do they give?
I wait in the darkness
And know the morning light will come
But will it ever come
For my poetry?

All These Things I Have Found

All these things I have found
Take from me, take my pride....
But take them in such a way,
That neither the potsherd breaks
Nor the diamond cracks...

All These Words/All These Years

ALL THESE WORDS/ ALL THESE YEARS

All these words
All these years
And what do they mean?
The beauty of God’s world goes on
It will go on when I am long gone
Have I added anything at all?
The beauty of God’s world goes on
It will go on when I am long gone.

All These Universes And Distances

ALL THESE UNIVERSES AND DISTANCES

All these universes and distances-
All these places we will never know-
All these worlds forever beyond us-
And we small and lonely,
One little earth in who knows how many great universes-
What will become of us?
What are we meant to be?
It is too much for us alone to see-
God, Help us Please.

All These Complaints And Sadnesses

ALL THESE COMPLAINTS AND SADNESSES

All these complaints and sadnesses
All these ironies and doubts
All these self- mockings and inner musings
What do they give to those
Who long for Love
And Inspiration
Who need to perceive Life in more joyful ways?

All these kvetchings
What do they give?

Beauty Love Light Happiness -
Give them
You fool
Or shut up.

All These Games / I Make With Words And Poems

All these games
I make with words and poems
Will play for a short time
And then go away as if they never were

I am not a child anymore
But I am still lost in games I do not wish to play
‘Where is Reality? ’ I once wondered
And wonder still
As I close in
my own grave

The simple Beauty of Life
Must keep us alive
As long as we can

Then let the Silence play its melody
And God be the Judge Forever

All These Ironies And Inner Pains

ALL THESE IRONIES AND INNER PAINS

All these ironies and inner pains-
All these sad reflections-
The endless inner contradictions-
All this joy that suddenly comes
To save the morning light-
All this life which means so much
And means it seems nothing in the end-
All these longings and meanings
I bear with me each day-
And write in little lines
Which God I pray
Will never cast away
But rather reread to no end of Time
Oh Life Oh Light oh Poet’s dream Sublime.

And All These Beautiful Things

AND ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL THINGS

And all these beautiful things,
And all these great people,
Are too our world and our life
And all this beauty,
So so much beauty
Is too our life and our world.
So in the pain and in the doubt and in the suffering and in the worry and in the fear and in the great great sadness and difficulty,
We should also know the Beauty
And the Love
And the Goodness
Of our world
Is too our life
And never give up
Never never never give up.

To Apologize After All These Years?

To apologize after all these years
To a woman I haven’t seen in forty years
Seems senseless.

We have each had our own lives and loved ones-
And do not know each other anymore-

Yet the thought that I was unkind
To someone who would have been kind to me
Troubles still-

Just as the memory of her beauty in those days
Is Longing in me and
Saddens me with the thought of how we both look now.

We are old people now
And it is all so far away
Even our un-kindnesses
Must go to the grave.

All These Years

All these years
I have waited
I am still waiting
I shall keep on waiting
For the fulfillment of
My dreams
I am neither frustrated
Nor depressed
I was hopeful
I am hopeful
The day will come
When my dreams
Come true
I am not in a hurry
Hope and confidence
Does not let
My desires die
Delusions of the mind
Keep trying
To make me embrace
Madness
Crumble my confidence
Turn my life into hell
Desires keep coming
Contentment
Keeps me smiling
Patiently I wait
For my dreams
To come true

After All These Years I Today Do Not Know What To Do With Myself

AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I TODAY DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WIITH MYSELF

After all these years
I today do not know what to do with myself-

I have worked for such a long time
And now it feels as if I have no work-

I am a writer and I am writing now
So there is at least that -

But what must it be for so many retired people
Who after so many years
Find themselves with nothing to do?

How lost one is when one has so much time
And nothing to do with oneself
Except feel one's own uselessness
And inability to really do anything.

One Gets Used To All These

one gets used to all these
these and that, matters of the heart and soul
veiled with secrecy, worshiped as a secrecy
a devastation of the mind
a burning of the soul but no matter what
we both are here
still strong and silent in pain
rejoicing that oh,
somehow God has a plan for each of us
dead or alive
a room is reserved, a blue sky, a full moon,
a shining morning sun
a white butterfly, a scar that heals
exciting walks of life, stair by stair we tread upon
milestones
we shake our hands
we are here, and move on to the next, where no one
no one
can say, that this is all we have,

look over there,
there is more to all these

go.

All These Poems About Poems

All these poems about poems
Where do they lead?

The world is so rich in so many other things
Write poems about them.

At twilight I look out
At strangers walking
To do their errands of preparation
for Sukkot.

A poem should have some Beauty in it
And not just be an effort at recording observations-

The scarlet bright flowers rage at me from the distance
I cannot translate their Beauty to words -

There is so much I have seen
And so much I will never write –
And so many Poems beyond my Imagination.

All these poems about my failing at poetry
And about translating the Beauty of the world to words-

This is a poem I not know how to properly finish.

Get Used To All These Somehow

get used to all these somehow
these that i cannot understand
always the questions in my mind
like open mouths
longing for a kiss
empty and cold,
there are answers to choose
got nothing
i move in an open field
gasping for air
like a fish on the floor
shattered glasses and water
seeping on the
wooden floor

too dry for me but I'll get used to
all these
tomorrow the usual sun shines
if you ask me
i have no answers i will pretend
that this is the usual day
nothing extraordinary

like the passing of the wind
i shall not be carried away
but i have to rearrange my hair
gets crumpled
and i do not really like it

being seen by you and you ask
if it's me

i am. it was me.

We Need All These

we need some flowers to ease the dimness
when darkness shrouds our thoughts

we need the moon's sheen to assuage the sickness
that invades our spirits
after a hard day's work
we need to unwind and relax and sit and watch
from our chairs the trees below
the winding paths
the fading of the light

we need the conversations
after the meetings
the closed doors that we finally open
the sound of steps leaving

we need the walk with someone
hand in hand
between the needed silence

we need the sound of spoons and forks
the sound of hot water from the teapot
we need all these to bring us again
to our youthful memories
about whatever good we once did
about whatever faults we have mended.

I'll love you all this world and back....

I'll love you all this world and back....
Till this feeling never goes away...
till all these stars in the heavens
have collided into star-dust
within your fiery loving eyes.
Oh, you can hook a hole inside my heart:
I will never fight, I will never part—you
I will never kiss and tell, or abuse—you
you can sequin every tear
I've spilled to your precious soul:
Cause I'll just evaporate into nowhere...
Into a vacuum of space, without you
I'll love you all this world and back...
I promise—you!
I promise—you!
Till this feeling never goes away...
I'll go on, loving, loving you!
A year from today...
Ten years from today...
Till eternity is here to stay...
forever and a day, with you!

For All These That I See Today

wilted grass on the pasture land
emaciated water buffaloes
dried river beds
the well without water
humid air and dusty roads
to the village on a rice shortage
birds in flocks moving away
sick babies and panicky mothers
hopeless fathers thinking about
another revolution

a government stripped of moral authority
arming itself strengthening wire fences
building more walls and students out-of-school

muted press and more speeches from the
political departments justifying reason

for all these that i see today
i have seen them all yesterday
during my youth my rebel days
when i was not so careful then
when i never thought of the danger
when i though i do not die

history unfolds again before me
we are not strangers we are in fact on a familiarity

how can we ever talk like friends again?
how can i run away from society for the second time?

how can i vomit and eat all these rancid food
these spoils, these trash, this enormous silence?

After All These My Sweet

after all these
i will leave a stare at you
you are still sweetly
asleep in bed

i rise and wear back
my pair of pants
and you hear the sound
of the brushed wall
you open your eyes
to see a naked soul
fitting back to its warm body

and you give me back that stare
that shall make me guilty of
betrayal

you tears fall
and i put my hand on your
mouth
trying to cover a certain emptiness
that was not yet there before

i begin to wipe those tears
away from your cheeks

after all these
i ask you
to give me the beauty of silence

i will keep my lips sealed too
like the way you have sewn
my torn white handkerchief
when we first met

i shall leave you memories
sparkling like champagne
sweet as grapes

we both shall remember all these
but only for a while
for soon we shall bury all these
to the sands of time

you are inside and between us
this big and thick wall
of ontological indifference

i am outside now
and the world sends me that usual
smile

All These Songs About Rain

Well this town has closed down way too early and theres nothing to do
So Im drivin around in circles and Im thinkin about you
Today I heard you got a new last name
Sure didnt know it was gonna hit me this way
And the radio just keeps on playin all these songs about rain
Now theres all kinds of songs about babies and love that goes right
But for some unknown reason nobody wants to play them tonight
Hey I hope its sunny wherever you are
Thats sure not the picture tonight in my car
And it sure aint easin my pain all these songs
Like rainy night in Georgia
Kentucky rain
Here comes that rainy day feelin again
Blues eyes cryin in the early mornin rain
They go on and on, and theres no two the same
Oh it would be easy to blame all these songs about rain
Well I thought I was over you but I guess maybe Im not
When I let you go looks like lonely was all that I got
Guess Ill never know what could have been
Sure not helping this mood that Im in
And the radio just keeps on playin all these songs about rain
Like rainy night in Georgia
Kentucky rain
Here comes that rainy day feelin again
Blue eyes cryin in the early mornin rain
They go on and on and theres no two the same
Oh how I wish I could blame all these songs about rain
All these songs about rain
