Thank God, (Edited)

thank God
for not giving you what you are praying for

when it is not given
it is because it does not belong to you

because if given
it can cause you more harm than good

God knows what is inside our hearts
you really don't

his omniscience extends seven thousand years ahead
than your seven seconds

always thank the Lord
for he knows best

do not worry
do not complain
do not rush
do not push that much
He shall give you the best for you
soon

at the right time
and for the right reason.

I know what is best for me!

.

I did not think I’d live to see.
Three quarters of a century.
But I’m still here hale and hearty.
I shouldn’t be statistically.

The doctors make me furious
and not a little curious.
They say they what’s best for us.
To me it’s very obvious

They have convenient memories.
As they promote their theories
of things they say will damage us.
I find it frankly ludicrous

I started smoking when I was ten.
Doctors advising way back then
to anyone who would listen.
Smoking did no harm to men.

But this is now and that was then.
The modern breed of medicine men
Have changed what they believe again
Admitting they were mistaken.

If they were wrong back in the past
And those beliefs are over cast.
They may have got it wrong again
I wonder why they cant explain.

Why I should believe their views.
I find they are of little use.
They change their minds too frequently
I am entitled to refuse.

I disregard their theories.
I choose to live the way I please.
I smoke and drink because I choose.
A gamble I can win or lose.

When I reach my centenerary
I will review most probably.
The latest views of medicine men
I have no doubt they’ll change again.

What Shall You Do Then?

three fingers shall
touch a wooden box

for a time
this box is closed

but you are told
of a surprise that
this box shall
give you
the moment you give
in to the temptation
to just touch it

try it and be amazed
with what it will give you

there is no name
that i shall give to that which
gives you pleasure
when you agree
to touch it

it is pleasurable
i have seen it
but i will not tell you
until you touch it
first
with your three
fingers

i will give you another hint

be responsible
for what you decide
specifically for what you
touch

for in pleasure there is
always that accompanying pain

like the two faces of the woman
that you once loved

What Have I Done For You

What have I done for you,
England, my England?
What is there I would not do,
England, my own?
With your glorious eyes austere,
As the Lord were walking near,
Whispering terrible things and dear
As the Song on your bugles blown,
England -
Round the world on your bugles blown!

Where shall the watchful Sun,
England, my England,
Match the master-work you've done,
England, my own?
When shall he rejoice agen
Such a breed of mighty men
As come forward, one to ten,
To the Song on your bugles blown,
England -
Down the years on your bugles blown?

Ever the faith endures,
England, my England:-
'Take and break us: we are yours,
'England, my own!
'Life is good, and joy runs high
'Between English earth and sky:
'Death is death; but we shall die
'To the Song on your bugles blown,
'England -
'To the stars on your bugles blown!

They call you proud and hard,
England, my England:
You with worlds to watch and ward,
England, my own!
You whose mailed hand keeps the keys
Of such teeming destinies
You could know nor dread nor ease
Were the Song on your bugles blown,
England,
Round the Pit on your bugles blown!

Mother of Ships whose might,
England, my England,
Is the fierce old Sea's delight,
England, my own,
Chosen daughter of the Lord,
Spouse-in-Chief of the ancient sword,
There's the menace of the Word
In the Song on your bugles blown,
England -
Out of heaven on your bugles blown!

02-04-2012 Brother I give you my answer for Black People African Sahara it mesmerizes the wise largest desert it is asked of we What is Africa is to me 3.3 million miles of grea

Brother I give you my answer
for Black People

African Sahara
it mesmerizes the wise
largest desert
it is asked of we
What is Africa is to me
3.3 million miles
of great desert
once a forest
once a great sea
once an empty hole
in space just waiting
to be that it can
birth the blackness
of who my mothers be
3.3 millions
you can not see it all
Trans Saharan trade
is but a child
weather selling slaves
or selling salt
and always
brought and sold
the black man's art, gold
the paintings
was still for the walls
to surround us
a representation of the thing
that be, the God that
rose Africa from the sea
man got his
walking feet
on Africa's soil
Africa Moors
salt caravans
Africa the salt
of the land
what more did Africa
give to man
gold first mimed
found its glow
in the hands of
a black child
oldest gold jewelry
in Queen Zer's tomb
being as old as this
there is nothing
that we can not do

2

Ivory like
polished stones
brought first
first African's sold
temples carved in stone
monuments to the stars
time reconciled first
by black men
our diet first set
by black mothers
with the future
suckling at their breast
women who smoothed
the roughness of their men
who were molded
on the land and without them
man does not exist
can not stand to be a man
these women folk
that founded and ruled
empires that none has of yet
master to control
Africa is the earth's Queen
and she have
no king nor need of one
Timbuktu flows
smooth off the tongue
the beauty
of Africa
is in Djenné
and Kournb
and where was man to

on Ethiopian's or
Botswana's soil

the Jewish stones
The ten rules to use, abused
abruptly approve as truth
to writ as if it lives
like life, like Corporation
having life, all rules writ in stone
will someday break down
to dust on the wind
and reform somewhere else
man will never
conduct their lives
as not to covert
another man's wife
how holy is
man made of flesh
how hard the hash
his deeds and words
how come he
to seek control
of God as life
never before told
no true truth
can be known
the Ten Commandments
now the
white man's religion
is touched by
black hands
and these hands
have tilled the land
from which

If It's Not What You're Looking For

by Kenny Loggins, David Foster & Eva Ein Loggins
What you thinkin' of?
Darlin' you've been with me every day
But you seem so far away, I know
No, it's never enough
To smile and say there's something on your mind
If you doubt my love
Know that it's here all the time
If that's not what you're lookin' for
If it's not what you need to know
And if there is somethin' more
Girl, I'll give you anything you want
Girl it's been so right
Nobody could ever love you more
I've never been more sure
Where in the middle of the night
I hold you near
And take your heart in my arms
Swearin' all my love
That's something you've known from the start
If that's not what you're lookin' for
If it's not what you need to know
And if there is somethin' more
I'll give you anything you want
If that's not what you're lookin' for
If it's not what you need to know
Know that you're free to go
Just be sure that what you want
Is not what you got
Hold me
Oh, hold me tonight
Forever
Here, my love
So you'll never
Fly away
(SOLO)
Gotta work it out
I'm tryin' to hold on to our romance
We've only got one more chance I know
So tell me what it's all about
Oh darlin' if there's still a way to your heart
I'll use all my love
To keep us from fallin' apart
If that's not what you're lookin' for
If it's not what you need to know
And if there is somethin' more
I'll give you everything you want
If that's not what you're lookin' for
If it's not what you need to know
Know that you're free to go
Just be sure that what you want
Is not what you got

Im Not Giving You Up

To be completely honest
It scares me to imagine
What life would be without you
And for this very reason
I ask you to forgive me
For what Im putting us through
Although there are so many things
Against us, Ive decided
That Im not giving you up, no...
Thinking back, I see what we have
Is something different
I think weve known all along
So how fair would it be
To divide this loves existence
Between whats right and whats wrong
And you, always wondering if well make it
Time will tell you
That Im not giving you up, no, no...
Well find a way to be together
However long it takes, wherever
If it means having you for only a moment
A moment just might be enough
Im not giving you up, no
No Im not giving you up, no
Screaming in the silence the promises weve spoken
Come back to haunt me, false and broken
Quiet desperation to see were lost forever
Searching for water in the desert
No, I refuse to have to do
Without your kisses
Im not giving you up, no, no
Well find a way to be together
However long it takes, wherever
If it means having you for only a moment
A moment just might be enough
Im not giving you up, no
No Im not giving you up, no
No Im not giving you up

Dangerous (Look In The Light Of What You're Searching For)

Come into the light, passing through wisdom.
Hoping for love, all of the moves
Don't come across; you get too much.
Everybody needs it; don't show your body.
So dangerous - This fear of love
So dangerous - Can you handle it?
So dangerous - To love
So dangerous - Everyone else can do it
Walking the street, you're breaking your love.
Lose your heart, all in a mess.
In the middle of the night, looking for a little
Hands to the sun; don't show your body.
Death defying - Hurt by love
Passing through shadows - Don't lose your body
So dangerous - This fear of love
So dangerous - Can you handle it?
So dangerous - To keep this fear of love
So dangerous - To let it go
I don't imagine, I don't imagine as it is;
Don't get confused.
In the light, through the night...
Look in the light, through the night
Look in the light of what you're searching for.
Hide from your heart here in the arms of wanting.
Hide from the dark here in the arms of love.
Run from the fear inside the darkest reaches.
Look to yourself; you'll see the path is clear
So dangerous - This fear of love
So dangerous - Can you handle it?
So dangerous - To love
So dangerous - Everyone else can do it
Take what you have into the arms of wanting (to the arms of love)

Thank You Father - Prayer For A Healing

Father, first of all know how much I love you and appreciate you
in my life. Father you never leave me, always there to see me
through. This week Father you were ever present in not only my
life but that of my daughter and I thank you for what you did for
her this week. She now understands what I’ve been telling her
for quite sometime. There you were Father showing her what she
needed to see, giving her the inspiration she needed and filling
her with positive energy enabling her to go after her dream with
the gifts that you gave her so long ago. Thank you Father God for
always being present in my life.

Father I ask you to touch the life of a sister poet and her husband.
I know you know who I’m speaking of Father, so I won’t mention
any names. I speak of a sister poet who lives a difficult life dealing with an alcoholic husband, but you know Father she is
standing by her husband, taking one day at a time.

Today Father I pray for a healing for this man, help him to give up this addiction in his life, help him to see the light, to realize
what is happening to his wife, to know that he is going down hill
and needs to fight his way back into the real world. This man
Father God is living as you know, in a haze, so I pray for a healing.
I pray that you step into their lives and show them your power.
I know there isn’t anything that you cant do, you’ve showed me
that over and over Lord, now I ask that you do the same thing for
this couple. She is tired Lord, tired of looking at her husband,
asking herself-why-. I’m sure this man wants to give up this
habit, but he doesn’t know how Lord, but Father with your help, he can do it. Father God he needs a helping hand. He has the
support of his wife and with your divine power and the blood of
Jesus covering them, they will find the strength to move on and
leave this alcoholic addiction behind them.
Father I ask that you talk to him, show him the way, inspire him to
want Jesus to be the center of their lives and to have a wonderful
relationship with you Father God. Only you can help these people Father, only you can tear away the dark covering and shed a bright
light within their lives. Father God, I pray for all others that may be suffering from this addiction, I pray that you enter their lives and give them a healing as well. I know you know best Father and
I leave this with you for you are the all powerful, the all knowing
and the master of the universe.

Thank you Father for everything you do, I thank you in the name of your son Jesus-Amen

Christina and You and Home for Lunch

As you went by
the girl's playground
after getting off

the school bus
Christina called to you
through the wire fence

and said
my mother said
you can come home

for lunch today
if you like
ok

you said
where shall I meet you?
Cedric will bring you along

she said
and so when
the lunch time

recess bell rang
you followed Cedric
out of the school

and saw Christina
by the outer fence waiting
are you sure

your mother doesn't mind?
you asked
of course not

she said
Cedric walked on in front
leaving you and Christiana

to walk on behind
she talked about some girl
in her class who had a boyfriend

and claimed
to have had sex
and then she went on

about the teacher
who had been expelled
for taking pupils home

in his lunch hour
it was boys though
she added

and then you came
to her house
and she took you in

and there was her mother
in the kitchen
nice to meet you

she said
Christina has talked
about you so much

Cedric behind
his mother's back
was making gagging gestures

with his fingers
down his throat
Christina looked at you

and smiled
nice to be here
you said

are you sure it's all right
me coming?
of course it is

Christina's mother said
now sit down
and I'll serve up for us all

and so you all sat down
around the table
and Cedric looked at you

then looked down
at his knife and fork
and Christina said

glad you're here
and she put a hand
over yours

and gave your hand
a squeeze
then removed it

when her mother
set down the plates
and then sat down herself

and you all began to eat
in an unusual silence
Christina giving you

a bright eyed stare
and Cedric looking
over your shoulder

as if you weren't there
after lunch their mother
cleared the table

of plates and went off
and Cedric went
into the lounge

leaving you and Christina alone
what do you think?
she asked

about what?
you asked
my mother

what do you think of her?
she seems nice
you said

she gets depressed a lot
Christina said
but today

she was at her best
oh right
you said

sorry she gets depressed
come on
Christina said

I'll show you my room
you raised your eyebrows
won't your mother mind?

you asked
not if she doesn't know
Christina replied

isn't it a bit risky?
you said
yes

she said
that's what makes life
so interesting

so you followed her
and tiptoed up the stairs
and she showed you

her bedroom
and her favourite doll
and other favourites of hers

lined along her bed
then she kissed you quickly
and then stood back

and smiled and said
best go down now
or she'll wonder

where we are
and so that was it
and as you followed her

down the stairs
you could hear the radio
playing some classical music

and her mother
humming along
and sounding quite happy

and Christina giving you
another kiss
behind her mother's back

and after saying thank you
to her mother
you all left

to return to school
the clouds promising rain
and so back to school

and the boring lessons
once again.

For You, My Valentine...

because love
has betrayed me

does not mean
that i shall betray you too

because love has denied me its love
does not mean that i must not give this love to you

for i have known love and its pains
and having known all these

i have decided to be different
to love and to love no matter what cost shall it take me.

What You Do Best

Take to the blade
slice my flesh
watch me bleed
make it flow

flood the streets
paint with my blood
swim in my blood

Sink away in my placenta
drown in me
laugh at my wounds
Howl at the moon
this is what you do best

rinse my veins
wash my heart
bleach my lungs
curse my soul

Howl at the moon
this is what you do best

What's Inside!

it does not matter
whether you're Christian,
Buddhist, Hindu, Moslem,

or atheist by choice...
we are all born human!
with the potential to be...

fully human!
we have choices everyday....
what we do with our time,

our will, our feelings, our actions...
determines what we really are...
it doesnt matter so much about labels...

what matters is what's inside!

You 'Were' Looking For Your Shoes

I can not find my socks.
Who misplaced them?
And why are they not in my sight?

'Grandpa? '

WHAT IS IT! ?

'I've spotted your socks.'

Okay.
Then where are they?

'Grandpa...
They are on your feet.'

Oh.
Well...
Who put them there?

'You did grandpa.
Just before you said,
You 'were' looking for your shoes.'

What are you trying to say?
You know where they are too?

You Do Not Have...

you do not have to
read me
for me to become
another poet

i am
and i can be
and i will be
even without you

and you are
and you can be
and you shall be
even without me

i am a poet
because i have decided to write the poems
and the poem shall be there forever
until the right reader comes along

the one who loves
a poem even without me
even without you
even without the world

this poem and that poem shall be
even without us
for these are words
and words shall be words even without the world

for it was the word which came first
and shall remain
till eternity.

You Gotta Fight (For What You Want)

Little girl in these changing times
You got to move on or left behind
Every day is a battle again
And the state of future looks so damned
... ... allright
And if you get it right
...
...
...
Well you just got to fight for what you want
You got to fight for what you want 2x
For what you want
...
Every guide (or better guy? ) leaves you so confused
... which way to turn
...
Oh yeah ...
All night ...
... ... with that stone
Remember that
You got to fight for what you want 3x
For what you want
...
Got to fight for what you want
You got to fight for what you want

To Address What Is Best For Our Children

With a beginning to address what is best for our children,
Would a complete isolation of them become protested?
Would a total masquerading to keep them unknown,
Spare them from a mediocrity condoned.
To leave them competent with a rare ability to think.

And will those preferring to raise their children alone,
On their own...
Feel the heat of rejection from those who believe,
Being idealistic is too unreal.
Although a conformity to a normalcy,
Is apparently nonexistent...
The emphasis has been on the marketing of hype.
And not truths to spoil presentations.

For Those That I Shall Not Ask Forgiveness

for things that i should have finished by now
i ask forgiveness,

for all my indulgences, the most unlikely of what
being should not have been

i also ask forgiveness

there are joys that crown my hair
where time becomes unimportant

there are sweet thoughts that dwell in my mind
that which the logic of the brains detest

there are memories which should have been buried forever
but which with relish i still remember

those that they say are wrong those that they say
shall destroy

my being, my wholeness, my end bound perfection
for all these

i embrace with all fairness
i shall not say sorry, i shall not ask forgiveness

for in truth without all of those and these that are still
within the commands of my hands

i could have not lived at all.

Thank You Jack White (For The Fiber-Optic Jesus That You Gave Me)

Spoken- Let me tell ya a story about a very special gift I received from a, from a man that I didn't know very well. But he brightened up the night and made it one of the great shining moments of our long tour.
Goes like this-
Backstage in Detroit
And the room is full of smoke and apprehension
We'd been playing shows
As the warm-up and the band for Beck Hanson
In walks Jack, says - "How'd ya do?" (Oh yeah)
Then he handed me this wonderful statue.
And I said, "Thank you Jack White
For the fiber-optic Jesus that you gave me."
It shined so bright
That I couldn't help believin' it would save me.
When I finally got it home
My whole neighborhood was aglow
And I said, "Thank you Jack White
For the fiber-optic Jesus that you gave me."
(Here comes the pick)
(Oh Yeah)
Jack and Meg are funny
They got a modern backwards-liberal family code
Brother and sister
Playing rock 'n' roll and doing it on the road
I bet that van begin to stink
But then I wonder - oh - what Christ would think.
I said, "Thank you Jack White
For the fiber-optic Jesus that you gave me."
It shined so bright
That I couldn't help believin' it would save me.
And when I finally got it home
My whole neighborhood was aglow
And I said, "Thank you Jack White
For the fiber-optic Jesus that you gave me."
(Nice one)
