Many cross the Rhine

Many cross the Rhine
In this cup of mine.
Sip old Frankfort air
From my brown Cigar.

This girl of mine

This girl of mine
Shes so kind and sweet
Fills my heart with cheer
Fills it to the brim

This girl of mine
Shes so mysterious
Fills my head with thought
Fills it with such easy

This girl of mine
Oh so honest and real
Always fills my sight
Never again to be blind

In good
In bad
In best
In worst
In rich
In poor
In happiness
In sadness
In anger
In confusion

No mater what happens
She shall forever remain
This girl of mine.

(not like most of my poems, but it was 3 am in the morning and I wrote it for our 18 month anniversary.)

This Heart Of Mine

This heart of mine is made of silver
This heart of mine is made of gold
It will shine like a candle
When your world is dark and cold
This heart of mine is made of timber
This heart of mine is made of stone
Like a bridge across the mountain
When you're walkin' all alone
When you're walkin' all alone
This heart of mine is made of iron
This heart of mine is made of steel
It won't turn toward another
When the wind is on the heal
When the wind is on the heal
This heart of mine is made of silver
This heart of mine is made of gold
It will shine like a candle
When your world is dark and cold
When your world is dark and cold
When your world is dark and cold

This pride of mine

Is it my absurd pride,
Which countenanced you to take off and run?

Is it my rainbow pride,
Which made you flee to the searing sun?

I beg of you
Stop! Think twice
A little pride is better than nice.
That is a saying plausibly far from wise!

If your love could fall once more out of the sky
This pride of mine I throw out amply to the sea
I tell no lie and I speak no lies
This pride of mine, I’ll give to another for free

For years and years
I have chewed over on my pride
Crying out inside beclouded tears
Our love went down with a dingy backslide

But! But!
This pride of mine was too blind to see
Sometimes it draws out the beauty in me
Sometimes it sheds out the ugly in me
Like leaves falling off once a blossoming tree

This pride of mine
Needs to resign

This pride of mine
Isn’t sweeter than wine

But! But!
If your love could fall once more out of the sky
This pride of mine I throw out amply to the sea
I promise to be humble, humble and humble
For upon your type of love I may never stumble!

When I Cross The Last Bridge

my dear wife
when i cross the last bridge of this marriage
let me tell you
that i will be speaking in my own language
not yours
because it is so beautiful
so coherent
and so untrue.

Love begs to cross the line

it is late grandma again
the world she is in
that wraps me in
a strange coldness,
a dense vibration that stirs
the senses of my other faculty

we know each other's presence
silence speaks volumes
of truth at times like this

me; a physique with all its limitations
she; a soul with all its limitations
between us, a love that begs to cross the line

....other faculty means....extra sensory perception

Take This Cup

'take this cup from me,
if it be thy will...'
all of human history vomited
with the pounding of the nails.
sheer agony, heart exposed,
the final will and testament.
the gospel of unbridled compassion,
that the ignorant would wave like swords.
every footprint on the dusty path
that led to the holy city...
contained the face of every child
that time would sacrifice to greed.
Jesus, and mortal hunger,
are but bridge, and markings on the way.
the road that leads to god,
begins and ends in the heart,
and the body given!

The F.A.Cup Final

When I was a kid it was a big day
all the family around the television
I'd watch hours of the build up
seeing how both teams got there.
My father telling my mum the rules
my sister pretending she was interested
even the dog barked at the screen.
I'd kick every ball during the match
dreaming of being there one day
this was the best day of the year.
After the match I'd be over the fields
I'd pretend i was one of the players
who had played that day at Wembley.
The F.A.Cup Final was a great occasion
the biggest day in the football season
the best cup competition in the world!

Ianthe! you are call'd to cross the sea!

Ianthe! you are call'd to cross the sea!
A path forbidden me!
Remember, while the Sun his blessing sheds
Upon the mountain-heads,
How often we have watcht him laying down
His brow, and dropt our own
Against each other's, and how faint and short
And sliding the support!
What will succeed it now? Mine is unblest,
Ianthe! nor will rest
But on the very thought that swells with pain.
O bid me hope again!
O give me back what Earth, what (without you)
Not Heaven itself can do--
One of the golden days that we have past,
And let it be my last!
Or else the gift would be, however sweet,
Fragile and incomplete.

Cross The Road

Take your heart, Take your car.
But am gona be, with you so far,
On my feet I will win,
I will win your heart today.
Because
Am gona cross the road? ,
‘' gona cross the road,

Since that day, I saw you,
I made call I will die for you,
And today, on this race,
I promise that I win the race.
Because am gona cross the road * 4
I will fly, I'll jump high,
I'll be fine, oh! My Devine,
This ma day, Ooh baby love,
In the end you'll be ma lady.
All I've got, is to win this race?
I'll win and you'll be ma lady.
Use that road and I'll cross that road
Just believe you'll be ma lady, come on you'll be ma lady.

This Dream of Mine

MY family...
Will they ever understand...
This dream of mine...
How great... and glorious...love complete...
They'll find...
Redemption...forgiveness...
It's through love's grand design

For when and where
Justice and love... and mercy meet
It's a harmony...True love..so de-vine
And love is...
The only dream of mine

Love will mark.... Your paths...
And will led your ways...
For pains.... and tears... and every point
Love...Re-Defines
Love is only... this dream of mine

So to light and life
And love...
Like those endless summer day's
Love... My family...
Love is...only this dream on mine...

Drink From This Cup, Thirst Not In Afterlife

Will you drink freely my friend,
of the spirits, wine, or the ale?
Until you fall upon measured,
large drink stomach bloated.
Senseless in drunkard’s bowl,
like the dead beached whale.

Will you be in cups late into the night?
Thirsty traveller lingers at such a sight.
How soon, you thirst again, your ever bitter dry,
for aching head, it is hard, to gaze up into the sky.
There is a cup, of pure water, a cup of pure life,
all who drink from this cup, will thirst not, in afterlife.

Thus we chose
waters of intoxication.
In this world or
waters of life in the next.
One kills body soul
one prepares for resurrection.

If This World Was Mine

If this world were mine, I would stop people from killing each other.
I would give money to the poor.
If this world were mine, I would stop people from selling drugs to little kids.
If this world were mine, I would make sure that kids would go to school.
I would make sure there was enough food to eat.
If this world were mine, I would stop the war.
If this world were mine, I would make sure fathers paid child support.
If this world were mine, I would try to make this world a better place to live in.
If this world were mine, I would stop people from drinking and driving.
If this world were mine, we would all love each other as one.

For This Ardor In Mine Heart

If today's glimpse were all that I knew,
That may be enough-yet, it is not.
My dreams have shown what I wished to be true:
A world of wonder, that for my whole life I have sought.

I asked for patience, to allow this fear's allay,
Only to learn that I already possess it-
My faith is all the patience I ever needed, every day;
This is my Divinely-proffered strength, and I wish to confess it!

My only wish is for my dreams to meet with fruition-
For my reality to surpass my loftiest aspiration.
All your mind may fathom, may one day become reality;
Where otherwise you'd ne'er imagine, a dream becomes its own causality.
For a dream as this, many lifetimes I would wait-
For this ardor in mine heart, shan't e'er abate!

This Journal Of Mine

I have written a book of memories,
It is stored inside my mind,
And recorded on its pages,
Are many stories all entwined.

Journeys through my childhood,
And on into my teenage years,
Then reaching full maturity,
Sampling a variety of careers.

It only takes a few seconds,
This journal of mine to access,
Encountering joy and sorrow,
Tears of pain and happiness.

Experiences and adventures,
Lots of hellos and goodbyes,
People all intermingled,
In my conscience, which personifies.

These memories are forever,
Full documents of all my days,
Filed away for my future reference,
Enabling entry by the use of replays.

I have written a book of memories,
Into which I just love to delve,
And wander back to times gone by.
Let me recall when I was twelve!

The Road That Was Not Mine

The road that was not mine
I've often wondered about?
If I had followed that road somewhere
would I have felt left out?
There must have been something calling to me,
something too obscure
to understand at the onset
that the road I took was my lure.

I do not miss what wasn't mine
for in its absence I learned
how the road I'm on was exactly
the road for which I yearned.
There must be a defining purpose
that propels us to where we go.
At the end of our travels on this earth
we will look back and we'll know.

We will recognize all the holes
and sympathize with unfinished goals
and regrets will fall away.
For the adventures that come to you
will always have you say.
This was my life. I did my thing
and the road that was not mine
was for someone else to travel on.
But I wonder about it sometimes?

This Life Called Mine

This life called mine
Is not under your shadow.
Not under your beck and call.
Not living under that,
Not living it or giving it under that.
This life called mine...
Is exactly what it is.
Mine.
And not yours to say,
When I should put out.
Or when you feel the need to put in!
This life called mine...
I call it a condo.
I own all that which is inside.
And all that is outside of me...
God takes care of.
And I'm not charged a maintainance fee.
And I'm not trying to break my lease...
Either.
Or leave unexpectedly!
At least...
Give me some kind of a 50 year notice.

This life called mine.
And I've become fond,
Of Mother Nature's wholesomeness.
Fine it is,
This life of mine.
Fine it is,
The gloriousness of it.
I'd be out of my mind,
Not to fine the life I love to live...
Fine.
And I thank The Divine.

This Car Of Mine

This car of mine
A-win I got (bought) her now she wasnt new
Old and broke down
This car of mine
Theres been a lot of races we been through
No slow poke now
I never want to part with her you see
This little car means a heck of a lot to me
(this car of mine, oooooo)
I remember the day
A-when I chose her over all those old broken junkers
Thought I could tell
Underneath a coat of rust she was gold
No clunker
Just couldnt wait to take her home with me
And fix her up just as new as she could be
(this car of mine, this car of mine, this car of mine, this car of mine,
Oooooo)
Aint no amount of gold any mine
Would be enough to take away this car of mine
(this car of mine, dit til lee hup hup)
This car of mine
(dit til lee hup hup dit til lee hup hup)
Oh his car of mine
(dit til lee hup hup dit til lee hup hup)
Shes so so fine now
(dit til lee hup hup dit til lee hup hup)
This car, this car so fine now
(dit til lee hup hup dit til lee hup hup)
Mmm shes so fine...

Sailin' Cross the Devil's Sea

Lately I don't know where I went wrong,
But the spell of that pretty young girl is far too strong,
Between her fine perfume and angel face,
My whole world became another place.
The dark side of her intelligence was so strong,
Soon there'll be no difference in right or wrong.
Next thing I know I had a key that unlocked her door.
I could not wait to hear the siren song,
The beginning of the end of my happy home.
Sailin', sailing cross the devil's sea, oooh, hooo,
Too blind in love, too blind to see.
Heard them say the paybacks double-fold,
Just can't seem to remember who I bought and sold.
I'll probably still be here when you come around next year,
Trying to climb from this deep dark hole.
I'll be damned if I just don't feel I'm growin old.
Sailin', sailing cross the devils sea, ohhh, hooo,
Too blind in love, too blind to see.
Cause she was eviler than evil, slippery like a fox,
Set me up with pain and woe and, I swear it won't seem to stop.
If I could just remove her hook from deep from within my soul,
Swear I'll leave and not come back, just let me out that door.
Sailin', sailing cross the devil's sea, ohhh, hooo,
Too blind in love, too blind to see.

When The Spring This Time Comes...

When the Spring this time comes...
I will be there to greet it with a smile.
Each blade of grass will hear my laughter.
And budding leaves will witness my impatience.
They will watch me pacing awaiting their births.
As if each tree...
Secretly belonged to me.

When the Spring this time comes...
A glow upon my face will shine.
I've discovered a life I can declare is mine!
I had taken too much time not enjoying it.

When the Spring this time comes...
Every bird that sings I will hear and listen.
Every flower blooming will get my attention.
Everyone I pass will receive my hello!

When the Spring this time comes...
I will be there to become part of it!
As it has been a part of me,
I did not see like this before.

When the Spring this time comes...
I hope to bore it with my presence.
It is going to know,
How much I want to keep in touch with it.
Until Summer teases.
To leave me with Fall and Winter to please.

When the Spring this time comes...
I am going to get well acquainted.
And appreciate I will this time,
The magnificence of that opportunity!

When the Spring this time comes...
I will not be inside ignoring it behind windows.
They are opened right now,
Just in case Spring wants to surprise...
With an early visit!
I want it to know it is anticipated!

This Land Is Mine

From behind these walls I hear your song
Oh sweet words
The music that you play lights up my world
The sweetest that I've heard
Could it be that I've been touched and turned?
Oh love, please finally, finally things are changing
This land is mine
But I let you rule
I let you navigate and demand
Just as long as you know
This land is mine
So find your home and settle in
Oh I'm ready to let you in
Just as long as we know
This land is mine
After all the battles and the wars
The scars and loss
Well I'm still the queen of my domain
And feeling stronger now
The walls are down a little more each day
Since you came finally, finally things are changing
This land is mine
But I let you rule
I let you navigate and demand
Just as long as you know
This land is mine
So find your home and settle in
Oh I'm ready to let you in
Just as long as we know
This land is mine
Follow the days I've travelled alone
In this cold and colorless place till now
It's what I had to pay
This land is mine
But I let you rule
I let you navigate and demand
Just as long as you know
This land is mine
So find your home and settle in
Oh I'm ready to let you in
Just as long as we know
This land is mine
This land is mine but I let you rule
I let you navigate and demand
Just as long as you know this land is mine
