With Their Devotion, Faith and Love

I have loved and laughed and cried.
And today I am so filled with joy,
To know...
I have loved and laughed and cried,
With those...
Who have touched my life,
With their greatest of gifts...
Sharing their lives with mine.

And today I am filled with joy,
To know...
Those who have gone on in their lives,
To teach,
To administer their wisom.
And minister from pulpits...
With the same love and commitment to inspire,
Others...
With their devotion, faith and love!

So blessed am I,
To experience the crossing of our paths.

Foolish Boys With Their Toys

Foolish boys with their toys
Written by Wilfred Mellers, Friday, November 23,2012

You are a foolish boy with your toys
You own the world and everyone in it
The hearts and souls you can't ever win it
Information access you spin it
You are a foolish boy with your toys

You spit hate and say you are great
You turn a blind eye when others die
Sure you can blow up the world if you want to
Tell me, then what will you do?
You are a foolish boy with your toys

When you see the world to its end
Will that mean that you are men?
Arrogant and so unwise
Surrounded by stooges to fill your heads with lies
How foolish can you be?

Masters of the world and ruler of none
Life you took solely for fun
The gun took everything you claim to own
What will you do when you are left here all alone?
You're a foolish boy with your toys

Coding your messages to the grassroots
Fictitious fantasy filled with pure untruths
So foolish and unwise
You can't even see you own demise
Foolish boys with your toys

You've gained the world yet lost your soul
The very land you stand on you stole
This very world you're going to destroy
No steeds left to herd by the cowboy
You've been very foolish boys with your toys

Rene And Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War

Words & music by Paul Simon
Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog after the war
Returned to their hotel suite
And they unlocked the door
Easily losing their evening clothes
They danced by the light of the moon
To the Penguins, the Moonglows
The Orioles, and The Five Satins
The deep forbidden music
They'd been longing for
Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog after the war
Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog after the war
Were strolling down Christopher Street
When they stopped in a men's store
With all of the mannequins dressed in the style
That brought tears to their immigrant eyes
Just like The Penguins, the Moonglows
The Orioles, and The Five Satins
The easy stream of laughter
Flowing through the air
Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog apres la guerre
Side by side
They fell asleep
Decades gliding by like Indians
Time is cheap
When they wake up they will find
All their personal belongings
Have intertwined
Oh Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog after the war
Were dining with the power elite
And they looked in their bedroom drawer
And what do you think
They have hidden away
In the cabinet cold of their hearts?
The Penguins, the Moonglows
The Orioles, and The Five Satins
For now and ever after
As it was before
Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog after the war

Alignment With The Soul

We are beginning to see power as
the alignment of the personality with the soul
instead of the ability to manipulate and control with the personality's ego.
When your intentions come from your heart made of gold
you will not be operating out of the illusion, the drama, I'm told.
That is what Jesus did, he knew that they didn't know
so he could forgave them, for he saw their suffering of this world.

All Is Well With Your Soul

When tranquility whispers in your ear,
It soothed the soul like kisses
from a love one’s lips.

When regrets and lacks come to mind,
Learn their lessons, keep the faith
and leave regrets behind
All is well with your soul.

Enraptured in peace as you
sit by the cool river bank;
watching hurts and sorrows
roll out to sea, in assurance
That God is in control.

The resting place is low,
Heaven higher-
both are our lot.
Still all is well with our soul.

William Shakespeare

Sonnet 25: Let those who are in favour with their stars

Let those who are in favour with their stars
Of public honour and proud titles boast,
Whilst I, whom fortune of such triumph bars,
Unlooked for joy in that I honour most.
Great princes' favourites their fair leaves spread,
But as the marigold at the sun's eye,
And in themselves their pride lies burièd,
For at a frown they in their glory die.
The painful warrior famousèd for fight,
After a thousand victories once foiled,
Is from the book of honour razèd quite,
And all the rest forgot for which he toiled.
Then happy I that love and am beloved
Where I may not remove nor be removed.

Pablo Neruda

‘March days return with their covert light’

March days return with their covert light,
and huge fish swim through the sky,
vague earthly vapours progress in secret,
things slip to silence one by one.
Through fortuity, at this crisis of errant skies,
you reunite the lives of the sea to that of fire,
grey lurchings of the ship of winter
to the form that love carved in the guitar.
O love, O rose soaked by mermaids and spume,
dancing flame that climbs the invisible stairway,
to waken the blood in insomnia’s labyrinth,
so that the waves can complete themselves in the sky,
the sea forget its cargoes and rages,
and the world fall into darkness’s nets.

Unhappy With Their Normalities

They claim 'them' to be dysfunctional?
And the purpose for that is what?
To prove themselves less moronic?
Because those who they say are dysfunctional,
Seem to make less doctor appointments.
Place no visits to prisons.
Have the respect of their friends, family and children.
Work and donate time to volunteer.
And appear to be living that life that is wished.

'You know?
I think they are right!
Those who oppose to their way of life.
They are dysfunctional.
Compared to how life today is lived.
And what it is like to live it right!

But,
If 'they' are dysfunctional...
Why are so many unhappy with their normalities? '

With Their Wishes To Be 'Freaky

I think I've been called,
Every derogatory name there is.
When I was a kid that use to bother me.
Especially those names I couldn't spell.
I had at one time collected them.
To see which ones I preferred.

So...
To entertain,
I admit I then did some things that were strange.

Many years have passed,
And even today I'm considered 'eccentric'.
As if I did not spend my life pursuing this!
Status quo folks bore me to tears.
With their 'normal' way of doing things...
'Whatever' today people consider that 'is'.

And as I reach to seek for more challenges,
I realize I've almost outdone myself.
Believing I was made to test the waters,
Before anyone else.
And a few have sought me out to give advice.
With their wishes to be 'freaky' without paying the price.

'Back off!
I've earned this! '

With Their Depthness Of Such Knowledge

We should all feel blessed,
To know there are those amongst us...
Who know exactly the way,
We should all live our lives...
By sharing their insights of correctness.
And their tempers flared prematurely will then cool,
With the comprehension and understanding...
They are willing in patience to prevent anguish.

We should all feel blessed,
To know there are those with direct contact...
With God and the understanding of God's wishes.
And perhaps one day those who lead us,
Into wars to battle over self interests 'consciously'...
Will heal the ones wounded with pain and sorrows,
With their depthness of such knowledge claimed...
To end every conflict they have intentionally started.

Let us all pray that one day,
Their interpretations will awaken them to match...
Their ideals.
To then produce a true peace that today,
Seems so elusive to evade common sense.
And the purpose for it.

Displeased With Their Own Enforced Activities

Uniting to rid themselves,
Of those people they disliked...
Has found them surrounded with incompetence.
And no one innovative enough,
To know what motivating initiative takes.

Someone amongst them,
Has to formulate an agenda.
And the one who campaign,
To remove discipline and a needed structure...
That had one time produced direction,
Is the first to complain that time and effort...
Is too much of a sacrifice to make things right.

But it had been alright in their narrow mindsights,
To backstab and backbite...
Those who thought nothing of sacrificing their lives,
With a determination to benefit all of their needs.

And this is the plight,
A socially ignorant environment leaves!

People eventually become displeased,
With their own enforced activities!
And finding someone outside of themselves,
To place blame becomes a priority.
With no advancement!
And nothing but excuses exchanged!

The role of soul and body.

The soul and body are integrated
Who governs one’s ego, desire and traits?
Are genes the seat of the soul or body?
Who commits sins and perform virtues?
Who experiences the joy and sorrow?

It is not the soul alone that does them.
It is not the body alone that does them.
Soul and body together manifest
Like the flame and candle together burn.

The struggle of the internal force with
The external force is what we call life.
Our prayers and sacrifices have no sway.
Forces are independent and unconcerned.

To sum up, there is only single soul
That runs through the entire living kingdom.
It never dies nor is born with deaths and births.
Its growth is bound by the external force.

The internal force is in continuation
To the external force, which is God
They have their own agenda to perform.
Your prayers are irrelevant to them.

No soul exists or is reborn after death.
Sins and virtues are not to carry over.
Birth and death are internal occurrence.
To live is the motto of the living things..

Nothing To Do With Their Active Involvement

A 'knowing' takes observation.
With a growing of a comprehension,
That connects with effectiveness.
Many have chosen to accept this,
As the main ingredient to their happiness.

Those affected by what is observed,
But reject the obvious as cause and reason...
Live in spaces they believe invisible.
With a series or excuses and denials,
From them sent to dispute a truth meant.
And a clarity that has been heaven sent?
Well...
Folks can not perceive in their daily routines,
Truth like this breaks through walls of cement.

There is something that can be said,
About those who try to escape...
From what they dread.
And it is all in their heads...
Cushioned by delusion,
That the appearance of what is...
Isn't for them to be experienced.

Nor Has it 'anything' or nothing at all,
To do with their active involvement.
And as long as they inhibit and reside within it,
Participating...
There is a belief they keep pieces of it concealed.
And 'this' is believed by those with this perception,
They alone have choices
To pick and choose their own realities.

Hoping With Their Fingers Crossed

From the very moment they raided the kitchen,
To leave the cupboards and the shelves empty and bare...
Those who had been entrusted,
To oversee the supply in abundance there...
But stole what they could,
And ran like lieing thieves who connived...
Are now back on the scene in the same suits and ties.
Hoping with their fingers crossed,
That no one remembers who had their fingers in the cookie jars...
Long before their attempts to place the blame,
On the ones who came with rolled up sleeves and one purpose...
To permanently rid every rodent and remodel the entire house,
With a fresh coat of paint and furnishings...
That will restore accountability and integrity,
To once again have the occupants...
And everyone in the neighborhood,
Feeling proud that someone has focused with priority...
To finally move forward by naming every rat trying to come back,
These crooks are now on the defensive and innocence in their eyes...
Also display gestures,
Of having had an absence of memory for their misdeeds.
And of course...
They seek an attention to have everyone believe,
Their intentions are nothing but wholesome, honest and sincere.

Even with Their Sunglasses On

I do not pussyfoot or beat around bushes.
And I don't get offers to speak sweet messages either.
Not publicly.
I am prone to be...
Less controlled by proper etiquette.
How boring can people get?

In fact...
In the middle of my presentations remembered,
People were riveted to their seats.
Undecided whether it was safe to exit,
Or stay fixed in one place to slowly breathe.

My last poetry reading...
I stripped bare!
There was static in the air.
And I needed to clear it.

And those witnessing in a state of shock,
Did their best to keep eye contact with me.
They knew I was there to deliver a message,
With a package unwrapped and firm...
Then!
And I was proud to be able to reach such heights.
The older I get,
I have noticed my emphasis has drastically changed.

Today...
People have raised their expectations much too high.
Even with their sunglasses on...
I can still tell where the focus of their attention is!
And it is not on listening to a word I have to say.
So I have discovered another more appropriate way,
To rise to the occasion.

I have not lost my ability to entertain.
It isn't easy finding more effective ways,
To handle my business.
And...
At least get 'someone' to appreciate my efforts.

With Their Doings Done

Some feel free to be sadistic,
With doings done.
And the having of fun.
Idealistic realists,
With doings done.
And a wanting of truth to appear and come.

And they who are minimalists,
Try to reduce materialistic wishes...
With doings undone seeking to do.

Some feel free to be sadistic,

Idealistic realists,
With doings done.
And a wanting of truth to appear and come

Many have slowed their paces...
With their doings done.
Doings done.
Eliminating their rat races...
With their doings done.
Doings done.
And celebrating tasting life...
As if a piece of cake,
To savor.

Many have slowed their paces...
With their doings done.
Doings done.
Eliminating their rat races...
With their doings done.
Doings done.

With a tasting of life to savor.

They Fought with their Bare Hands

To Mordecai Anielewicz (1919-1943)

Facing formidable forces,
Supported with tanks and artillery,
You knew that there was no way to win.

Nevertheless, you decided to fight,
Not for victory, but for Jewish honour.
So, one day in the spring of 1943,
You were 24 years old then,
The Zionist banner was hoisted
Over the Warsaw Ghetto wall,
Along with the Polish flag.

The SS troops preferred to use
Artillery fire, flamethrowers
And gas, or to blast the houses
By dynamite squads, rather than engage
In direct street fighting with untrained
And poorly armed young Jewish men
And women.

And soon the whole ghetto was aflame.
The news about the uprising spread in the world.
Broadcasts by the Underground Polish radio SWIT
Operating out of Warsaw were picked up,
As far as Sweden. The radio said that women
And children are defending themselves
With their bare hands.

The uprising galvanized resistance movements
Throughout Nazi occupied Europe. It was on May 8,
After three weeks of Combat, that you threw
Your last grenade from the bunker on 19 Mila Street
And fell together with your beloved bride Mira.

But, as you said, you realized your dream,
Because you had lived to see Jewish resistance
In its heroic greatness and resplendent glory.
You had stood up to the brutal Nazi empire
Of Adolf Hitler.

In spite of all his Military might,
The Fuehrer failed to drag you away to
Treblinka and you died as a free human being.

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
Transformed Jewish submission to resistance.
You helped to turn hopelessness to resolve,
Despair to vigour, degradation to courage.
You formed Dignity out of humiliation,
Sculpted from misery the grit of honour.

Like the North Star showing steadfast direction
To Desperate sailors, the light of your heroic command
Shines through the darkness of the Night.
Your young life sacrificed on the cruel altar
Of History is a luminous monument
To soulful conscience, a lofty triumph
Of the human spirit.

From your spilled blood that sunk into the earth
Of Poland, poignant sprouts of bravery and dignity
Blossom forth, flowers of freedom and buds of hope
Bear blooms of sacred petals.

I dance with the Gods and Goddesses

i could have danced away
in the lotus bloom,
the wood that
comes to life
under the hands
of a master carver.
my eyes fleet from
one sacred countenance
to the next,
the prelude to the
mystic dance
i am drawn to do
with the
gods and goddesses.
the first step
i learn from the
KuangYing (goddess of mercy)
with a thousand hands,
so graceful
and delicate
they curl to
form an arc
above her.
my heart
goes afflutter,
my limbs soft
my soul flies
in her gaze.
if i could
just possess
two of those
wonderful hands,
i would
swing them
in the
ballet world.
the sakyamuni
buddha in his
meditative stance -
the depth
that it brings
my heart to
the sacred world -
that empty realm
and sanctum
where everything
goes quiet to
let god take
centrestage;
those seconds
in any
dance show
where the
audience's mind
is led to
run on
infinity,
every dancer
still like me
enthralled
at the buddha's
magic and spiritual aura.
the laughing budda
with his potbelly
i nearly stumble
in my urge to
touch, to rub off
some luck
to level my
years of financial
inadequacy.
and i stand aghast
at the drunken Monk
in torn fabrics
with his mouth tightly
squeezed against
a wine gourd
reminiscent of
a baby suckling
from a mom's
succulent breast.
the whiskered
Kuang Kong (god of war)
in that familiar
honorable martial pose
with his large spear
inspires anybody's
sense of patriotism
and readiness
to make that leap
for action to protect
one's nation.
these multi-faceted gods
and goddesses
boil up my sense
of humour
in the joy
that there are
so many wondrous characters
in the heavens
waiting to light up my life
if i were lucky to enter them.
l saunter through the hall
with the ramayana
gods and goddesses
in caves, in lotuses, on rocks
sending me off
to the real world.
i dance the last
few steps that
herald me back
to the mundane world
.....of toil and pain, senses
a world these gods and goddesses
decide to sacrfice their own paradise
to get me out of.

(rayamana buddhist deities are deities
who forgo their own chance to go
into their heavens temporarily so that they could remain in the human realm to help
mankind get out of the grim cycle of reincarnation)
